Cha la head cha la English:question for VegettoEX

Post by majinvegetaGT » Tue Oct 16, 2007 5:11 pm

I have a music question for VegettoEX. In the English version for Cha la head cha la by Mr. Kageyama why didn't it make it to the Us version of Dbz. Why did he do the song in English and lastly is this song available to buy in any cd store on the net?

This one is better: http://idbz.ytmnd.com/

Anyways, the "why" is because the Engrish Head Cha-La is a sordid tale of a serial flasher who, after escaping from prison, collects Sonic and dog pr0n.

Because the image the US version wanted to go for was original. Original music and everything. Would be weird if they had the Japanese-esque opener, and then original American music.

Because at the time the dub was made, they idea of just brining a Japanese show over and being completely true to the series was unheard of. Funi didn't know how to do it, nor did most of the industry ( specifically of shows being brought to TV ). So it's more of an adaption than anything else. Check out anime brought over to America before and around the time of DB. By those standards, we're lucky DBZ wasn't somehow spliced with Kenshin. By those standards, Funimation did a good job.

They seem to have gotten it with DB, but because DAN DAN was too pussy for them...well...you know what we got....

PS that " FUCK YOU " had to be intentional at the end of that.

Despite the interpretations, I still hear "Sparking" st the end of the song, and it sounds very much the same as the "Sparking" at the end of the origional Head Cha La. I can't hear "Spank Me" at all, and "Fucking" isn't all that close either.

Yeah, now that you think of it, that is " Sparking!!!!" at the end of the song. I didn't even hear that S or P sound before you mentioned it.

I guess I wanted to hear " FUCK YOU!!!" so I made myself hear it. Or my mind is so far in the gutter that I just don't know anymore.

The Kidmard Dragonball Dub used English versions of the Original Opening/Ending

No they didn't O_o;;

FUNimation did, however.
