I can't claim to understand the reason behind Mr. Gavira's recasting but I believe it is most likely the wrong move. Nothing seems to indicate that he can't act any longer and if there were any behind the scenes issues bad enough to warrant kicking him off the project I doubt they would be unknown to the fans. This just gives me the impression of a bad idea and I can only cross my fingers and hope that his replacement is suitable for the fans.

Man, y'all got it Monday through Thursday? Lucky
It ain't uncut, but at least you guys are actually gonna have the material faster than some other dubs that get one episode a week.

This makes me worry about Latam dub, hope it isn't censured or anything, but thankfully the dub is coming from the Japanese version so there shouldn't be any censorship, of course, the TV channel has the final word so who knows...

So the songs were left in Japanese? That's disappointing I was excited to hear Spanish versions of the songs.

Re: Super coming to Spain... controversy included.
I dont see how the home releases not being censored solves anything. The fandom will never be interested in a product that, most of them, casual fans, will see censored and that by the time of the Black arc will be extremely reduced it will be a joke, so they will not be interested in the home releases at all. And harcore fans already know about Super and have watched it and most of them won't be interested on buying the dub home realeases. No matter hoe you look at it, this is other of the nowadays great amount of things that looks like they are trying to kill the DB fandom. It's already hard to people to be even interested in a mediocre product (yes, the first 28 episodes, hell, I would say even the first 46 are mediocre at best) which they will be comparing to a older product with nostalgia googles (Because this is Spain, remember, older is always better) and the whole Goku's voice thing to censore it. Its such a disaster. I can only hope we get a good version of the manga and people will be a bit more intrigated about Super, but again, manga readers are nothing compared to TV viewers. First Kai and now this, I know some other countrys may even have a worst situation, but I can't help but complain for what DB has been reduced to here.

God the censorship must be 4kids levels of bad. Can someone describe the censorship? So far we have only discussed how bad and appalling it is.

Re: Super coming to Spain... controversy included.
Saw the episode yesterday, and... I have mixed feelings. I'll start with the acting, the thing that surprised me the most. It has improved a lot, most voices feel energetic and have emotion on it, Goku's new voice through, idk... When I see Goku I put him the voice of the actor during end of DB and Saiyan Saga (not gavira). But it seems to get the character. The only problem is that there's more cheesy dialogue (uh).
2nd, the episode was speeded up (wtf boing), it had no ending and no preview despite the previews having been dub...
Then it was censored despite 22:20 being out kids time zone (or at least close to it). The censorship is just like the one the French version has.
I think boing should just move the episodes to 22:30 pm, i think that's outside kids time zone, and it will be useful for the later arcs.
I'm thinking wether they'll put cheesy dialogue to Frieza and cut his ''Damn it's''

So far, the cuts were the same as in the French version: Trunks killing the snake and Master Roshi asking for money to buy porn magazines.Cure Dragon 255 wrote:God the censorship must be 4kids levels of bad. There's one extra cut which may or may not have been in the French version: in the recap, the scene where Goku kills Buu was cut.
I'd say the complaints are less related to how this particular episode was handled, and more to what's gonna happen to later episodes if they keep having these standards. Boing really wasn't a good choice for the series, even if it was the only one.
However, it's been totally confirmed that the cuts were applied after the dubbing process. I, for one, don't think the cuts will be enough to turn the series into a success or a flop (the number of people who'll stop watching it because of the cuts AND have a people meter installed in their TVs will be next to none), so the certainty that those scenes are dubbed and not lost makes me want to see the bright side of all this.

What the hell is going on with Dragon Ball Super being censored in Europe. I'm so glad Portugal only had a scene cut out (that was in the BoG arc) and is keeping all the "violence"

I've seen somebody point out that they also cut some hits during the Buu saga recap. If they keep censoring like this, we're really in for a laughGafonso6 wrote:What the hell is going on with Dragon Ball Super being censored in Europe. The french version did cut off the kicks during the recap and if Spain has the same cuts then this neighbour countries' Black Arc will only last a few episodes .UltimateHammerBro wrote:I've seen somebody point out that they also cut some hits during the Buu saga recap. Really? I didn't know the kicks were cut in France too. I guess we could have a look at the censored French version to know what to expectGafonso6 wrote:The french version did cut off the kicks during the recap and if Spain has the same cuts then this neighbour countries' Black Arc will only last a few episodes .UltimateHammerBro wrote:I've seen somebody point out that they also cut some hits during the Buu saga recap. Here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBd40yi4gaQ&t=9s. It only has the censorship until episode 11 but I've been researching this censorship and pratically every punch that hits skin has been censored.UltimateHammerBro wrote:Really? I wonder how they'll do the U6 tournament, how will they do the awesome Kaioken moment? Goku screams Kaioken and the episode ends, no music, no nothing.Ki Breaker wrote:I am surprised they didn't censor the whole show..Gafonso6 wrote:Here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBd40yi4gaQ&t=9s. I've read that the Freeza saga episodes are butchered to hell...

From the clips I've seen that is true. I don't think you'd be so carefree about it if the Portuguese dub was as censored as the french dub is... Luckily they'll broadcast an uncut dub soon, too...Gafonso6 wrote:From the clips I've seen that is true. Oh believe me i would still joke about it but I would also be really mad especially because unlike France and Spain, Portugal never got the BoG and RoF movies.sangofe wrote:I don't think you'd be so carefree about it if the Portuguese dub was as censored as the french dub is...
