Please let Yurin be Launch. I miss her.
Gokû and 17 two parter could be good. Toshio's Gokû is hit or miss.
Fukushima doing the Piccolo and Tenshinhan episodes makes me think they'll be comedic.

I know, but if the manga doesn't do something then it's almost definitely not from Toriyama and it feels less real to me. It doesn't matter completely but they'res a small part of me that'll be dissapointed if the prelims aren't from Toriyama.HeroR wrote:Does it matter? I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

I'll just be paraphrasing most things. Basically, what I think is important/interesting enough.Sodhi wrote:

Shigeru Nakahara reprises his role as #17 (apparently, he was married to Zen'ou's Satomi Koorogi

I think it says #18 is the youngest sibling (did we knew this already?) but the kanji is really small so I can't be sure.
The article describes #17: an artificial human created by Gero to kill Goku but ended up killing his creator. Around 10 years have passed since then (timeline guys, where does this put Super at?). Dende will tell Goku #17 is in a big southern island and he'll be shown riding a jeep and watching the sunset. He's now calmer than before and a gentleman (most likely just a way of saying he's a nice guy now). Is #17 married and with a family now?
Goku and #17 know eachother's face and name (ok, magazine, if you say so) but this is the first time they meet. Will #17 remain composed when Goku comes scouting him? Yeah, pretty sure he will.
Producer Hiroyuki Sakurada's interview:
- What is #17's appeal?
He's cool, handsome and has a youthful heart. Even when trying to kill Goku, he acted like it was a game.
- In what way is #17 a gentleman?
He's a gentleman towards Nature all around. Since, unlike humans, plants and animals' needs are very simple, he just wants to live in peace surrounded by that natural order of things. His values are peculiar, so he won't be giving his ok to Goku that easily because he's the kind of guy that, even if told the Earth will get destroyed, he'd probably think "Well, that's just the way things are". Better yet, I have the feeling he'd just say "so what?" if he found out the truth.
- If so, what reason do you think he'd have were he to accept to participate?
He'd think it would be fun. But he probably wouldn't accept if it wasn't Goku scouting him.
- As a fan, I'm looking forward to Goku and #17's first battle.
#17 didn't have many fights in the original story nor in the anime up until now. Apparently, Akira Toriyama didn't have the opportunity to display his strength but he is also giving his approval, saying #17 has great potential.

Nothing, the past arcs took place a little over 10 years after the Cell games.alakazam^ wrote: Around 10 years have passed since then (timeline guys, where does this put Super at?).

It's paraphrased, but yes. They talk about Kuririn and #18 being married with a daughter and wonder if #17 is the same.ArchedThunder wrote:Is this something that is actually said in the magazine?

I agree. I'm just so used to associating Fukushima with comedy episodes that I found it odd they're using him here. Piccolo and Gohan feels like it should be a King Ryu or a Tomioka episode.Beyond wrote:I hope not 88 being played for a joke won't end well.Chuquita wrote:Please let Yurin be Launch. I miss her.

Fukushima is fine. He is used for in between episodes, and that is what #88 will be. He has done episodes like #59 in past, which had the beerus killing zamasu scene.

You say he's fine, but Episode 59 was a pretty bad episode outside of a single scene.Sodhi wrote:Fukushima is fine. He is used for in between episodes, and that is what #88 will be. He has done episodes like #59 in past, which had the beerus killing zamasu scene.

I think it's safe to say that Toyo-tarou probably only drew those panels for the promotional video and isn't actually all that far ahead. Certainly not with how the animated series is drawing the story out so much like it is.ArchedThunder wrote:He's already ahead, remember the December PV that used manga panels from his version of this arc? It's just that as far as finished and released chapters go he's behind the anime.perucho1990 wrote:About the manga, Toyo would just draw a page or 2 about Goku and Gohan recruiting the team members and then heading to the Tournament of Power.
Toyo will be ahead of the anime if he ends the Trunks Arc this month.

Tbh, I really don't remember content of #59. I thought it was good, but apparently not. If not then nvm, and hopefully #88 is not offensive.Jinzoningen MULE wrote:

It was just a poorly organized, substanceless in-between episode. In the same vein as Episode 60, only slightly better.Sodhi wrote:Tbh, I really don't remember content of #59. I thought it was good, but apparently not. If not then nvm, and hopefully #88 is not offensive.Jinzoningen MULE wrote:

For future reference, in case you didn't know already, you can tack this business onto the end of the Twitter image URLs to get better resolution:alakazam^ wrote:I think it says #18 is the youngest sibling (did we knew this already?) but the kanji is really small so I can't be sure.

I learned that trick from TheDevilsCorpse.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
The most important piece of news here is #18 being revealed to be an imouto. I require her using the word onii-chan now and forever toward #17.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
For the record, Toyotaro's Dragon Ball Super adaption isn't dropping in-and-out of promotional status. It's a V-Jump product therefore it's promotional by definition. In no way should one think lessor of the series because of this as it's simply matter of fact & devoid of opinion (I'm assuming the artistic merit is under question since that's usually the root cause of this particular discussion). I believe the Yu-Gi-Oh! series published in V-Jump features complete stories, too (& I don't think its community has an apparent issue discerning that their alternate continuities defer to their animated adaptions). At any rate, if this distinction is relatable, think of the two sources as novel & film differences.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:I said whole product, nothing in the Manga is fleshed out we jumping all over the place arc to arc drawback being only monthly & if they skip ahead then it's back to promo status. The gr wrote: The manga stopped being a promo Manga, since chapter 10,is a product of his own

Lol, that would be hilarious. Anyways, I wasn't expecting #18 to be the younger one. I mean she's the one who's 18.JulieYBM wrote:The most important piece of news here is #18 being revealed to be an imouto. I require her using the word onii-chan now and forever toward #17.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Again we don't know anything*, Toyo's Manga is monthly, Toriyama is writing for a weekly TV show things are supposed to be fleshed out between plot points, it's why the anime feels whole unlike the Manga. I don't know where you are getting the idea the preliminary are "filler" when it was the PV for arc, our introduction to the Gods and Angels, all the exposition dump for the ToP and on top of that setting up the Jiren confrontation. As well as showcasing Buu and bringing Gohan back into the fold.kinisking wrote:I know, but if the manga doesn't do something then it's almost definitely not from Toriyama and it feels less real to me. *For eg. The Manga completely skipped the Freeza arc and that came from Toriyama. The Manga also skipped Goku going SS in BoG and we know that came from Toriyama.
