Goku and Chi-Chi have settled down and have a son, Gohan. As the years go by, Goku decides to meet up with his friends at Capsule Corp. When he arrives, he senses something. A pod crashes nearby, and it turns out to be a Saiyan named Nappa. He gives the cliffnotes version of Goku's heritage, and tells him that his Brother Raditz and their leader, Vegeta, have gone rogue, and Freeza dispatched Nappa to go after them. After a year or so preparing, Goku leaves with Nappa, Tenshinhan, and Piccolo. Along their investigations, they find out that Vegeta and Raditz are on Namek, which are rumoured to have their own set of dragonballs. The objectives become clear: find Raditz and Vegeta, and stop them before they use the dragonballs. Along the way, Goku and Piccolo will encounter unpleasant truths about their origins, and look into the mirror.

Vegeta. Freeza will plot his downfall.

Guru would be an interesting twist. I say go with that.
(Not to mention that I can easily imagine TFA Guru going, "The horror, the horror!")

Why does Goku go with Nappa? Does Nappa mislead them? Nappa isn't very bright and even with a years worth of training Goku and Tenshinhan would still be pretty useless. Nappa wouldn't need Goku's help. Also why would Piccolo join. He hates Goku and doesn't have a reason to join. He only joined Goku against Raditz because he didn't stand a chance alone. After that fight he was then forced to bring out Gohans power which lead him to becoming good. What does Nappa do that makes Piccolo join.

All you need is a fat Marlon Brando as Vegeta/Freeza and we're set.
