I always liked how Goku flashed in and out of Super Saiyan at the end of the fight against Jiren, it does an awesome job at conveying its message, and it's definitely one of the best scenes in the franchise overall, in my opinion.

The common interpretation is that Granolah didn't become stronger than Shin per se, he became stronger than Goku and Vegeta, who happened to already be stronger than Shin. After all, Granolah also became stronger than Dende (aka Kami, a god) and many other lesser deities.

I think they might need to hit him several times over the course of three consecutive minutes to make it apparent that they did so, otherwise he can just keep on hiding the evidence and pretending that they didn't.
