Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming.
Kix won't change the dub at this point. Showing 2 new episodes a day isn't something they just do with DBZ Kai but with all their shows. And by the time they've run all 53 episodes the newer part of the fanbase will be established and they wouldn't want them to mess with a show they already love and...

Re: DBZKai comes to the UK
That's correlation without necessarily causation, though. What else was going on at the time that switch happened? Were ratings down across the board for other shows? Was there a similar ratings drop on Cartoon Network US when the "Fusion Saga" stuff hit? Was it just that earlier episodes...

Re: Raditz, Goku's biggest challenge?
Well he seemed more scared against Raditz than against some of the later enemies. But I'd have to say Vegeta was a bigger challenge. He had every bone in his body crushed and was totally helpless without Gohan, Krillin and Yajirobe. Also Frieza was a very tough fight for him too, going on for a long...

Re: DBZKai comes to the UK
Kix are my heroes. I'm really hoping the show gets lots of marathons like with Toonami back in the day. Also people have said that Kix seem to be rushing through the series by airing 2 new episodes a day but they do this with all of their shows. And people have pointed out the Nicktoons logo being l...

Re: DBZKai comes to the UK
@RazorX Schemmel did start out as an impression of those 2 but has since developed his voice to sound like his own unique performance. Blue water Goku on the other hand never improved his voice and always sounded like a fake Kirby Morrow. And at least Schemmel was impersonating some actors that were...

Re: Realistically which games could be released in 2013?
They need to bring back Dimps and make a fully fledged Budokai sequel that plays like B3/IW rather than BL. Burst Limit was good but just didn't have the excitement that the Budokai series did. It could happen assuming Budokai HD Collection sold enough. Either way I think that Spike can't really do ...

Re: Tips on beating the final area in Budokai 2's Dragon Wor
You could try learning cancel combos so you can deal out some huge damage. I used to struggle with this fight on easy years ago but now I can perfect him on very hard thanks to combos. Or you could take the easier route and equip viral heart disease with vaccine. That way his health slowly goes down...

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
I actually like the original FUNimation dub of the Captain Ginyu saga. Granted the acting was mediocre at the time but I have nostalgia for it plus Faulconer's music was amazing. I actually like hearing Sabat's Drummond impression. What I didn't like in Season 2 of the orange Bricks was how they cha...

Re: DBZKai comes to the UK
Well as far as which dub is actually more popular does anybody remember that podcast from a few months back when Season 1 of the orange bricks got released here? It included an interview with the head of Manga UK and they discussed the release of the orange bricks and also discussed the different du...

Re: DBZ Budokai HD Collection: Official On-Going Thread
I got this Collection just after it came out and am still enjoying it. I actually think they did a really good job with the replacement music. Budokai 3 in particular looks great and is still the best DBZ game ever made. It would have been nice to have had an option for English voices in the PAL ver...

Well okay I apologise for that comment but it just gets on my nerves when people go posting stuff like that with no proof whatsoever and expect to be taken seriously.

Re: DBZKai comes to the UK
Ocean fans will always use that CNX situation as an argument but they have no proof. Can you give me official proof that that ratings dropped when FUNi aired or even didn't climb? FUNi didn't stop it from being the No.1 show in the old sagas so it wouldn't in the Fusion saga either. Actually, the h...

Re: DBZKai comes to the UK
@RazorX Well I can half agree with your 1st point. Ocean did seem to pick up a bit in the Fusion and Kid Buu sagas by adding new music after making half the series a bore with the same handful of megaman music but still didn't measure up to FUNi at that point. Anyway it all comes down to opinion in ...

Re: DBZKai comes to the UK
I agree that Blue Water Goku and Bulma were good but I wouldn't say any better than the FUNi version. Roshi on the other hand sounded MUCH better in FUNi. He managed to sound wise and perverted which is exactly how Roshi should sound. Blue Water Roshi sounded wise enough but failed at the perverted ...

Re: DBZKai comes to the UK
We actually got Blue Water's DB dub. While their GT dub was awful their DB dub was admittedly pretty decent. Not quite at FUNi's level but certainly more watchable than Westwood Ocean DBZ and Blue Water GT anyway.

Re: DBZKai comes to the UK
@RazorX Ocean's dub didn't start making referrences to death until the Fusion saga so we had most of the series with them saying "hurt" instead of "kill". That's why I said rarely instead of never. And that's what makes it more stupid. It was obvious that Cell had killed all thos...

Re: DBZKai comes to the UK
Well I think that's what hurt the Westwood dub the most. Poor production decisions such as megaman music that just didn't suit DBZ and lack of variety in the music. The voice acting wasn't terrible although it wasn't consistently good either. Going by what Schemmel said I worry that their Kai dub co...

Re: DBZKai comes to the UK
Well I think people need to bear in mind that Ocean's dub of Z was even more edited than FUNi's. Most of Vegeta's fight with Kid Buu was cut out by Ocean merely for commercial time. Asking for the Ocean dub so we can have less edits would only get us even more edits. Ocean's dub very rarely made ref...

Re: DBZKai comes to the UK
Well I'm from the UK and have never once heard it been called Zed. It works in the Japanese version but catches the ear wrong in English. Calling the good guys the Zed fighters would just sound stupid. Toonami/Cartoon Network/CNX always had it as Zee so that's what any English version of the show is...

Re: DBZKai comes to the UK
@dbboxkaifan DBZ is far from a dead franchise in the UK. It's many loyal fans have always remained and if you look on the Kix website and look at the comments that kids and teens have made about it you'll see that even people as young as them know about it and are already fans of it saying they've s...
