I think this was a very nice detail put in by Toei. It's a little bit sad if you think about it more. Goku really cares for Grandpa Gohan.

It's pretty obvious they're all well educated on the animes history.

When you say that, you make it seem like all their past inconsistencies and mistakes are okay.

I'm not going to take away from what happened in clip because it's awesome, but to try and make this a justification to some of the stuff they've gotten away with is just silly.

One or two legit throwback moments doesn't mean that these people know their stuff. For all we know while looking at past clips of Babas place, they decided to just throw that in there.

This for me is no proof that the people over there are huge fans of the series. I'm sure there are some but not a lot.

Yeah I'm also hoping for this to somehow happen in Super. It could make for a really touching moment. We see the 4 Star Dragon Ball get shown off in some of Super's endings.

I feel like, maybe somewhere around the end of Super, we'll see some sort of scene between Goku and Grandpa Gohan. Would make for a great ending since the 4 Star Dragon Ball was what pretty much started this whole series.

I knew this is where he fought Grandpa Gohan so I thought that's what everyone meant when they said it was a reference, but I wasn't aware that the choreography was actually exactly the same as when he fought Grandpa Gohan. That's a really really nice and subtle easter egg.

And you know what's more amazing, Toshio (ya know, the kind writer that makes all the tweets) was the one who wrote episode 94. He's starting to become one of my favorite writers in the series.

I really wanted to see either a small appearance or a memory revisit from Goku regarding Grandpa Gohan, those 20 seconds were very emotional to me, and so was the original scene.
