Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
For me, it'd go - Dragon Ball: The five 'Blue Brick' Season Sets. Dragon Ball Z: The nine 'Orange Brick' Season Sets. Dragon Ball GT: The two 'Yellow Brick' Season Sets (which also includes the TV Special). Dragon Ball Films: I've got the single re-release of the first film, then the old box set (n...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
I still feel it will be 4:3 now the issue is it will be in a super expensive collectible box set that not everyone can afford. Saying everyone bought 16:9 in the past well yeah because it was a cheap option. Cheap AND the only option, mind you I suppose that speaks for itself of just how much i car...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
If patience was a factor here they should have waited to announce the things until they knew they were doing it right. Well, they've gotten fans excited and hyped up so I'd not be surprised that the pre-order stock will be sold out within an hour, if even. They're going for a really limited quantit...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
Do you think the number being raised to 3,000 puts this release more at risk or is this a small formality?

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
Aww ok well I know the dragon boxes suffer from color issues because of the film they used. It will be interesting if this new set is 4:3 if they color correct them like I see a lot of people do. I would not be opposed to this as the colors are not quite correct. And would give us literally the best...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
I really hope this release ends up being 4:3 and not cropped or DNR'd into oblivion, because we are long overdue for a proper remaster that doesn't look absolutely horrendous. Here are some comparisons that show just how desperately a good remaster is needed. Original: https://i.imgur.com/S6qMYVH.p...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
It’s amazing how great the Dragon Boxes are compared to every other set on the market I but in my blu rays and just went yuck. Then in my Dragon Boxes and went wow :O. I forgot just how great they are, I try not to watch them a lot since dvds scratch easily 😭. Watching this again makes me want that ...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
Let’s just say this is the 4:3 set we have all wanted, is it possible this still never sees the light of day? There are so many dub fans disgusted with Funimation with the whole Kick Vic issue, then you got sub fans saying they won’t buy this no matter what, not to mention the fans that are saying a...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
So, we all know the only reason they're not using a crowdfunding site like Kickstarter is because they would legally have to release these details before asking for money right? I'm lucky enough to own the Dragon Boxes which is the only complete, unedited, and uncut release DBZ has ever had in the ...

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
I understand but keep in mind even though the dragon boxes are amazing a 4:3 faithful release would end up being better due to the color issues on the Dragon Boxes. If Toei animation is doing the remastering process which I would say by all accounts they are this product is going to be stellar

Re: Funimations 30th anniversary collectible home video release
I have a feeling that this set will be $500, just seems like the bare minimum for it to be a profitable venture. 2,500 x 500 = 1,250,000 That's an easy $1m in their pockets and another $250k bubble to cover design, manufacturing, shipping, customer mishaps etc. Any purchases beyond 2,500 are a bonu...

Re: Will you be getting 30th anniversary set?
As long as it meets two requirements:
Has the show in 4:3 and not just a repackage
Is in a collectors style box and not just blu ray cases
Anything beyond that is bonus but if it has everything I expect it to fair msrp will be $499.99
