Ultimate Gohan is basically Super Saiyan Black Gohan

When Ultimate Gohan was originally introduced, we were led to believe that Gohan would no longer need to go Super Saiyan anymore.

Ultimate Gohan was supposed to be a new Base form standard for Gohan. He couldn't lose this form, as it would just be his Base form.

Ever since Resurrection 'F', it has been hinted that Gohan lost his Ultimate form and could only use Super Saiyan.

Now that he has been training a lot, and the Universal Survival Arc promotional material has hinted that Ultimate Gohan is coming back ... it almost seems like Ultimate is not a Base state anymore.

Toei seems to be treating it like a Super Saiyan Black form. Gohan has his Base form, Super Saiyan 1 form, Super Saiyan 2 form, and his Ultimate form.

This is an interesting take on the form, but was not its original purpose. What do you all think?

Ultimate is accessing his full potential in base state, SS is accessing only some of it..
Until now SS level boost is all his body could manage, he can go ultimate but he can't handle that much power..

His ultimate state returning means he is in his prime physical condition and can't be bothered to transform anymore..

If that is SS black then all base states are SS blacks..

Hahahaha, obviously all Base forms would be SSBlack then. I meant that more in the sense that we kinda see Ultimate referenced and talked about recently as though it is a transformation, despite it being his Base form.

That would be way too easy, they could at least wish for immortality or eternal youth from sheneron but they don't, no way potential unlock is happening

I think they should call it super saiyan zero since theres no actual physical change. however when gohan powers up he should have a lot of lightning around the aura similar to ssj2 and ssj3. that way there will some distinction between base and ultimate.
