Insert "then the suffering souls who have been chained to the cyclical wheel of fate can, at the very least, finally be released" joke here.

And the thread would be locked, probably.

I looked up the latest convention McNeil did and he mentioned that he "just did more on Kai" so take that however you will. You could speculate that they recorded more stuff perhaps for the Buu arc but I seriously doubt it at this point. He's probably just remembering the stuff they recorded for the Cell arc.

I honestly wonder if the actors are even aware that this dub hasn't been released yet. I wish people who went to these panels had the balls to at least question him about it, if he came to the UK I know I would. I get that you're supposed to respect NDAs and what not but at this point I've run out of patience with it and we're in serious need of some closure.

I will never stop being excited
This 2016 release dub will be fantastic because of the seeming lack of deadlines for the actors

Just talked to Brian Drummond, he doesn't even know the progress of Ocean Kai and said it's going slow.

I suspect he's still under an NDA.

Wouldn't he deny having ever worked in Kai if he were, like Schemmel and Sabat did with BoG?

Technically saying that he "doesn't even know the progress of Ocean Kai" would count, wouldn't it?

At 1:10 Brendan Hunter mentions doing Tien on Dragon Ball Kai.

So now we have:
Lee Tockar - Freeza, Character with claws
Scott McNeil - Piccolo, Jeice etc.
Brian Drummond - Vegeta
Michael Dobson - Nappa
Brendan Hunter - Tenshinhan

Yeah okay, but they might've made a dub nobody will ever see.

Just an FYI,

Since I'll be at Anime Weekend Atlanta in a couple weeks, I will attempt to ask Scott McNeil about any developments regarding Kai. But don't get too excited... if the man has an NDA to stick to, I'll respect that and his right to keep quiet about it.

So, in short: I'll keep you all updated if I do hear any updates, but don't expect a whole lot, if anything, to be disclosed. We'll see what develops.
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.

I dunno, I think your chances are better than you think...of all the cast members, McNeil is probably the one who has disregarded his NDA the most.

If he agrees to answer some questions, I'd love for you to ask him about returning actors/actresses and who will be voicing Goku this time around. Also, I'm sure we'd all like to know if they have started dubbing the Buu Saga yet considering he said about a month or two ago that they did "more of Kai" so I'm curious to know what he meant by that.

Why does this dub exist?
Who is paying for this?

Is Peter Kelamis possibly coming back to voice Goku at some point (whether it's in Kai or new Dragon Ball redubs)?

Nope, he's not. It has already been confirmed that the new voice for Goku in the Ocean dub (should we ever see it) is a new voice actor who hasn't played the role before. The hints we have so far are:

-Apparently he's an unexpected choice. It has been said that, when we find out who it is, our reaction will mostly be a big collective, "....Huh? You picked him?....Well, OK....." But that he apparently will do an awesome job.
-He previously played a role in English that was played by Kappei Yamaguchi in Japanese.

Given those two hints, the two biggest suspects at the moment are Alessandro Juliani and Richard Cox. Besides all that, Peter Kelamis said via Twitter that he had no idea what Kai was and wasn't asked to audition for it.

Quick update, guys:

9/28/2014 -- I managed to sit in on Scott McNeil's Saturday Q&A, since his flight was late and didn't make it to his Q&A on Friday... I wasn't able to record the panel, but there were plenty of folks with video cameras in the audience, so I'm sure the panel will end up on YouTube soon enough.

Luckily, I was one of the first audience members to ask him, so I thanked him for his time and then asked him if he could divulge anything about the "Canadian production of Dragon Ball Kai":

He told us that he didn't really "care for NDAs", and then remarked that they have "finished" with recording Dragon Ball Kai.

He then told us another interesting tidbit: Back when they dubbed it in the 90's/early 00's, it was considered by most of the cast/crew to be just "another project", but for Kai, he noted that the producers and cast involved were giving the show more time and care than in the original show. Interestingly, he also defended the standard English pronunciation of "Namek (Naa-mek)", and he questioned the producers' decisions to pronounce it as "Naw-mek"; explaining that he knew the show and the Piccolo character for years, and that he felt it should still be pronounced the old way.

Like I said, I don't have any video recordings, but I can assure you these statements are accurate. If anyone posts the panel on YouTube, I'll be sure to link to it.
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.
