Re: How would you feel if Toriyama killed your favorite character permanently?

A. How would you destroy the balls? They're pretty much indestructible. B. The radar doesn't have infinite range; in GT, it's pretty clear when they're going around the universe, Gill would go "Oh, hey, Dragon Ball detected!!" when there was one nearby. Goku would need to continuously IT ...

Re: How would you feel if Toriyama killed your favorite character permanently?

Well, sometimes you have to chose between logic way and entertaining way. I mean there are A LOT of things in DB that were done in not the most logic way. Goku also didn't have to die with Cell, he could go back to Earth. But they wanted it to be dramatic. Without Goku's death, this scene wouldn't ...

Re: How would you feel if Toriyama killed your favorite character permanently?

Easy, have him have more than 5 seconds of screentime before they decide to kill him and not kill him for such an out of nowhere and pointless reason. You're right. They'll have him spend an entire arc waxing philosophical about death or something and spoiling it everywhere so it's not even slightly...

Re: How would you feel if Toriyama killed your favorite character permanently?

Depens on how its done, some of my favourites are already killed and some were killed by Toriyama despite being still alive. Though I'm not sure how they'd kill off Piccolo well without it feeling like a rehash of GT. Easy, have him have more than 5 seconds of screentime before they decide to kill him...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

Piccolo got eliminated in the same goddamn way he got eliminated in the anime. Fucks sake. Why wasn't that changed in the manga? Because Toyotaro does not care about him at all to suggest a change(he can't even write him in character in the few times he appeared anyways) and Toriyama has been going...

Re: Has Super impacted your opinion on GT at all?

Would you have have the same opinion on the matter if they treated Vegeta the same way they treated? :P Do you mean would my opinion change if Vegeta also died ? Vegeta wasn't treated as good as I would've liked but he still got his time to (somewhat) shine. He was the person Baby picked as his mai...

Re: Has Super impacted your opinion on GT at all?

Why would it?Both are bad shows that have nothing to do with each other, granted i would propably dislike Super a lot more if i had not watched GT first. Buu, Piccolo & Goku satying "dead" was a bold move on GT's part as DB isn't known for permanent consequences. Buu is the same case as...

Re: Did Goku & Piccolo Ever Qualify For The 'Rival Boost' Properties Behind The Potara?

If Vegeta's 1 sided rivarly qualified for a 'Rival Boost' i don't see why it would not for Goku and Piccolo especially if you take their relationship from the Radditz era.

Re: What are your thoughts on Super Saiyan 3?

My favourite form design wise but the worst form in how it was inserted into the story,it was an asspull and retcon.
On top of that it was not even needed in the plot anyways.

Re: In defense of Goku in Smash bros

I would not mind him being included but i can see why they don't. (and before anyone tries to say otherwise... no, the "Pokémon Trainer" from Brawl was not Ash, despite the fact that they randomly gave him Ash's voice. It's Red, the main character of the first-generation games and their re...

Re: Who won Goku and Piccolo's first fight?

So what you are saying is that if Goku was not healed by outsiders,he would have won the match by tournament rules(since killing the would be against the rules)but lost the battle since Piccolo would kill him? When was Goku healed up again? I don't recall that. After he headbutted Piccolo when he r...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

The grand Elder's unlock was invalidated pretty fast when Gohan was unlocking more potential when he got mad that Frieza tortured Piccolo. That told everyone right there that what The Grand Elder pulled out was only a fraction of what Gohan was capable of. That told us that Toriyama is not consiste...

Re: Something I noticed in the "Piccolo Is Gohan's real dad" fanbase

If he was watching Gohan then he would know about Goten. I think he did. He just, naturally, hadn't met him in person yet. I don't know about that,he seemed pretty surprised that a mini version of him was there. Goku almost got Gohan killed,it was thanks to Satan and 16 that he made it alive and ev...

Re: Retcons: What are they?

How do we know there wasn't one? Because it would be stated or noted that his power was increased,1 zenkai would be enough for him to trample King Piccolo and make the Water useless. I honestly don't recall that moment. Chapter 501-502(the reason i don't post is because of different translations bu...

Re: Retcons: What are they?

Retcon usually is new information that overrides previous information that was presented to us and changes a past event to serve the current plot need. For example, while Goku being an alien does not contradict anything so it would not count as a retcon since it does not contradict anything despite ...

Re: Something I noticed in the "Piccolo Is Gohan's real dad" fanbase

Goku almost got Gohan killed,it was thanks to Satan and 16 that he made it alive and even then Gohan was lucky that Cell did not bother killing him before he turned ssj2. Also i don't see your point about the 'training' stuff since it is entirely plot relevant,Gohan had better gains when he trained ...

Re: How would the Z half of the series been different without the interference of Toriyama's editor?

Whatever , I agree with most of what you're saying, but I don't get this: The only other part that did not feel very natural was Gohan graduating from fodder status to strongest of the group to beating the main vilain out of nowhere. Is this about the manga or the anime? (I'm not versed with the ma...

Re: How would the Z half of the series been different without the interference of Toriyama's editor?

The Buu saga is a an example of little interference and i think stands as a good example as to why Toriyama needs to be on a leash. I would even go as far as to say the pre Buu saga editors saved the series. You have to take into account that he was very burned out at the time so it wasn't all beca...
