The Japanese guides write the name in English? Then it's more of a 'Bulma' situation, where the more accurate (to the pun) English writing would be 'Blooma'.Chibi Mystic Gohan wrote:It's hard to say. Like I said, "Kiwi" is the official name, so that would technically be "most correct."

Re: Romanizations of Kyui
The food is written 'kiui' (for 'kiwi'), the name is 'kyui'. Assuming we pronounce 'Kew' similar to 'kyu' than the use of 'Kewi' is [most?] correct.

Re: What manga inspired and were inspired by Dragon Ball?
Common fan theory is that Monkey D. Luffy's Gear Second technique was inspired by the Kaiô-ken. You can clearly see the that in the coloring Toei Animation employs in animating it. The power and speed boost are represented as similarly, too. What's more, Gear Second is very stressful on Luffy's body...

I can at least understand Kamehame-Ha. I've theorized the hyphen signifies that the last 'Ha' is written in kanji. Actually, so is the '-Hô' of Gyallic-Hô. >_<

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming...
There's no such thing as a good Blue Water dub. That entire branch of Ocean needs to be shut down. This really, really, is not true. Considering G Gundam and Zeta Gundam, I must disagree. Those were bad dubs, too. Stiff and wooden acting with poor casting and character voices to hide the fact they ...

Of '-Ha', '-Pa', '-ken' and '-Dama'...
I believe I made a similar thread a while back asking about things like 'Gyû-Maô' and dashes...but now, techniques. I've seen 'Kaiô-ken' typically written with the '-ken' written with a lower case 'k' ('-ken' being for a type of martial art, I do believe). 'Taiyô-ken', too. However, 'Kamehame-Ha' (S...

Yeah, Dartarian Nickelback or something.
Clarke's with the SAG now so I do not believe he is allowed to do non-union work, i.e. work for FUNimation. He also probably doesn't want to fly out and house himself for peanuts.

Re: Dragonball Kai (FUNimation English) Dub: General Discussion
Which reminds me, does anybody know any way or form to contact Dameon Clarke? I tried sending him an email on his website but I kept getting a failed message sent notification. Reason I'm asking is because I really, really want him to return as Cell for Kai, and I'd like to ask him about his though...

Oh. It's just that whenever there are words that can be romanized out with "Ô" in them, I haven't seen them spelt with "oo". I haven't seen instances of "Daimaoo" or "Kaioo". And yeah, I would think that if you wrote "gureeto", I wouldn't think of i...

Re: "Raging Blast 2" Gigantic On-Going Gaming Discussion
Well, the series is called Dragon Ball: Raging Blast . In turn, I'd prefer it to be an all-encompassing series. It'll be a while before Spike has a new generation to move on to so theoritically we could go beyond three games and continually add in new characters. Chichi (adult) Namu God of Earth (li...

Re: Dragon Ball: The Live Action Series Thoughts?
My quick answer is...no. I'd rather see all that money put into animating new OVAs. Although maybe a J-Drama about Gohan's high school life would be awesome. Espicially with a mix of Tokusentai. :P Smallville wasn't anything like the source material, it could work just like that. Smallville has a do...

Oo (Ô/Oh) + za (tall sound) + ru (roo, roll the 'r' sound so it almost sounds like a 'd' sound).

Kusao's been deepening his voice a lot for Super Saiyan Grade 2-3, which might explain his sounding different.
Next week will likely cover two episodes, as this one did.

It's fake. The Kanzentai.com battle power guide would list any of these supposed facts if they were true.

Re: Namdai trademarks "Ultimate Butouden"&"Zenkai Battle Royale"
I love the look of the trailer. I find it humorous that not a single Super Saiyan was in the trailer, either. The roster isn't being touted as a selling point, either. I wonder if this is finally the game fans have been wanting. Only it's in Japan-only. :p EDIT: By the way, do we know who developed ...

Re: How Dragonball Kai should have looked:
Bones isn't known for doing 100+ episode series'. Also, Toei's busy enough with One Piece as is. And Digimon Xros Wars , which is a pretty awesome show. Digimon Xros Wars seems to be getting more care than One Piece is, though (likely because it'll only be a year long). One Piece --like Dragon Ball...

Re: Anyone actually liking Wakamoto better in Kai?
In addition to the director not being up to par...I wonder if there isn't an issue with the actors now having to match to [more] complete animation. I think the bulk of Dragon Ball Z was done with little to no ADR.
