Should Tenshinhan's buddy Chiaotzu fight alongside him?
Tien and Chiaotzu are a team and it doesn't feel right that Tien goes into this tournament without him IMO. Is it possible for Chiaotzu to get an upgrade in power?
Or is his best moment his kamikaze attack on Nappa?

Re: Should Tien's buddy CHiaotzu fight alongside him?
We don't really know much about Tien and Chiaotzu lately, as they have been shown little in Super.
We can guess Tien is still training, as IIRC he never showed other interests in his life, although other characters are leagues ahead of him in terms of power.
Chiaotzu, while in theory -unless he completely dropped training for some reason- should be stronger than Roshi, has not actually fought anyone since when? He was not even there against Frieza's minions...

No Chiaotzu will remain the most useless/pointless character in DB and I don't see how DBS is going to bring him in the tournament.Through he is going to be a spectator in this like most of DB character

Re: Should Tenshinhan's buddy Chiaotzu fight alongside him?
How about the Super Dodonpa as his ultimate attack/technique? The work with Chiaotzu in Dragon Ball Z/Super/GT after the Future Trunks Saga was PATHETICALLY POOR to TERRIBLE, he should be the psychic wiz who can contribute to the story despite not being physically strong as the leading characters (not that he's weak to fight like seems for most "JUST GIMME SSJ TRANSFORMATIONS, TORIYAMA!!!" fans). This makes him rival ONLY King Cold himself over the title of the MOST WASTED character in the franchise. HECK! Even Yu Yu Hakusho used their Chiaotzu-esque till the very end.DragonBallFoodie wrote:Tien and Chiaotzu are a team and it doesn't feel right that Tien goes into this tournament without him IMO. I was always disappointed at Toriyama for taking out Chiaotzu so lightly, I mean, I could have understand it if he HAD AT LEAST took part in the fight against the Androids or in the Cell Games (as he prepared for both MORE THAN 3 YEARS of his life) before retiring or forced to quit due to his fatal injuries/lack of effect there.
His "cute" design made Toriyama's editor ask him to remove Chiaotzu from the front lines due to the more serious tone they hoped to take Z to, however Zeno's design 2 decades later makes it questionable if one has to look strong to actually be such. I could have taken it easier or with more understanding if his last canonical battle was against a Cell Jr. or even the "weaker" Androids than just ending his career after Nappa (or Guldo if you, like myself, don't care about filler/not). It's nice to at least know that in Future Trunks' timeline Chiaotzu did fought against the Androids and perhaps even prior that against Mecha-Frieza, King Cold and their soldiers as there was no need to take him out (minimized his role to less than a Puar-level character) to make room for some alien transformation to blonde. In Dragon Ball Z Episode 153 after Chiaotzu tells Yamcha & Roshi that he can sense Tien is dying (despite his fighting spirit/dedication to prevent Cell absorbing Android 18 was at max), Yamcha suggest Chiaotzu and him will go help the dying Tien who was stalling Imperfect Cell with his Neo-Tri-Beams, they were about to go before Master Roshi tells them not to, cuz they'll eventually die too like Tien was supposed to against such an enemy (much to their disappointment) - This had always seemed to me like an out-of-character moment for Chiaotzu who was more than willing to sacrifice his life for the sake of his best friend, Tien, just 5 years prior that against Nappa, no reason for him to listen to Roshi in such a dire situation and leave Tien for his own fate against Cell.

There was also an opportunity to have him show some backbone while coming with Tien to fight Buutenks and save heavily injured Mystic/Ultimate Gohan, Hercule & Dende (instead of having his last shot of action avoiding getting killed by Super Buu's Human Extinction Attack) or have both of them against Kid Buu in the Grand Kai's Planet alongside Krillin & Yamcha (happens in both Z & Kai) for old times' sake.
Super should have done the retellings of BoG & RoF better with having even the older guys like Krillin (at least in BoG), Yamcha & Chiaotzu involved (at least in BoG's original script Toriyama intended everyone to fight Beerus before Goku arrives, Toei dismissed him by telling him no movie theater would like to take a 120 minutes long movie instead of a 90 minutes piece, they could at least spread it over these dull DBS episodes). Yamcha and Chiaotzu are both stronger than Roshi, should have been there as they both could handle Frieza's 2nd class soldiers by the hundreds MUCH better than he did (he barely kept up with these goons), he only made it to the new arc team & was casted to Resurrection 'F' due to Toriyama's choice of honoring him as Goku's first master. Well, since Super isn't over yet all I can do as a DB fan of the original Z-Fighters is to hope that he'll matter once again in some filler battle in the future.
Re: Should Tenshinhan's buddy Chiaotzu fight alongside him?
There's no account for any of Toriyama's editors requesting Chiaotzu's removal. I requested a source & researched it myself. It seems as if you fabricated the detail. It would be helpful if you didn't assert that as fact, thank you. Furthermore, with the original story simply titled Dragon Ball & his primary inclusion in the Saiyan arc (the anime adaption's first arc, in which Chiaotzu was already dead during the current Weekly Shounen Jump publication), I don't think the theory holds up. His mitigated role is without conspiracy & is simply a mitigated role.

They actually can do a pretty good team, Chaozu's telekenis would be of a great help to Tenshinhan.
If I was the director of Rof, he would definetly appear to help Tenshinhan against Freeza's minions. Same to Yamcha, but he would help Kame-sennin.

Hey now, Yamcha's a lone hurricane wolf type of guy.
I think Kuririn & Turtle Hermit have closer dynamics for briefly teaming up.

I was referring to a blogpost by a Chiaotzu-fanboy (that's also his username in DB Wikia). If u have the balls to try to darken my name or reputation here by accusing me for quoting the info I once read, at least quote me so u could face my response. Don't act like a coward. BTW If anyone else here is or was disappointed from no Yamcha or Chiaotzu appearance in RoF/FnF feel free to join the discussion in my first ever post here.Nejishiki wrote:There's no account for any of Toriyama's editors requesting Chiaotzu's removal. Re: Should Tenshinhan's buddy Chiaotzu fight alongside him?
That doesn't detract from my message in that no official record of that statement exists. It also does not change the decision to assert aforementioned statements as fact. Repeating information ill of source & unreliable origin as legitimate is irresponsible. The purpose of those type of messages, when possible, is misinformation mitigation. I've no personal interest in sullying usernames so please refrain from that accusation. I thought it as strange & researched myself to confirm something. Perhaps I wasn't neutral & flexible enough in my response but I failed to discover a "better way" to address repeated details that continued to be repeated after questioning it once before. It's concerning to me & if nothing else, it's helpful for future record. Lastly, there's no purpose in quoting if my post is immediately after yours. After all, it's apparent what I'm responding to.

With no reference to that blog post in your original post nor a mention of you having been made aware of it from someone and not yourself, Nejishiki had no reason to assume it came from anyone but you.Israelite Wolfman wrote:I was referring to a blogpost by a Chiaotzu-fanboy (that's also his username in DB Wikia). And what about that "Toriyama's original script for BoG had everyone fight Beerus before Goku arrives"? It sounds like you made this up.Israelite Wolfman wrote:I was referring to a blogpost by a Chiaotzu-fanboy (that's also his username in DB Wikia). Re: Should Tenshinhan's buddy Chiaotzu fight alongside him?
Well, allow me to tell u something, pal, we have discussed this issue over a topic called: "Why Is Chaozu Seen As A Z Fighter By The Cell Arc To Some?". his accusation of me fabricating it here is a direct continuation from the discussion there, my advice for life here is: if someone is not a part of a conversation between 2 users/people, one shouldn't jump into conclusions or stick his nose into the "argument".dbgtFO wrote:With no reference to that blog post in your original post nor a mention of you having been made aware of it from someone and not yourself, Nejishiki had no reason to assume it came from anyone but you.Israelite Wolfman wrote:I was referring to a blogpost by a Chiaotzu-fanboy (that's also his username in DB Wikia). Really? So another accusation just because I've been a member of the Dragon Ball Wikia for years and have came across this: Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods Official Movie Guide shortly after the article was created? Allow me to quote if for you:emperior wrote:And what about that "Toriyama's original script for BoG had everyone fight Beerus before Goku arrives"? It also reveals that there originally were many fight scenes of other Z Fighters in Toriyama's original script for the film but, since the movie would have been 120 minutes long with all of them, the production staff decided cut most of them. Those scenes were even included on the storyboard, but they were never animated.

So you were quoting a fellow fan with no way to actually verify the claim and no desire to do so? We have the right to question that.Israelite Wolfman wrote:I was referring to a blogpost by a Chiaotzu-fanboy (that's also his username in DB Wikia). Chiaotzu just wasnt a very useful character....literally never found any reason to care about him. Its cool if others do obviously...but dont make things up.

Re: Should Tenshinhan's buddy Chiaotzu fight alongside him?
I don't think it's so hard to verify such things with the multiple sources this and other otaku sites had collected over the years, I just stated what is known to me about this removal of Chiaotzu. I seriously laughed at the last phrase u wrote, it's not my "making", if u knew me for more than a single post, u'd know I love to stick to facts, not only with cartoons. IIRC that blog post was more than text that u could doubt for it's reliability, it had a link to some English translation to allegedly Japanese interview with Toriyama where he referred to the creation of the Android Saga, the creation of 19 & 20 as the ones Trunks warned about, and why he also had taken them out from the focus of the story (his editor said they were too funny looking to be the main threat), so he had changed his plan to make room for 17 & 18 before his editor came up with another pitch: the idea of Cell and changed the chain of events even further from his original plot.GodKaio-Ken wrote:So you were quoting a fellow fan with no way to actually verify the claim and no desire to do so?
