There are definitely improvements in the new frames, it's not saying a lot considering Episode 5 of Super was the worst Dragon Ball has ever looked, but I definitely won't lose sleep over the retouched images when I'm finally watching this on my own Blu-ray player.

I haven't seen the Japanese version of Kai, so I can't judge that.

The English version however, as stated before redeemed Funimation's dubbing mistakes.

Nonetheless, yes I do think Kai was necessary. It helped to reinvigorate hype for the franchise.

bruce falconer NEEDS TO DO THE MUSIC, he makes it sooo much more epic English dubs don't get replacement scores anymore.
