I say he wasn't revived, because it doesn't matter.

I mean it's not like he's needed to come to earth and fight evil, he can talk telepathically to everyone whether he's alive or dead.

See, that doesn't make sense to me, Funi can add new dialog, but they are perfectly fine with having Bardock fight his way to Freeza, through hundreds of men, and then claim they are his comrades.

I've been playing the shit out of B3 since it came out (I own two copies, since I needed the JP language track) But so far this looks like one step forward, and a couple of steps back, I own both the shin Budokai's, and I was happy with the additions/changes because it was a portable game, and I wan...

I though the First Strike set had the original music in them? No definitely not. I only switched over to he dub to see what they did with Gohan's two songs. Menza's version of Gohan's song about Piccolo, was a fucking joke, it wasn't even music, it was just weird random noises, he fools you into th...

Haha, I think anyone that considers GT canon is pretty optimistic, or just great at ignoring everything thats wrong with it.

(apart from the ending, that was the closure I wanted at the end of Z dammit)

I don't understand why grain bothers people so much (okay, I understand when you're talking about the Ultimate uncuts) It's like people want their animation to look like the soul-less vector based crap the cheap cartoons do these days. TripleRach is right, the season sets are an example of what happ...

Yeah, I think they did some extra edge enhancing on that one, which lead to some nasty aliasing, mostly in the backgrounds.

It really annoyed me because movie 13 has fantastic animation.

But, is it really that dark? What program are you using to take those screen captures from the Season Set Funimation? They look quite bright to me, and I don't really see any grain, but then again, I'm running my pc at 1920x1440 so it's kind of hard to see. In my opinion the Dragonbox footage actua...

Thanks for the comparisons Toreto.

I can't say I like the cropping or the "remastering" (especially the backgrounds, they look like someone ran them through photoshop with a "pastel wash" filter) but those colours are fantastic for a funimation release.

All I know is apparently that is the reason we didn't get the Japanese language track, because of how long Funi were taking with the releases in the US.

I can't help anyone with the Cell saga releases, because I don't own them, they're dub only and thats not what I'm interested in.

I think the colours are slightly better in the new releases, and of course the bit-rates, but there is still some detail loss (though no-where near as bad as in the previous remastered dvds) not to mention the cropping.

Still, it looks the best so far (though I'm yet to see it in motion)

I took some screencaps, sorry for the lack of timestamps, also be aware these are from the R4 release (Madman are known for less than stellar NTSC to PAL conversions)

Oh don't worry, I'm 100% certain Atari will get its hands on this. The very existence of their company depends on it. lol, I just hope Donny Clay is fired before there's a US press release (I guess thats more of an "if" at this point), I don't want to have to watch his chins wobble ...

I'm waiting to see if there are any instances of the "disappearing lines" I want to close the gap in my collection, but I'd rather go without if it's the same bullshit I got in my Season 2 set.

This is easily the best looking "remastered" release so far. The picture is slightly blurrier but the colours are much nicer, the cropping however does still annoy me a little, the Tv specials were re-released here (Australia) last year, so I don't need to pick them up, but if that wasn't ...
