To be fair, it's not like any of the non-Saiyans aren't popular. I mean would the studio or fans have any reason to complain if Piccolo's reputable status as a contender against the Saiyans were to become revitalised? Krillin also acquiring some power ups to make him viable again wouldn't damage the show's marketability, I feel.

Success and quality are two different measurements, its very possible to have one without the other. Regardless Super is no failure, but I don't think we are at unmitigated success either yet. They still pump out more Z than Super branded merchandising at this point despite the show have two movies preceding it and being running for two years now.

Quality is subjective, as I said in my last past I think Super is a worthy continuation of Z but that's just my opinion. Just because you don't like something doesn't make it truth.

Yeah, I don't know what SSJ YUSUKE is referring to. Nobody with rational sense is denying that Super is a success. I'm just as thankful as you are that we have a new series with new content coming out, the fan base is more alive than I can vividly remember. We are just pointing out the flaws that we see, giving constructive criticism which is completely fair. Whether Super is a worthy continuation is up fo debate, although that discussion still has some ways to go before it picks up steam because Super isn't ending anytime soon.

But they can easily give them a transformation, which is what Lionel is pointing out. Not so much for human characters, but Piccolo's Super Namekian God Transformation has over 4.5 million views on YouTube and counting on a fanmade video, something me, Lionel, Namekiansaiyan, and a host of other Piccolo fans around here have been barking about for months on end to occur in Super.

I don't think that toy would sell that poorly. I've said this so many times I think I come across as a whiny fan, but I'm only bringing it up because the conversation shifted that way.

Piccolo is definitely one of the most underutilized characters in Super. While in Z he was always pretty close to Gohan he was definitely an independent character while in Super he shows a complete inability to do anything of value unrelated to Gohan. Maybe it's due to Vegetas role, before Piccolo was always kind of Gokus right man when it came to how to handle situations and stuff but now they barely interact with one another.

Non saiyan fans have to stick together. If 17 does real well in this arc. I think it'll send a good message. I'd much rather that than going all in on the saiyan craze, which they could very well do now that we have U6 saiyans, and the new generation of saiyans with Pan and Bra.

I don't understand why they refused to boost Piccolo more, I initially thought they wanted him to be a slow burn type of fighter (which is fine), where he needs time to charge up but gets deadly.

And then they had him charge for 9 days and not even scratch base Goku :/ .

At least K-meister pressured Goku into going SSJ. But yeah, Goku tanked Piccolo's attack, same attack he tanked back at the 23rd.

As far as Piccolo goes, I like the character, but it's why I have such little investment with him in Super. He's so tied to Gohan he feels like a satellite character. My favorite interactions of Piccolo were both his moments with Goku and 17 in the Recruitment arc. Seeing Goku put more trust in Piccolo than anyone else barring Gohan was great, and Piccolo and 17 meeting once again was a moment that just had to happen.

I'm gonna miss Gowasu. He's a nice old guy who just wasn't equipped to handle his easily-persuaded-to-evil student. Also he gave us godtube, tea, and "Zamasu!".

Me. In fact that's been my main concern for most the tournament. Beerus and Whis just saved Gowasu but now they're inadvertently going to kill him.

I feel like U6 will somehow be fine, but Gowasu...
