DNA's Projects - Goku Densetsu Analysis
Since this was already serving that purpose anyway, I decided to re-purpose this topic to be a catch all for all the other ones.
On Going Projects
Dragon Ball Video Game Stories Blog: Where I mainly review games and focus on alternative scenes within them. Formerly Game Exclusive Stuff Analysis Thread
Dragon Ball Heroes Character Database: A database showcasing every character and formed featured within Dragon Ball Heroes, complete with card images.
Dragon Ball Animated Parodies Watch List: A collection of animated parodies from various artists.
Name Pun Round-Up Part 2 Thread: A continuation of Herms' Name Pun Round-Up Thread featuring everything not included in the original one.
Dragon Calendar: A calendar marking dates of various Dragon Ball related events and release dates. Might be part of the blog in the future.
On Hold
Shen Long's Dragon Balls Live Stream: A live show where me and Zykar talk about Dragon Ball stuff, review arcs and filler, read terrible fanfics and occasionally have guests. Part of it was formerly the Filler Arc Analysis Thread.
Dragon Ball Video Game Models, Palette Swaps and Outfits Database: A huge database or screenshots of fighting games spanning from NES up to PlayStation 2. Used to be part of the project in the Official Alternate Colours Thread.
Bardock Special Fan's Cut: Was going to be a special cut with added scenes featuring King Vegeta, Broli and others. Scrapped for now.
Dragon Ball Desktop Theme Pack: A Dragon Ball Themed Windows theme pack, complete with a huge collection of Wallpapers or various sizes.
Future Projects
Dragon News YouTube Channel: A channel where I'll cover all the months relevant news in terms of releases and broadcasts of manga, animation, games, merchandise and even fan works. Will feature my stupid face.
Another Blog(?): Am considering if I will create a second blog showcasing opinions and other things or if I'll rework the game blog into something more.
In case you haven't noticed, my signature includes what I believe to be the most relevant links.

Re: To everyone following my projects
It's okay, dude!
No one can last for years with big projects like those.
Eventually, likely in a few months, most project threads I'm working on around this forum will have to stop too, for my life will become super-loaded with other things to deal with both professionally and personally too.
These are things that happen when you do "projects for free" and not "projects that you can work on all day and for which you get paid for" (I think those kind of projects are called actual "work").
I don't remember if it was on Kanzenshuu or one of the two sites which used fusion to become Kanzenshuu, but there was a sentence like "hopefully complete soon... in 50 years or so".
That's just the way it goes with projects you give for free on your free time: too many things to do with the huge Dragon Ball universe, for too little time when you add your professionnal and personal life to the mix!
But you've done more than enough with things like the palette swap pictures, my "recolors" project will surely have to stop before I can even use all pictures of your project!

I have a question about the Video Games Blog, when you update the blog, will you notify this in the previous thread?
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Heeeh probably not. No sense in keeping a thread alive just to advertise a blog :\DBZGTKOSDH wrote:I have a question about the Video Games Blog, when you update the blog, will you notify this in the previous thread?
Just use a RSS Feed or something, and I'm sorry about the lack of updates on that one. To be honest, StarCraft II entered my life recently and I've been neglecting everything else... xD

Ah yes, RSS does the job. Yeah, no need for the thread then.

Re: To everyone following my projects
Okay guys, all the Dropbox links have been changed to organize it a little better.
The screencap project to showcase pallet swaps and outfits has been re-tagged and re-organized in certain cases and Budokai 1 and 3 have been added.
I haven't unlocked all the transformations in Budokai 1 and I would need a second memory card with the same save file in order to showcase every single transformation, so a few models are missing. Biggest miss in my opinion is Cell Form 2, I apologize. But I did unlock Great Saiyaman after hours of trying, so I hope you enjoy that one.
Sparking 1, 2 and Infinite World are next in line.
The blog will soon be updated with Budokai 1 related stuff.
Me and Zykar might do a live show soon, I'm thinking of performing a small test run with no theme.

If the issue is showcasing all the characters and trans. you have, simply move you memory card to slot 2 after finishing choosing your first character, the game will recognise it and will let you use the same data on the p2 side.DNA wrote:Okay guys, all the Dropbox links have been changed to organize it a little better.

Oh! Well, that's handy information. I thought that might work but dismissed it. I'll be sure to give it another spin later, I'm busy with the Sparkings now :3Quebaz wrote:If the issue is showcasing all the characters and trans. you have, simply move you memory card to slot 2 after finishing choosing your first character, the game will recognise it and will let you use the same data on the p2 side.
Re: To everyone following my projects
Okay so, a few things changed and I finished Budokai 2V (took me hours to get all the Buu forms) and Tag VS screenshots.
I think I missed an outfit on Budokai 3, need to confirm.
Still haven't gone back to Budokai 1 for missing transformations.
Need to unlock Ozaru and Tao Pai Pai on Sparking 1 in order to finish it.
Will most likely redo Sparking 3 and Super DBZ with in-game shots instead.
Shin Budokai 1 and 2 share the exact same models, I can't tell them apart. Furthermore, the second outfit is simply a darker shade. I'll do them anyway but will merge them, there's no sense on having two folders.
I still got a bit to do in Infinite World before I unlock everything, but I'm getting there and screenshots are half done.
Raging Blast 1 and 2, Burst Limit, Ultimate Tenkaichi and Revenge of King Piccolo will have to be on hold indefinitely. I don't have my Xbox 360 nor my Wii with me at the moment and don't know when I will.
Am preparing at least one article for the blog, possibly more to follow.

Also, as edited in the previous post, Sparking 1 and Shin Budokai 2 palette swaps and outfits are finished.
Infinite World is almost finished too.

The what-ifs & the alternative outfits are really cool.

Re: DNA's Catch All Project Topic
New article on the blog.
Infinite World has been finished for a while now.
I might remake Super DBZ and Sparking! 3 with snaps during the fights instead of the system. Probably will do it to keep consistency, reduce the number of files and help comparison. Might add games that don't have palette swaps just for the sake of completion.
The show has been cancelled indefinitely due to my incredibly shitty internet connection which seems to get worse every day. I live with five people and when all of them are home, using the internet, it slows down to a crawl. It's pretty much impossible for me to have a consistent connection to be able to provide a decent show. I apologize.
I managed to find all the files for the Desktop Theme so I decided to reinstate it as a full pack. The link for it is on the first post. Some wallpapers might not be appropriate since I compiled that pack when I had a much smaller screen.
Two new entries have been added to the first post, related to two links on my signature.

Re: DNA's Catch All Project Topic
Nice article. Though I should point out some things:
- The term "Guru" is a dub thing. The correct term is Saichouro (Grand Elder).
- You forgot to mention Slug in the Genki Dama victims.
- You forgot to mention the gods Enma Daio (who is stated to be between Kami & Kaio in hierarchy) & Annin.
- About this:
Genki Dama may be known to the other Kaios, but Kaio-ken is a creation of North Kaio, and even he never mastered it. Maybe the others know similar to Kaio-ken techniques (like Paikuhan's technique), but I doubt they know the Kaio-ken.The North Kaio is the one we see most, he taught the Kaioken and the Genkidama to Goku, it would be silly to believe that the other Kaios do not know these techniques. - Finally, Super Saiyan God is stated to be the God of the Saiyans.

Slug? Ah yes, I rewatched a bit and thought he had died when Goku pierced him. Now I watched the rest of it. Well, he was basically pure evil but he died when the machine exploded. Plus, he was weakened.
I saved Enma, Annin and other for an article about deities, maybe I should have included everyone on this one.
Was it stated that the Kaioken is a technique exclusively created by North Kaio? I honestly don't know.
And was it stated that the Super Saiyan God was the God of Saiyans? Because the Daizenshuu say that Broli would be the Kami... Or rather, the Legendary Super Saiyan.

Yep:DNA wrote:Was it stated that the Kaioken is a technique exclusively created by North Kaio? I honestly don't know.
Chapter: 211 (DBZ 17), P11.5, P12.1
Context: after catching Bubbles
Kaio: “He may be the one who can master the Kaio-Ken!!! The Kaio-Ken that I drew up in my dreams, but could never master myself!!!!”
Daizenshuu 7 wrote:A technique that instantly amplifies the ki inside one's body, multiplying all one's abilities, including power, speed, defense, etc. Since it makes one capable of utilizing battle power many times their own ability, it is extraordinarily effective during battles with formidable opponents. However, because it is impossible to multiply excessively far beyond one's abilities, experimenting with an unreasonably high Kaio-ken might destroy one's own body. When the user's battle power is 8,000, their limit is x2, and when they are at 3 million the limit is x10. However, since real battles are harsh, Goku often had to use Kaio-ken above those limits. The Kaio-ken's designer is the North Kaio, but Goku was the first person to be able to master it. (Daizenshuu 2, p.212 / Daizenshuu 4, p.113)
Well, the Daizenshuu are older than Super Saiyan God, so it's obvious that they wouldn't mention it. But yes, it was named the "God of the Saiyans" in the Weekly Shonen Jump while promoting the movie.DNA wrote:And was it stated that the Super Saiyan God was the God of Saiyans? Made a new short article covering those mistakes and a few other things.
Re: DNA's Catch All Project Topic
New article!
This will start a series of articles every week covering (what I think it might be) the long awaited Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans. As explained on the article, I will be covering every single version of this special. This is the story that made me start this whole thing, and I do believe it deserves special attention. So get hyped! Next week we'll start with the NES game!

Re: DNA's Catch All Project Topic
Okay, it seems unfortunate that only DBZGTKOSDH is accompanying my updates, but I do need an opinion.
I've wrote the articles about gods and stuff as a means to give the blog more content faster, but do you guys like it? Should I keep doing it? If I keep doing it, I can pump out an article a month, maybe even every two weeks, but if I keep it just with the games, I can't ensure that, as I might not have enough time to cover a full game.
Again, I am deeply sorry for the state of the live show, it was becoming more cumbersome than fun thanks to my poor internet connection. But if anyone is still interested in the arc reviews, I might pass them into the blog instead in written form.
I get no feedback for the desktop theme, not sure if anyone likes it or not, or if anyone has even checked the wallpapers. As for the palette swaps and game models project, a bit frozen for now since there isn't much I can add at the moment. Maybe if I can get my hands on a Xbox 360 in this country, mine is back home.
Anyway, please give me opinions and suggestions so I can make everything better, more entertaining and interesting for you!

Re: DNA's Catch All Project Topic
I just noticed now that you really made a DB Windows Theme, I always tought you were just collecting wallpapers (which, I've been using some).
To be honest I've never bothered for the Game Stories site, but I'll give it a look, seems interesting tough.
But what I'm missing is the live show, which was really fun to listen to and to interact, but I can understand the problems. Besides that, fucking love that you've been collecting those pallete swaps (why can't the games use them anymore?), for a guy who sometimes makes color swaps for mugen characters, this has been helping a lot
(and please, don't remake Sparking 3 with the in-game shots, It works on the 2d titles, the Sparking series? Not so much, maybe do them for Super DBZ tho, just so you can get rid of the text.)
