It doesn't matter if they're different franchises, it's still possible because like the Pokemon games, they have the same game engine. There's really nothing shocking about it.

You both are right, don't know why it cost you so much to agree.
Yes, being the same engine and the same developer it's possible (but not necessarily easy) to make this. You are right. In the other hand, this is something really unusual. We have seen many games that contain a crossover from diferent franchises, but two individual games from different franchises that can be played together it's not that usual. In fact I can't recall any case like this either. So yes, this news are a bit "shocking".

I wonder if both sides will be balanced character-wise lol. Will we be able to do a Beam Struggle against One Piece characters, considering plenty of them focus on physical combat? Against Ace/Akainu I can see it, but against Doflamingo or Luffy, hm...

Just how good is this game? Is it worth the lack of playable characters? And is there any way to get a SSGSS Goku code?

I'm just saying I don't think it's ever happened this way (two franchises cross play). It's a new feature that I don't think has happened before.
It's easy as snot to get it to happen because of the engines, of course. This is why I expected Injustice 2 and Mortal Kombat X to do it, even as different of games as they are.
My point is that as far as I know, they've pioneered something.

The codes for SSGSS Goku and a bunch of random assists are in various websites. They're universal like old cheat codes, not redeemable per unit.Anime Kitten wrote:Just how good is this game? Is it worth the lack of playable characters? And is there any way to get a SSGSS Goku code?

Is the One Piece game even coming to the West? I know One Piece isn't very popular here, so I doubt we'll get the game and this update.

One Piece much more popular in the West than people want to give it credit for. It's just not "Dragon Ball" level popular.ShadowDude112 wrote:Is the One Piece game even coming to the West? I know One Piece isn't very popular here, so I doubt we'll get the game and this update.

OP is not as big as Naruto and Dragon Ball, but it does a good size fanbase. One Piece never kick off as big as those two due to One Piece being dub by 4kids which turn people away from it. Not to mention Naruto did over shadow it when it was on Toonami back in 2005.

I really enjoyed the new stories they came up with for this one. Honestly, I think the "Bad Guys Saga" and the Adventure Mode stories would make better plots for films than any of the actual movies they've made since the revival started.
Bad Guys Saga was a lot of fun until the ending; I hate Beerus and Whis so it was really infuriating seeing them come in to deus ex machina things to a close. Just let the villains win! (Oh, and Bardock being revived made absolutely no sense at all)

In Adventure Mode, using Mirai Trunks as the sixth Saiyan was genius, I thought it was much better than how BOG played it out.
I liked the villain story, but the adventure one was just weird. They attempted to write a post-GT story, in spite of being stuck using Buu Saga inspired sprites for most of the cast - and they ended up not using most GT characters anyway even though they have assists in the game, leaving them to be unlocked only through codes.

Hard to say, we get most One Piece games these days, but this particular One Piece game flopped really hard in Japan, but at the same time fighting games are bigger in the west than in Japan.ShadowDude112 wrote:Is the One Piece game even coming to the West? I don't know how much in US, but One Piece here is pretty much popular among Otaku, who are watching ''Wan Peesu'' because it is so popular in Japan.Lord Beerus wrote:One Piece much more popular in the West than people want to give it credit for. Dragon Ball for example is pretty much unpopular among otaku here, because of it's ''outdated'' designs and animation (it's not looking like Pretty Cure or Evangelion with their generic designs that otaku like),
but is surprisingly popular among average people, because it ran on TV in times that there was not much of an internet and somehow, it does appeal to lot of people.
So One Piece probably has considerable fanbase, but only among hardcore anime fans in where I come from.

Oh hey, look at that bump.
Downloaded this during the current 3DS sale, and I'm enjoying it more than expected. I've finally gotten the hang of everyone's basic combos, including the dash-cancel chains, and so far am liking Super Saiyan Goku, Cell, and (Extreme(!!)) Nappa the best (ignoring the ridiculous things Super Saiyan Blue Goku can do; and I suspect I'll look to practice with Broli over Nappa once I unlock him).
Has anyone found combos that work really well in Extreme Survival mode? I've only been experimenting so far, though #8 and Karin work nicely with quick recovery time.
Also, is anyone aware of what inputs are actually necessary when you get into physical clashes? The computer never seems to be able to do much in beam struggles, but always beats me in those clashes in Extreme Survival, so I'm guessing it's not straight button mashing like I thought.
Also, also, is there any point to assists like Super #17, or other high-cost, high-recovery-time ones that only fire off a single blast or strike? Is it a damage thing? So far the only one I've found who seems worth a 7-point cost (occasionally) is Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta. Vados lowering defense for both players kind of baffles me, as there are so many attack-boosters for your character alone, at lower costs.

Pretty sure in beam clashes, you press A and you win. Not sure about the physical clashes. How do you get those to happen again? If you could jog my memory, I could help out a bit better.
