Re: On a scale of one to ten, how would you rate the series?

GT - 3/10 - I never saw much, but it's shit in my opinion. Ending was nice though. Never saw much, but you are more than confident in calling it shit? Overall I think the series is about an 8 for what it is, a fun martial arts fantasy. Let me just point out that most people hate it. The fact that y...

Re: DB/Z/GT Dubs

As an owner of the remastered blu-rays for Z, I must say it is an excellent product. It has the English dub and the option to listen to it with either "American Broadcast Audio" (Faulconer's score) or Kikuchi's score. There's also an option for the Japanese dub with Kikuchi's score as well...

Re: Would Z have been as successful on US TV if JPN BGM was

I think we should all join together despite our differences in favorite score creators whether it be Faulconer, Yamamoto, Levy, Sumitomo, or Kikuchi. I mean the reason we're all here is because we love Dragon Ball , right? We love seeing Goku's timeless adventures throughout Earth and the friendship...

Re: Would Z have been as successful on US TV if JPN BGM was

Take the two episodes you used earlier as examples. Dragon Ball Z Episode 95: "Transformed At Last!! The Legendary Super Saiyan ・ Son Goku" Dragon Ball Z Episode 245: "An Astounding, Great Transformation!! Super Saiyan 3" Music: Shunsuke Kikuchi Music Selection: Shigeru Miyashit...

Re: Funimation Buu release guess?

Even though people will probably just buy the DBZ bluray seasons. What's with the strike? I did exactly that due to Kai 2.0 's slow pacing, one episode a week, piss-poor "remastering," and bad music. I didn't want to wait and I'm glad I didn't. Got Season 9 on BD remastered for $26 after ...

Re: On a scale of one to ten, how would you rate the series?

I haven't completed Dragon Ball yet, so I will only rate what I've seen. Z - 8.5/10 - Loses points for poor animation and filler. Kai 1.0 - 8.3/10 - Loses points for Kikuchi's music, Yamamoto's removal Kai 2.0 - 5/10 - Not much good music, piss-poor "remastering." GT - 3/10 - I never saw m...

Re: Would Z have been as successful on US TV if JPN BGM was

Faulconer never understood the tone of the show. Are you sure? Because when I watch either Z or Kai 1.0 with Kikuchi's score, I see nothing except fail as he can't get the most amazing moments properly scored and there isn't much music to the series. Faulconer, on the other hand, created a new tone...

Re: Would Z have been as successful on US TV if JPN BGM was

Music can help a mood, but if done terribly, it can ruin it, overwhelm it, or convey the wrong mood. And lack of music can also convey something. Music is the sizzle, but you still need the steak. Yes and I think that the music made by Faulconer added something that Kikuchi's score missed. In my op...

Re: Dragon Ball Kai Ending #5

Honestly, I like Galaxy . I mean...I'm not really sure if it "fits" the series (More than Clover Z, though. That's for sure) but I think it's definitely an alright ending for what it is. Plus, I like the song. I love "Galaxy," I just wish I could get some English lyric...

Re: Would Z have been as successful on US TV if JPN BGM was

Someone on the last page said that the Dragon Ball Wiki is a bad source of information. I didn't know that, so here's a slightly better one concerning Faulconer's influence on the American version of Dragon Ball Z . Dragon Ball Z also proved to be a rating success in the United States, as the premie...

Re: And we all thought Toei was lazy with Kai...

I'll never understand the popularity of a show like Yu-Gi-Oh!.. it's whole purpose was to sell cards.. It has great characters, good story, nice music and fun action? Agreed. The Duel Monsters portion of the series was said by Takahashi to try and show values he believed in and lessons he wanted to...

Re: Would Z have been as successful on US TV if JPN BGM was

I don't think it would have been as successful because it didn't fit the U.S. style. Back in those days we constantly had new scores for Americanized shows that are more action-y and fast. I'm bad at explaining it but there is no need. From the Dragon Ball Wiki: Faulconer's music is attributed to ha...

Re: Boo Arc in KAI is being poorly made?

My main issues with Dragon Ball Kai (Buu Saga) are that the remastering is poorly done having a green tint and being cropped. If you watch the original Dragon Ball Kai you can tell there was real effort put into it to make it look good. This loses all of that. Then we have the score. I don't dislike...

Re: What happened to Vegeta saying I will never fight again.

Honestly my opinion of the entire thing was that after his rival Goku died, Vegeta simply lost the will to fight since he would never be able to prove he was #1 and reclaim his honor of the Prince of all Saiyans. Then his pride was obliterated when Goku's son surpassed him as well despite being only...

Re: Goku's Virus [Revival of F theory speculation]

^ The yardrat thing seems to be generally accepted as what happened from what I've seen, it certainly makes sense for intents and purposes story wise heh. Interesting. I always thought it was officially stated somewhere that Goku contracted it from Yardrat. Looking at the Dragon Ball Wiki it doesn'...

Can two fusions fuse? Can two potara fusions fuse do you think? Are earrings re-useable? How many sets did we see in the manga? Two? I don't know about those who've done the fusion dance, but I remember Old Kai stating that "once fused you can never fuse again" when he gave Goku the earrin...

Re: The Real Problem with the Buu arc

Yes, Kaioshin's "plans" failed cuz the Saiyans weren't acting the way he expected but the only reason his "plans" failed cuz the Saiyans were a shit tons stronger than he expected so you can't really give him credit at all. Deliberately allowing Spopovich and Yamu to steal Gohan...

First off I am a new user. Hello everyone! Now on to business. Kaioshin's a dumbass. He deserves to be ignored. Thank you so much for saying that. Kaioshin's "plan" of defeating Majin Boo was so insanely stupid and in my opinion, was the catalyst for the Majin Boo arc even happening...
