Re: Dragon Box The Movies question

Is it my imagination or does the Funi release look like it has more of the image? It's been discussed a few times on here. Yeah. I forget the specifics of it, but the Funimation double-features ended up with slightly more image than the Dragon Box releases. I think it might be because the Dragon Bo...

Re: Dragon Box The Movies question

Also, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Japan has ever had a release of the movies in 4:3, has it?

I'm pretty sure only international license-holders got 4:3 masters.

More like hopefully I never place my enjoyment of a children's cartoon on the same mental level as the touch of a human woman, actually.

But I get ya.

Re: Dragon Box The Movies question

Judging by FUNi's silver tin case (isn't there another term for this?) releases, I assume they'll do widescreen. Steelbook and/or double-feature releases seem to be the most common. Anyway, FUNimation doesn't have a say in the matter. The footage they would have received as part of the Dragon Box p...

Re: Dragon Ball Items with Sentimental Value

My ex got me a Gokuu plush, that I can't seem to get rid of. However much I want to. :( I hear that. I actually got Dragon Ball seasons two-five just because my girlfriend started to watch the show with me. I mean, I would have bought them eventually, but that was the impetus for buying them sooner...

Interested in the Puar, but not the Karin. When you say "$50 both," do you mean for both of them together, or for each one?

Perhaps the character most representative of Dragon Ball's tone, next to Goku.

Re: Favorite Tokunaga Tracks

The Dan Dan instrumental played during Super Saiyan 4 Gokû's first appearence. How do you not love that thing? It's a very touching piece and I wish it was available commercially. This one? The BGM when everybody contributed to the Genki Dama has always been fantastic in my eyes. This? It's not one...

Re: Population of DB Earth

I assume that the population would be close to the same, given that I don't believe Toriyama would bother to care about changing something so irrelevant to the plot, though I can't speak for him (Obviously). To be fair, Dragon World does appear to be much ... smaller. From what we can tell, there's...

Re: 40% off Funimation products at Rightstuf.

Going to use this opportunity to get the Dragon Ball movie set, and Dragon Ball Season Five, finally.

The Dragon Boxes can wait until April. I'm sure I'll be able to find them at an equivalently low price then anyway.

Re: So, How Exactly is Kai Remastered?

Hahaha, Nah. There's certain aspects of the Dragon Boxes themselves that look better than Kai's scenes, mainly colors though in my opinion. While I do kind of prefer the Dragon Boxes' color palette (whether or not it accurately resembles the original broadcast), Kai objectively has the better foota...

Re: Vegeta and the 4 star dragon

Vegeta was being outrun by Si Xing-Long, but not, in his own words, actually hurt by him. It's possible he was just zipping around with his little attacks, but would have needed to slow down to put out any power in a real fight. He certainly had more of an actual showdown with Goku, at any rate. For...

Re: Anime Vs Manga: What's up with the Dragon Ball GT hate?

Piccolo dying is stupid? In a series that trivializes the death of main characters to the point that it's a non-issue by the Buu arc, permanently offing Piccolo is a bad thing? One of my favorite things about the series (besides the art direction and soundtrack) is Toei's willingness to add actual c...

Anyway, more to the other topic at hand. I've been meaning to write up something on the animation process of Kai , but Herms hasn't really had the chance to translate the booklets. At some point, we'll get to it. Hopefully sooner than later. Well, cool then. It looks like those scans posted earlier...

Re: The old two-disc DB sets. Worth it anymore?

The two-disk sets had the original Japanese video as an alternate angle, and they're less zoomed in . But overall, the quality is better on the blue bricks. Can I see some confirmation of this? I always thought the footage was exactly as zoomed in as it was on the two-disc sets. Also, I'm going to ...
