Haha, not stupid at all! It's an easy mistake to make. Honestly, there have been a couple times I've been reading this thread and I've had to double check that I was in the right one.

This thread is about the screenings of movie 8, 12, and the Bardock special, not the new Super movie.

Re: "Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan" & more coming to U.S. Theaters later this year!

You know, I'm fairly certain that Funimation doesn't actually have anything to do with these particular screenings. Everywhere I look for information on these, Funimation is nowhere to be found, and that's including on the promo card that was handed out at Anime Expo . These events look like they're...

Re: Why do so many Z fans refuse to watch the original Dragon Ball?

Why does it need promotion at all? It's the first part of the story. Does East Blue need ads separate from normal One Piece promotion for people to read it? No, but One Piece was never split into two separate anime series with different titles (and, subsequently, two separate manga series in the st...

Re: "Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan" & more coming to U.S. Theaters later this year!

Hmm... the "remastered" description on the Fathom Events Website is interesting. Per the overall description for the events: "featuring the fully remastered English dubs of three Saiyan classics." If the way in which they worded that is to be trusted, then it would appear as if t...

Re: "Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan" & more coming to U.S. Theaters later this year!

Are they seriously going to show the dub for Bardock: Father of Goku in theatres? Because that dub was not good at all. Crossing my fingers and hoping that they take this opportunity to re-dub it. Seems like a really good time to do it; premiere the new dub in theaters and drum up hype for a new DV...

Re: Is It Time For A Redub? Dragon Ball (OG)

The Bardock and Trunks specials have possibly the worst English dubs that Funimation has ever produced. Seriously ? worse than late Freeza and Cell arcs ? The dub of the Trunks special is about on par with the dub of the Cell arc (which makes sense, since they were produced around the same time), b...

Re: Do you feel that filler hurts or helps the story as a whole?

Not to mention that the "tedium" you're referring to is likely due to filler itself, as in the stretching out of the Goku vs. Freeza fight to an obscene length. If the fight on Namek took place without any filler at all, it wouldn't be tedious.

Sorry about the lack of updates lately, here is a small one for you: I am very much still working on this project and fully intend to release it. At this point, I have fully edited the first "part" (Saiyan to Android) of Kai. Right now, I'm going through and fine-tuning each episode. I'm r...

I picked up an issue of Saikyō Jump back in August (so it was the September issue), and the chapter of SD covered Chiaotzu's sacrifice and Tenshinhan's battle with Nappa.

Re: I promise this isn't a hate thread, but why are so many DB fans so ignorant?

I attribute no credit whatsoever to the Faulconer Productions side of things for its success Dragon Ball Z with the Shuki Levy score was already wildly popular in the states before Faulconer ever came along, so much so that the demand for more dubbed episodes allowed Funimation to continue with the...

Viz is releasing three volumes per year, allegedly. https://www.viz.com/news/newsroom/1006052 Future volumes will be published three times a year. That article is from 2014, I wouldn't place too much stock in it. Honestly, I doubt they're going to continue releasing these. Doesn't sound like the sa...

Re: Dragon Ball Recut [COMPLETE], Dragon Ball Z Kai Recut [WORK IN PROGRESS], Dragon Ball Z Recut [WORK IN PROGRESS]

When it comes to the Japanese audio, especially if you're using the recordings of the broadcast audio for Z, doesn't that make it impossible if you ever need to separate out the music from the dialogue and sound effects to reposition it? Do you just have to work around that? Yes, it is impossible (...

Re: Dragon Box Sound Quality: My Conclusion

I don't get people's objections. It's not like we were on the verge of getting an official release, only to have it ruined by this. The main guy behind the project totally bailed on the whole thing, and though Sabat did get a serviceable version of the audio, the chance for a release was and is sti...

I don't know if anyone heard the news yet, but someone managed to find and upload all of the original broadcast audio for the Japanese version of Dragon Ball Z . In light of that news, I'm wondering if DBZ Recut will use the broadcast audio (which is the closest we'll get to the quality of the orig...

It's about time, I say. I've always thought it to be absolutely absurd for one to keep something like this to themselves for so long, especially after the attempts to deliver it to the proper rights holders in hopes of an official release fell through. It's exciting that it's finally out there, and ...

Re: What's with this Beerus "The Destroyer" Business?

The term "God of Destruction" is dropped at least twice in the dub of BoG. This thread had me second guessing myself, but I, too, could swear that I've heard "God of Destruction" thrown around plenty of times in the movies and Super dub, alongside "Beerus the Destroyer".

Re: "Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters" Parts DVD/Blu-ray Thread

I noticed that, like the French release, this set contains the little title card intro before the theme song. These were not included on previous sets from Funimation, but can anyone tell me if they were intact on the previous French BDs/DVDs of episodes 1-98? They were included on the Japanese sets...
