Re: Is Budokai 3 overrated?

when Budokai 3 came out it was great but Right now it looks meh.... i know there are fans who put this game on a solid gold Pedestal but in my opinion Budokai 3 & Tenkaichi 3 are the best DBZ games on PS2 and thats it. Which games are better? I'm been out of the game for a while (so to speak) a...

Re: Dragon Ball community and "Theories"

I think a huge part of it is the very long period of time where there was nothing else to talk about. The only time I was truly active in a Dragon Ball community the dub was over and we were not yet in the nostalgic revival we're in now. It was a dead franchise, other than the annual videogame that ...

Re: Is Budokai 3 overrated?

You've got an awesome cast of characters that not only covers DBZ quite thoroughly... I'll have to stop you right there. 30 characters is not really "thorough". I mean, I'm not referring to characters like Kiwi, but when Dodoria, Zarbon, Gurd, Butta, Jheese, and #19 (and probably even mor...

Re: Is Budokai 3 overrated?

It's only in the overrated if people say it's a perfect game, because it's not a perfect game - Dragon Rush is a massive flaw. But other than that? You've got the first game with a legitimately good fighting engine. You've got an awesome cast of characters that not only covers DBZ quite thoroughly b...

Re: Unpopular DB opinions

The training part or really the whole Saiyan filler is probably the best/most tolerable filler. Some of the episodes particularly the Gohan ones were quite good. Consider how awful the Namek filler was. I haven't watched the anime since it first aired in America so there's twenty years of fog in my...

Re: Viz's Print Edition of the "Full Colour Comics" Discussion

Slight variations in alignment of spines across books is pretty unavoidable for paperbacks, as the books are machine trimmed after printing and binding and tolerances typically aren't super tight.

Re: It just occured to me, Piccolo is the only non-Saiyan...

The magnitude of Raditz is something lost in the Z-first presentation of the story. Without the backstory of Dragon Ball, Raditz is merely an introductory villain. And while it is a super ambitious and awesome idea to have the hero of a show get killed five episodes into the series, Raditz himself i...

Re: Has Dragon Ball influenced you to write your own story?

Dragon Ball has inspired me tremendously in pursuing a life of creativity. Most of that is in the realm of art (right now I'm teaching myself to color with dyes like Toriyama did and it's proving to be quite difficult) but in storytelling as well. When I read those earliest volumes of DB I'm very in...

Re: Unpopular DB opinions

My unpopular opinion: The Cell arc is the low point of the manga. It is weirdly un-Dragon Ball. The narrative from the beginning through Namek is so clear and strong. Goku grows in power and keeps achieving new highs, culminating in him becoming a legendary warrior and the strongest man in the unive...

Re: Your Dream DB Collection

A set hardcover, oversized, uncut, uncensored, faithfully reproduced, English-language volumes collecting the entire series. I had never even considered hardcover... that would be swell . I could imagine the Kanzenban or Full Color releases looking gorgeous. It's actually becoming increasingly popu...

A set hardcover, oversized, uncut, uncensored, faithfully reproduced, English-language volumes collecting the entire series. This, except for the oversized part. I like my manga tankobon-sized. I'm primarily a fan and reader of American comics, so the tankobon have always been a little small for co...
