Rate the animes which you have watched from below out of 10 and also Super for comparison. Genre doesn't matter, it's about how much you enjoyed

* Erased (Boku Dake Ga Inai Machi)

* Boku No Hero Academia

* Re-Zero

* Hundred

* Berserk

* Shokugeki no Soma S2

* Kabanari of the Iron Fortress

* Musaigen no Phantom World

* Assassination Classroom S2

* Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable

(you can add more if you want)

Toyotarō: … I get the feeling I’ve just heard something amazing (laughs). Lord Beerus and Whis turn up in Dragon Ball Super, and have become an unsurpassable wall for Goku and the gang. What do the two of them mean to you?

Toriyama: Well… First off, right now I don’t have any plans for Goku and Vegeta to surpass Beerus and Whis.

I don't watch anime, only when I'm boring and it has to be really good so I can watch it but I watched two of those.

Hundred 2/10 Didn't like almost anything, the story is bad, characters are a little interesting but not enough to make me want to watch the show, the fights are bad. I left it on episode 5 I think.

Boku no hero academia 7/10 My favourite thing of this anime is the OST, liked the idea of the author, liked the characters, the animation and the fights but the story isn't really good, it's good only at the beginning.

Dragon Ball Super 7/10 (I will talk about U6 arc and Black Goku arc, not the retellings) love the characters that have been introduced in this series, I like the fights and I love the story, I like the animation since the beginning of the Black arc and hope it keeps this way, I like the OST but things like not using old characters and only focus on Goku and Vegeta or not feeling a real danger is what I don't like of DBS

Comparing Super to other 2016 anime is like comparing Ride To Hell Retribution to other 2013 games.

EDIT: In hindsight kinda an unfair comparison because Ride to Hell had pretty much no upsides. Super at least has some.

ANOTHER EDIT: Note I'm counting the retellings because they ARE part of the show. Without those Super is just incredibly average. With them it's garbage.

I haven't seen any of those but I'll rate Super up to the Copy arc and see how it compares to everyone else' rating.

Art and animation : 5
Fights : 6
Music : 5
Writing : 4
Plots : 5
Character usage : 5
New characters and forms : 5
Pacing : 5

Overall : 5 and that's me being generous due to it being a part of DB.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

  • Erased (Boku Dake Ga Inai Machi) - 7/10
    Excellent character animation throughout, which is a huge part of why the character relationships and their development throughout the series feels so genuine. Unfortunately, for a show that tries to tie these aspects together via a murder mystery, they sure make it obvious who did it. If you don't have a strong clue of who did it by episode 3, I'll be very surprised. Predictable, but very well directed.
  • Re-Zero - 9/10 (so far)
    Wonderful in just about every way. Interesting characters, great development, and a premise that, while not unique, is executed incredibly well. The show's mood swells until breaking point where you just want everything to stop so you can take a little breather from all the horror and despair. Kills me just about every week. At the same time, when it wants to be cute and funny, it does that perfectly, too.
  • Berserk - No score
    It's bad. Really bad. Abysmal visuals, bad character designs, and baffling narrative changes/cuts.
  • Kabanari of the Iron Fortress - 6.5/10 (so far)
    Admittedly, I still haven't watched the last few episodes. What began as a much more interesting take on Attack on Titan, eventually began to fall into tedium, and outright poor writing in some cases. Really unique visuals at times, but the whole production is just as messy as Super's. Good ol' Studio Wit. Keeping the meme alive.
  • Musaigen no Phantom World - 6/10 (so far)
    Yeah, I haven't finished it, and I'm not sure if I will. Definitely one of KyoAni's weakest shows. They've got some great characters there, but few episodes actually do anything interesting with them. Episode 4 is really the direction I wanted the show to head in. Unfortunately, it took a big ol' swerve and went and did its own thing... which wasn't very good.

I suppose I'd put Super at a 6/10 so far, but I'm definitely being quite generous based on what we've seen so far. I think the Trunks arc so far has been very good, but I do worry about the future of the show. Hopefully the response to this arc will set a precedent for the type of stories and pacing fans want from this production. I guess we'll see.

Beserk: 2/10 - Piece of crap, shame to the manga's name.

Super: 7/10 - Entertaining and trunks arc has me invested so far.

* Kabanari of the Iron Fortress: 6.5/10
- Great visuals and a fantastic OST, but there is a shocking lack of depth and development within cast, especially given the concept of the show. And the potential of the story is ultimately left greatly unfulfilled.

* Boku No Hero Academia - 9/10
- This show has a wonderfully diverse and fleshed out cast of characters, along with top notch animation, a killer soundtrack, and a quite interesting core concept. It's basically everything that I wanted Dragon Ball Super to be.

* Beserk - 1/10
- Awful visuals. Butchered story. Just a terrible adaption in several ways.

* Diamond Is Unbreakable - 9.5/10 (so far)
- Man, oh man. What fantastic show this is. The extremely detailed and vibrant art style almost jumps out at you and the soundtrack is basically ear porn. Just like Boku No Hero Academia, the cast is wonderfully diverse, fleshed out and well used. And the plot, even on the silliest of episodes, has you on the edge of your seat. Just as marvellous and addictive anime.

* Dragon Ball Super - 7.5/10 (so far)
- Man, it's been difficult watching this show. On certain days, when it want to be great, it can be really great. But when it's awful, holy shit is it awful. Ever since the Champa/Universe 6 arc, the show has really pick up in terms of overall quality and Future Trunks arc has show the potential of how great Super can be. Let's just hope that direction continues for the foreseeable future.

It was a chore watching the first 2 Arcs of Super to be honest. Super didn't truly begin until the start of the U6 Arc. I hope they show what they hinted towards as well. For example, if they forget about visiting Planet Salad I will be so pissed off because they hinted at it way too much for it not to happen.

Let's see.

  • Boku Dake: 6/10.
    Amazing visuals and direction, but the end was pretty lackluster. I gave it 7/10 inicially, but after reading the manga lowered the score.

    AssClass S2: 8/10.
    The first 8 or 9 episodes were okay, but the second half was just masterfully done and episode 24 is one of the best of the year so far. Loved the series as a whole.

    Gate S2: 4/10.
    Otaku pandering. Amazing concept, horrible execution with too much "cute" creatures and Japanese nationalism.

    Ajin: 7/10.
    Really like the main character and his ambiguous morality. Villain is amazing too.

    Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu: 9/10.

    The best show I've watched all year, and one of the best series since Ping Pong and Shinsekai Yori in 2012. Amazing characters, story, music, direction- everything.

    She and her cat -Everything flows- : 7/10.
    Pretty good. I really like that they tied it with the 1999 one.

    Boku no Hero: 6/10.
    Was just fine. Not good, but not bad.

    Kabaneri: 5/10.
    One of the prettiest series in a while, but that's it. Awful characters and the story was just meh.

    Ushio to Tora S2: 8/10.
    First season was pretty good, this one too. It had this 90's feel I love, and the progression was excellent. A little cliché at times, but since this adapted something from 1993 it gets a pass.
From the Summer season I'm watching Orange (main girl is annoying, but I like it), Mob Psycho (this one is amazing), 91 Days (I like the atmosphere) and Tales of Zestiria (dont know were it is going, but the visuals look amazing).

As for Dragon Ball Super, I don't really like to rate ongoing series, but since we're 52 episodes in I think I have a pretty good idea of the show.

The BoG, RoF and U6 arc get a 3/10 as a whole, but the Trunks arc elevates the series to a 4/10.
The reasoning behind? Everything seems swallow, empty and soulless. This doesn't feel like a Dragon Ball continuation, but Vegeta and Goku doing things. Dragon Ball had awesome fights and fierce characters that grew with every new treat. It was dynamic and vivid. This is just meh. Music is boring, and I don't want to being to talk to the outdated and rushed visuals. It isn't imaginative nor powerful, it just Goku and Vegeta throwing a few punches and some background characters talking.

I really like Beerus and Whis, and the Future Trunks arc has been decent so far. Not good, but it can stand on its own, so I appreciate it.

I don't care for much newer anime. When I look at new anime coming out every season, I find like one or two, maybe three or four that I want to watch. I don't like how shinny that anime these look. Particularly moe or ecchi stuff it's too ugly and bland to me. I did like newer stuff like Kill la Kill, Tiger & Bunny, One Punch Man, Baka and Test, Parasyte, Devil is A Part Timer, Space Dandy, the new anime adaption of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Akame Ga Kill. I wish more anime like Wicked City, Cyber City Oedo 808, Ninja Scroll, Vampire Hunter D, Devilman, 3x3 Eyes, Bubblegum Crisis, The Guyver and Mazinger to be made today (Seriously we need Yoshiaki Kawajiri back :D !)

Anyways, the only new anime that came out this year I saw so far was Ajin: Demi-Human which I really enjoy (I like the manga more though). I only read the first two volumes of My Hero Academia and I really it. It did had that somewhat classic DB feel to it with the nice mix of action and comedy. I try to watch the new Berserk anime and I stop after two episodes. I will wait until the show is over to make a proper judgement on it. The other anime in this thread don't interest me that much. I will check out Diamond Is Unbreakable when it's finish. I still like the manga of Jojo more because I'm not too crazy of the animation style that they use for the show (They seem to modernize the art style which I'm not too crazy about it).

ERASED: It has great atmosphere and great character arc for the main lead. It gets a wee bit sloppy near the end, but all in all, glad I watched it.

My Hero Academia: There are times in which I felt the pacing could feel sluggish-still nice to see the manga pages come to life; love the colors by the way.

Berserk: I don't even want to look at it.

Kabaneri: The premise was very typical, so initially I wasn't too hyped for it. Then it won me over. Then Biba showed up. Fortunately, for me at least, in the last episode, it went off well for the most part.

Right now, I give Super a 7/10. Went up to 6/10 to 7/10. If Super keeps on going on the same level as the current arc, it may be a 8/10.

Out of those, the only one I watched from start to finish was Erased. I watched one episode of Berserk, but didn't dig it at all. Honestly, only once in a blue moon is an anime released that keeps me watching passed the 1st episode. Unsurprisingly, the ones that do end up becoming mainstream and widely popular (e.g. Attack on Titan, One Punch Man, and Erased).

Anyways, I give Erased an 8.5/10. As someone mentioned, the serial killer's identity was pretty obvious. That said, the execution leading up to his unveil and the ending were great, imo. The visuals were stunning. The soundtrack was beautifully fitting. It's definitely worth the watch, even if you're not an anime fan.

I give Super a 4/10, and that's me being generous. This score is not including the Future Trunks arc, which just started and actually does have me curious/interested every week. Only reason I occasionally watch this crap is because of its namesake.

Re: Zero is entire bodies above Dragon Ball Super. It feels like the optimum television animation, a project the industry has not scene in decades, if ever. A production schedule so strong that episodes regularly have no opening or ending animation to allow for extra scenes, despite also featuring complex animation and layouts.

I'm not really into anime outside of a few and I haven't started watching MHA yet so...

One Piece - 8/10
Dressrosa's finale was handled pretty well but the Silver Mine filler arc was kind of meh but Zou is about to start and that's looking pretty good and the new opening is great. Animation is really good but it's been dipping from time to time as of late (Deguchi....)

Dragon Ball Super - 6/10
Not entirely awful but as someone said, it's great when it wants to be but awful when it wants to be as well. Story and Animation quality fluctuates but most of the time it stands as average/passable and is nowhere near as good as BoG and F in terms of storytelling. Some plot lines and points are good, some aren't and just make no sense.

The only thing i got out of this thread is that the retellings and the animation drags the whole series down a whole lot more than what you'd think. If DBS had Pokemon XYZ level animation, i bet those 6's and 4's jump to 9's and 8's, even if the storytelling and the inconsistent plotlines remain a serious issue, at the end of the day, Super fulfills its purpose which is to entertain and entertaining it is.

Hope this Trunks Arc changes everything we think about Super as a whole, i see things getting better and better episode by episode, it seems to me that Toei is slowly finding its way around the bad schedules or are working on slightly better schedule. It's actually surprising that there hasn't been one single inconsistency or plothole since episode 46 (except for Trunk's hair). Unfortunately that's a milestone for Super.

I will give Super a 5.5/10 for now.

Boku No Hero Academia is the only one i have watched and i would rate it 8/10. The OST is the highlight and the characters are also well fleshed out.

Super is a 5/10 it is below average so far. Black Gokuu character is the only thing that i really like in Super. Everything else is just below the mark.

Dragon Ball Super- 7.5/10- Great revival of a old series, started very clunky put found it's footing 36 episodes in and has been in the up ever since. Few problems still remain but they are few and far between now.

Only show I have watched form your list.
