But Robin Shou is gay ("bisexual" is the more technical term for Robin). So what? We dont leik therr kynde 'round haer. ps. eww he gay. ( just making fun of the fact that the guy was actually seriously when he wrote the comment about the gay actor, with no actual details to back...

Now lets not get prickish. To me, I just think it wouldn't be quite right if Goku was anything but Asian. Anime characters look so far out that you can't really say they look like a certain race. Though, if you notice, most anime live action adoptions have asian actors. This is probably because thes...

Shit was hot fire. Learned some interesting stuff. I actually got quite a few of the original Viz DBZ graphic novels for real cheap at a thrift store some time ago. Too bad they're scattered around my house. The weekly (monthly?) comic book just seemed like a stupid idea entirely, though. Oh, and I ...

Ugh. That's the thing, It makes perfect sense if you do take it literately, too. I would've preferred " I have your DNA ". Maybe they were purposely trying to lead the fans on. You couldn't possibly have known that he actually meant " I just have your DNA and am not actually related t...

So did I. I just thought ( and still think ) it's a stupid line. Yes I know exactly what they were trying to say. Don't care if it was in the original .

Lol @ young Go-han. I remember either hearing that in once of the first few Z movies or the Ocean dub.

It was smart for them to stretch that " 10 seconds left on Namek!" ( actually 100 episodes ). Good way to develop characters and add some separation between the manga nad the anime.

There are some (like me) who will argue that Pilaf may well have not been considered truly "evil" because he's such an ineffectual dipshit. In other words, while his intentions may be bad, his stupidity renders him so harmless he could also be considered "non-threatening" and th...

I just have to comment on the "I'm thankful to FUNi for introducing me to the series, I never would've heard of it otherwise" crap that's luckily been a lot less prevalient here than on other forums. DragonBall is one of the most popular cartoons in the world, and it's been highly success...

The site posted earlier was pretty good. Never thought about the whole Pilaf thing in GT. What's sad is that it's not like the Buu saga ended long before GT started. I think they had enough time to realize something that just happened . Guess they just wanted to milk the series for what it's worth a...

I'm a sophomore and I have very little friends in highschool. But one of the one friends that I do have told me that he liked anime. He listed various anime titles and near the end he said " Dragon Ball Z, that's like my favorite anime ever " and I felt a bit of relief.

I will argue to the death that dub-wise (excluding the excessive editing) seasons 1 and 2 were much better than anything that came after it in terms of DBZ.
I was referring to the fact that he made a ton of money off of minimal work. But sure, lets go with that.

In sum, Saban is a genius. Yeah. DB is a hot IP. Anybody could have picked that up and got huge and it just so happens the nephew did. It probably still would've been on Toonami, only difference is that maybe DB would've aired first . DBZ was first put on Toonami in 98. Sure, it's the longest runnin...

Ah crap, man, this is hard. I remember seeing DBZ syndicated on WB television once, but I watched it predominately on Toonami since 98. I was 6 back then, I don't know what it was about it, but something about DBZ really got me to love the series. I'm coming up on my 10 year anniversary. I haven't s...

Funimation isn't " that bad" 4kids is that bad. Funimation actually left the series with some integrity . You all talk about Funimatino like they're 4kids in disguise. The messed up part is that DBZ seems like it's the only series that they couldn't get right. I think they reached a point ...
