For a fighting game, and especially a Dragon Ball fighting game, that is a success in my book.

So another 19,450 copies for the week. The game is actually holding up surprisingly well, far more so than any of the other DBZ fighting games. That's more copies than Raging Blast sold in it's second week, in fact it's already sold about as many copies as Raging Blast period.

That's 127,280 copies total then without the Xbox versions.

Burst Limit sold 163,000 copies on PS3 in Japan in 2008 so we'll have to see if it goes that high.

Also, did Raging Blast must have suffered a huge drop off in sales in it's second week for Xenoverse to do better than it in such a short space of time. I guess shit must have hit the fan really quickly for them to realise so fast that Raging Blast was not all it was cracked up to be.

Raging Blast dropped 71% in sales in its second week and then another 42% in it's third week. Xenoverse dropped 63% in it's second week and 33% in it's third week which is pretty good.

I reckon Xenoverse 2 would perform much better in the long run. Wouldn't you?

Xenoverse has the the extra push from the new movie so I wouldn't be surprised if the numbers didn't drop much for a while.

I'm fairly certain a Xenoverse 2 would do better Lord Beerus, they'll just need to listen to the fanbase and possibly some reviewers to find the most common complaints.

Xenoverse's main complaints from the reviews I've seen is that:
- The roster is not large enough
- Audio issues
- The Hub is a bit confusing to use at times
- Lag in team battles
- Story is centered around hardcore fans of the show (Stupid complaint, but I've seen it a lot)

It moved up two places from fifth. I guess positive word-of-mouth is having effect on its performance.

Better than Xenoverse you mean? I'm actually not too sure to be honest. You'd expect that in a couple years maybe when a Xenoverse 2 were to come out that they'd only make it for the PS4 and Xbox One and that's what they should do but then that could hurt the sales in Japan being that there would be no PS3 version.

In Japan the PS3 version is selling better because the PS4 hasn't really taken off like it has in the West because Home consoles are losing popularity over there. In the West though Xenoverse will sell multiple times better on the PS4/Xbox One.

Yeah, I see what you mean. I should have clearer with what I originally said. I mean, given the largely positive reception Xenoverse has been getting, an improved sequel could do Budokai/Tenkaichi numbers. But in Japan... yeah... sales would dip considerably. Unless they release the game on the PS Vita and/or 3DS as well as one the PS4 and Xbox One.

I think this was a problem they sort of had before when the PS3 was new, they made Burst Limit exclusively for the new consoles but then made another game Infinite World for the old consoles and in Japan Infinite World sold the better out of the two because far more people owned a PS2.

But yeah like you said maybe they could release a handheld version like they did with Battle of Z which did do well compared to the PS3 version.

When I looked after your post was made it had got up to #9 and I now I just looked again and it's moved up to #6.

How can anyone not know the story to Dragon Ball Z already?

I guess most non-fans didn't play the past DBZ games. Xenoverse looked good enough that more non-fans decided to buy it and play it.

Vgchartz Pre-order charts for February 14th now has Xenoverse at having almost 94,000 pre-orders not including the X360 version.

I was also looking on some UK websites and saw that the game was the #1 best selling game on Play.com and Gameseek, was high up on the Pre-order charts on Zavvi and Tesco and was out of stock on Simply Games.
