Where's SSJ Pan?
Where's SSJ Pan?
Why haven't we seen a SSJ Pan yet? Where's she at? Akira Toriyama said before that she never got the transformation because he didn't know how her transformation would look, but we've had a few female SSJ's already in the Heroes games. They give people new forms in games all the time, all those SSJ3's, but they've never revisited Pan. That's messed up yo.
Also, thinking about it, she hasn't been in any of the recent games, has she? What, is she unpopular or something?

Hopefully, she is on the way to Dragon Ball Heroes.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Re: Where's SSJ Pan?
I can understand no SSJ Bra, because, I mean, she's not a fighter. I'm not sure if she can even fire energy. But Pan's strong. I think the excuse for her not to have went super in the first place was BS anyway, since Goten and Trunks just stumbled upon it as children, and they had no reason to transform like everyone else needed. Pan really should have had a form. She even had moments where she was really mad or really upset, and she gets no form. And with all the what ifs in the games, I can't believe Bardock got a SSJ form before Pan did (though that wasn't in a game). At this rate, Nappa will probably get a SSJ form before Pan does.

Re: Where's SSJ Pan?
I've been wondering this ever since I watched GT honestly. People often say that even giving Goten and Trunks the Super Saiyan form cheapened it - and it does honestly, to some degree anyway - but when you look at it just skipping Pan only to give Super Saiyan to Goku Jr. and Vegeta Jr. at the end...gah. She's just been gypped ever since she was first introduced in her older form.
I hope she gets the form in Heroes, cuz I'd love to have some cool art of it.

Maybe she inherited Gohan's Mystic power. She does have the Mystic eyes.
(I know Gohan goes SSJ in GT. It's... really a shame

Re: Where's SSJ Pan?
I guess this sums it up. We won't ever see it probably, not in a movie at least, maybe a game, but it really should have happened by now. Pan's been denied a SSJ form for like 15 years. Actually, I don't think I'm gonna buy another fighting DBZ game until I get a SSJ Pan.Gyt Kaliba wrote:When you look at it just skipping Pan only to give Super Saiyan to Goku Jr. and Vegeta Jr. at the end...gah. Mystic eyes? I don't see it. (But, yeah, that's not a very convincing explanation anyway).Marco Polo wrote:Maybe she inherited Gohan's Mystic power. She does have the Mystic eyes.
Re: Where's SSJ Pan?
I think that's an untrue rumor. As far as I remember, no interview has ever been found where he's said such a thing.Zidiane wrote:Akira Toriyama said before that she never got the transformation because he didn't know how her transformation would look
I don't know why they didn't make her a Super Saiyan in GT, but I suppose even if they had, she wouldn't have gotten to do much more than the other regular ol' Super Saiyans got to do--which wasn't much more than she did without Super Saiyan, really. The main reason we haven't seen her as a Super Saiyan in anything since then is probably that she hasn't really been in much. She's not even born in Battle of Gods, after all. It would have been nice if a video game had given her the transformation, like how they gave all the Saiyans Oozaru.
I've always been partial to this design for her Super Saiyan form. It makes more sense than slapping Goku/Goten hair on her, given her normal hair style.

Re: Where's SSJ Pan?
I think, in the case of GT, she stands out a little more by not being SSJ, and she wears that bandana. Obviously there's no concrete evidence, but I don't think it's crazy to theorize that Toei might have seen Pan as a possible female face/mascot character the show never really had outside of Bulma, and anything to make her stick out from the other Saiyans was a positive, from a marketing standpoint.

They have had GT characters and SSJ4 in nearly every game since they've been out. Omega Shenron was in Ultimate Tenkaichi. I mean... her not being alive in BoG isn't a very good point, because SSJ4 didn't happen yet, but that's still in games. Pan's even in that new Heroes game for the 3ds (along with many other GT characters and five made up SSJ3s).Bussani wrote:The main reason we haven't seen her as a Super Saiyan in anything since then is probably that she hasn't really been in much. Looks too much like Broly hair. I like the idea behind this one, with her keeping her bandana on.I've always been partial to this design for her Super Saiyan form. It makes more sense than slapping Goku/Goten hair on her, given her normal hair style.

I don't think that was really what he was thinking. But I'm not him, so I don't know.B wrote:I think, in the case of GT, she stands out a little more by not being SSJ, and she wears that bandana. That's why I said it would have been nice if they'd given it to her in a game. I wasn't talking about games there, either. I just meant that we haven't gotten many stories since GT that Pan actually plays a part in.I mean... her not being alive in BoG isn't a very good point, because SSJ4 didn't happen yet, but that's still in games.
It reminds me more of Trunks's, but longer.Looks too much like Broly hair.

Re: Where's SSJ Pan?
You may be on to something there B. I could see it being them wanting her to stand out a little maybe, but...I dunno. When your way of making someone stand out is not giving them what's almost a rite of passage for the main characters at that point, and you make it a point to give it to their descendant...just feels off to me IMO.B wrote:I think, in the case of GT, she stands out a little more by not being SSJ, and she wears that bandana. And as far as the 'not sure what it would look like' thing, I've never gotten that argument, even back when I did think Toriyama had said it. Why would a female Super Saiyan look any different than a male one? Blonde hair, turquoise eyes, super strength...boobs. That's a female Super Saiyan.

Re: Where's SSJ Pan?
I have always wondered about SSJ Pan too.
Not only would it be cool, but we would get to see what a Female SSJ would be like.
SSJ Pan could easily be shown in almost any game in a "What if" scenario.

We need her more than SSJ3 Vegeta or SSJ3 Future Trunks... It would just be more original than the usual stuff.TheGmGoken wrote:Why do we even need SSJ Pan? Makes her more unique that way

If they get Bra to be a fighter in a game, it would be great.
