One Last Parfait
I've always had a temper.
I stand here, alone, at the end of all things. I, who have spent the majority of my long life as the great destroyer, now find myself without a purpose. What is a God of Destruction, after all, without anything left to destroy? Granted, I suppose I do share some of the blame. Whis always warned be about controlling my temper. But still, they should have known better.
As far as battles go, it really was a bit....underwhelming.
The insects took offense at me destroying a planet in their solar system, one that wasn't even inhabited. The rulers just decided that I had deprived them of their property, and had to be punished. What fools.
They gathered their armies, ferried across the stars in great ships the size of mountains, all in an attempt to bring me to their "justice." I would have laughed, had it not infuriated me. It was time to teach these fools their place. It would be a short lesson, and not one they would remember for long, but so what? They had incurred the wrath of a god! No one gets to make that mistake more than once.
I awoke from a short nap to find myself surrounded by the assembled forces of those who had deemed themselves my betters. To my credit, I didn't immediately wipe them out. I raised my hand to speak. The insects must have taken this as a provocation, as they immediately unleashed their weaponry on me. I suppose it's fair to say that I blinked.
The barrage continued for nearly a minute, after which another minute war required for the dust to settle. Afterwards, to the shock of all but myself, I stood unscathed amidst the ruin that covered the land surrounding me.
I suppose that, even at this point, I could have allowed them to turn back, but....
I was angry. I was the God of Destruction! Ordained by the cosmos itself as an avatar of entropy! What right did these fleas have to take offense at what I did? They should have been grateful that I didn't destroy their worlds instead!
I released my power. In an instant, waves of unrelenting forces stripped them of their armor, their weaponry, their flesh, and, finally, their lives. And even after they were all slain, my rage had not subsided. I proceeded to annihilate the planet. Yet I was still unappeased. The nearest star stared at me, almost as if in defiance. A twitch of my finger brought it to an end as well, with an explosion that shook the heavens.
If only I had stopped there...
I felt a hand on my shoulder. Without thinking, I turned, and as the blast arced from my hand, I looked upon the face of my teacher.
As Whis fell through space, energy leaking out of the mortal wound I had inflicted upon him, he looked at me and smiled. I'll never forget that smile. As he closed his eyes, one last time, he erupted into an cataclysmic burst of force that I only barely survived. Whis's body did not.
I was distraught. But more than that, I was enraged. These....mortals had made me kill my teacher. They had to pay. All of them.
This is what we deserve. What we all deserve.
I stormed through the universe, a Bringer of Death, destroying all in my path. Mortals had forfeited their right to live; they had demonstrated that they were incapable of understanding and abiding by the laws of the universe. They were....unworthy.
As star by star fell to my wrath, the cosmos grew darker and darker. Silence reigned. Nothing could stop me; all worthy challenges had died out millennia ago. And at last, I here I stand, at the end of all things, alone.
What good is a God of Destruction when there is nothing else left?
I suppose I could sleep. At one time, I would have even looked forward to that. But why bother? There is nothing else. Nothing will be different once I awake.
And then, I feel a chill. I find this odd, in and of itself. I exist in nothing; there is no cold. I turn, and am filled with with emotions that I have not felt in countless eons.
Joy. Fear. Dread.
But most of all, shame.
My old teacher stands before me. Or at least, it looks like him. Whis is transparent, and I cannot sense him.
Lord Beerus. It has been a while.
I attempt to stammer out a reply, but there is no way to convey my words here. Sound no longer exists.

Whis gestures. I turn, and see a table with two chairs, a parfait next to each of them. He sits down in one, motioning for me to take a seat in the other. I make my way over to him.
Beerus, we need to talk.
But first, he scarfs down his parfait, as if he hasn't eaten in ages. I suppose he hasn't. Mine remains untouched; I can't remember the last time I felt the desire for food. I wait for him to finish.
It's time, my old friend.
Time? What does he mean? I try to ask him, but, again, my words fail.
When I named you God of Destruction, I gave you one rule. Do you remember what that rule was?
Honestly, I don't. It's been so long ago... I've seen so many things since then. Heard so many things. Tasted so many things.
Done so many things.
My confusion must have been apparent, as Whis gave an exasperated expression.
It's quite simple, Lord Beerus. You used to quote it all the time. Think back, I'm sure you'll remember.
I did? I haven't spoken in so long. Not since the moment that sparked my.....outburst. But suddenly, hazy memories from a time long since gone appear to me.
I see myself splitting a planet in half with the tap of a finger.
I see myself throwing a tantrum after losing a game to some Kaio.
I see myself standing above a tyrant, complaining about a race of barbarians.
I see myself standing against a god, who would do anything in his power to keep me from destroying an insignificant world.
And I remember, the mantra by which I had governed my life; the meaning behind my purpose.
Before creation comes destruction.
Whis stands up, proud of his student. He nods, and turns to fade away, leaving me alone once more.
But it's different now, for I know what I must do.
I pick up my parfait, feeling again. I take a bite, having not tasted anything so delicious in countless ages. It's so good, that I take another. And another. And before I know it, it's gone. And I am ready.
I rise, and ascend into the nothingness I have left in my wake. I look at my hands, these hands that have wreaked so much destruction. And now it's time to destroy all that remains. I feel the power growing inside me, and I unleash it now; all of it.
The pain is unbearable, but I push through it. Every part of my being screams at me to stop. I ignore it. I can feel myself dissolving, transforming into energy, as Whis must have done. But as I do this, I see a light in the distance. A light to shine in the nothingness.
As I fade away, I finally see, with the last of my sight, a new beginning. A light shines; and a universe is born.
I am content.

I wasn't...normal. I'd known that since I was a little girl. The other kids, they just wanted to fight. To kill. Me? I preferred what came after.
The meat sizzled, and I smiled. I flipped it, and it landed on the pan with a satisfying plop.
Saiyans loved two things. Fighting and eating. And despite not liking the first, I loved the second. And from that love, came an interest in the step between killing and eating. Cooking.
Cooking was a magical experience. The smells were the best part. When you killed something, it smelled terrible, but cooks transformed that into something heavenly.
I lifted the pan, and began flipping the meat some more. In the corner of my eye, I took in the lovely sight of the flame, dancing merrily as it did it's job.
Finally, the meal was complete.
"Order up!" I called.
As the man with spiky hair came up to get his food, another man approached. He was a piggish looking, pot-bellied bastard.
"Hey, this food here sucks!" he shouted
"The hell it does!" I fired back. Nothing got me angrier than having my food insulted. I wasn't normally the type to fight, but this would get me scrapping if I had too.
"Yeah, it does! I ain't paying for it." the man continued...
Right before a fist slammed into his face.
I stared at the spiky haired man who'd knocking the pig out cold.
"You're food's good." the man said simply.
As he walked away, I couldn't help but say "Thank! My name is Gine!"
He looked at me confusedly, then said "Bardock."
Bardock?
I liked that name

An immense shadowy figure stared aimlessly out into the depths of space from the quarters of his majestic fortress-like spaceship, anxiously waiting on some news. He stood over eight feet tall, with an exceptionally brawny physique. His tail, thick and long was stretched out by his feet, which each sported three toes. The outline of his head vaguely resembled a white head gear of some sort that protected his purple face. The entire top part of his head was a dark, but shiny shade of green that could easily pass off as a tint of black. But his most notable features were the two long horns that stemmed out from the sides of his head, and his sinister looking eyes.
"Your excellency, we're just about finished." a soft raspy voice called from behind.
"Hm? Already doctor?" the large figure responded as he turned around and looked down at the small green anthropomorphic lizard that had come to deliver the message.
"W-why yes sire.." replied the lizard with a hint of fear in his voice. "But his injuries were quite grave.. and he was practically at death's door. But thanks to our medical advancements we were able to fully restore him."
"I must say, I'm quite impressed." said the colossal being. "But that kind of credit goes to my son.." he added with an evil tone of annoyance. "My son Freeza, the great son of King Cold.. I wouldn't have expected less!" he eagerly concluded as his voice echoed with pride and his face lit up with a malicious grin.
"Why of course.. but even so, we're quite fortunate that we were able to bring him back after the mutilation he was forced to endure." said the lizard.
King Cold stared straight ahead with a blank but fearsome look in his eyes upon hearing this.
"Oh really? Well I guess that means you can retire early doctor." he said as sparks of red light glimmered in his eyes.
Within a second, the poor lizard was turned into a pile of ashes.
"Spare me the elaboration on the gory details.. It's bad enough that he got himself in such a mess in the first place." King Cold remarked as he angrily clenched his fist.
After he caught wind of his son's defeat, he had searched endlessly through the depths of space seeking an answer until he finally found him helplessly floating around the debris of an exploded planet with nothing but his upper body left. There were less than a handful of individuals in the whole universe who could actually put his son in the condition that he was in, and he knew full well that the two that came to mind were not the ones responsible for committing this heinous crime.
As the most illustrious clan in the universe, both he and his son were feared throughout the galaxies. Those who stepped up and opposed their tyranny were killed relentlessly.
That said, even he knew now was not the time to angrily mope around. He walked out of his quarters and into the long hallways of his spaceship until he reached a lab-like room that had a long desk of control panels and computers. Above the gadgets was a large glass window that separated the room from the treatment room. He looked through the sheet of glass and into the treatment room, where he saw his son Freeza stretched out on a metal table.
With over half his petite pearl white body and face fixated together with bits and pieces of metal and random remnants of other technological junk, he slowly sat up and looked at his father.
Cold smiled in excitement as he couldn't wait to play catch up with his beloved offspring. Freeza, however, had more pressing matters to attend to than a mere family reunion.
"Set a course for Earth father." Freeza quietly demanded. "The Super Saiyan must die." he added as he angrily clenched his teeth.
"Yes, I understand that you have some unfinished business, but we should discuss these matters in a more appropriate setting." replied Cold. "I shall meet you in my quarters soon." he added as he left the lab.
After returning to his quarters the large tyrant sat on his immense throne-like chair and rested both his arms on their respective armrests and calmly stared straight ahead as if he was locked in deep thought. A moment later, he used his left index finger to press one of the many buttons located just a few inches below the armrest to activate an intercom. "Bawri, set a course for the nearest Planet Cold at once!" he ordered.
"Yes my king!" replied a deep scratchy voice.
"Upon our arrival, I want you to order our chefs there to prepare a table with our finest wine." Cold asserted.
"Oh, and best they don't forget that Fromage stuff that Freeza seems to cherish so dearly." he added in a slightly threatening tone, as he disconnected the intercom.
With at least a few hundred planets that were forcefully seized and put under his name, King Cold often had the luxury of stopping by any one of them and having his every need catered to.
A few minutes later, the enormous tyrant was finally greeted by his son, who aggressively barged in without even knocking. "Why the hell are we headed to that blasted clod of dirt?!?!" Freeza asked in a rude but bratty voice.
"Ha. ha.. ha... because my son, we have much to discuss." said Cold with a sophisticated chuckle under his breath as he stood up from his chair.
"Besides, is that how you greet your father that you haven't seen in years?" he asked as he looked down and gave his son an adoring smile. "Revenge will be within grasp, but for tonight, we shall feast."
"What?!" Freeza squawked in surprise as he looked up at his ginormous father, who practically doubled him in height.
"I understand that you're quite frustrated, but we will ensure that our opposition is crushed... That I promise you." he concluded as he looked away from his son and evilly squinted his eyes.
About an hour later, a minion rushed into Cold's quarters to notify him that they've arrived at their destination.
"Your highness, we're within minutes of landing."
"Outstanding." replied Cold while he blankly looked out the window with his arms behind his back.
After the ship firmly anchored itself onto the ground, both father and son stepped out and examined the place like any royalty would upon setting foot in a place of commoners. They were surrounded by a rough terrain, with very few plants or trees, if any. The housing situation on the planet seemed quite poor as the majority of the buildings appeared old and run-down. The locals, who inhabited the planet were anthropomorphic wolves geared in the same generic armor worn by thousands of others who were employed by King Cold's galactic forces.
"Ha.. I see father still has that nasty habit of collecting dirt balls." Freeza thought to himself with a quick chuckle. "Why did you drag us here any way?" he asked as he glanced sideways at his father.
"Right this way son." Cold gestured as he lifted his right hand towards a distant palace.
"Hmph, whatever." said Freeza with a sickened look as he took flight alongside his father.
Cold carefully studied the environment from above. "Hmm.. I thought I specifically ordered these bumbling idiots to take better care of the damn place." he thought to himself.
After flying for a minute or two, the two tyrants looked down below after hearing a distant voice.
"It's the king!! Open the gates right away!!" the voice yelled.
Upon reaching the entrance to the palace, both father and son dropped down from the sky, and headed through the opening. On the other side of the gate, they found themselves in a large empty room with tacky decorations all over the wall. Straight ahead were several brown wooden doors, that each varied in size.
One of the doors suddenly opened, and out came a tall, lanky, gray anthropomorphic wolf. "Greetings sire." said the wolf with a serious look on his face as he humbly bowed down on one knee. "Everything has been prepared as you had requested."
"Excellent." Cold sternly answered. "Direct us to the banquet hall at once."
"Yes, sire." said the dog as he stood up and led them through the same door he had come out of. On the other side of that door was a long and seemingly endless hallway.
With an expression of disgust on his face, Freeza reluctantly followed his father. "The sooner we get off this poor excuse of a world, the sooner I get to kill that filthy Saiyan trash." he angrily mumbled to himself as he continued walking until they finally stopped at another door.
"Here we are sire, our banquet hall." said the wolf as he held the door open for his superiors.
Unlike the rest of the planet, the banquet hall was very glamorously decorated. Furthermore, the diverse assortment of gourmet food was clearly a work of art crafted by the hands of a true culinary master.
Freeza glazed around the immense table and carefully eyed each tasty morsel. There was a unique variety of fruits piled on a silver platter, loaves of bread mounted together, and numerous meat-based dishes. But the thing that caught his eye the most was the fancy bottle of wine that was placed next to a small plate of Fromage; a tasty snack that he had fallen in love with over the years.
"Quite the feast you had these fools prepare here eh father?" he asked in a more cheerful manner as one of the wolves walked over to his side and pulled a chair out for him.
"Heh, I knew you would be pleased." replied Cold as he too took his seat. "Now, what say you tell me all about this Super Saiyan you were mumbling about earlier." he proposed as he picked up the glass of wine and swirled the palatable red drink around in its glass.
Immediately after hearing his father's request, Freeza suddenly frowned with displeasure. Within seconds, a pink aura surrounded his body, and the table began to tremble, while plates fell and shattered on the floor. "S-s-ayian.. M-monkey.." he mumbled as his aura grew brighter and the shaking increased. Indeed it had been too much to swallow. He, the emperor of evil, had to beg for mercy after taking the beating of his life. It was absolutely mind-boggling and infuriating at the same time. What made it all the more unacceptable was the fact that it was at the hands of a Saiyan. A dirty ape. An inferior creature that belonged to the same damn race that had for decades, secretly instilled fear into him. "Damn it all!!!!!!" he screamed as he stood up from his chair and surrounded himself in a bright flash of purple light.
"Settle down Freeza! this is no time for a childish tantrum!" Cold fiercely ordered as he gave his son a piercing look.
Surprisingly enough, Freeza obeyed his father's orders and calmed down. "Very well father, I shall fill you in." he said as he sat down and brought himself back to his senses. After the traumatic string of events that had taken place, he really had to think back and recollect all the details. As he began pondering where he would begin, he bit into a piece of Fromage and quickly chased the bitter taste with a sip of wine. It was quite delicious, just as he had remembered.
After taking another moment to indulge in some of the luscious delicacies, he began filling his father in on the horrific turn of events that had taken place. All the way from his hunt for the Dragon Balls taking him to that miserable Planet Namek, to his encounter with that detestable Super Saiyan.
Cold put on a scowl in disgust as he took a sip of his wine. He too was quite infuriated that a Saiyan was the one to have disgraced his family name. "Well, I must say" he said as he slightly tilted his head downwards and swirled his wine around some more. "I truly empathize you my son." he added as he stopped swirling the drink and brought the glass to his mouth. "So how do you plan on proceeding from here?"
"It's simple, we set a course for that pitiful dump Earth that he calls home..." said Freeza right before taking a large gulp. "and slaughter him in cold blood." he concluded with a malevolent expression on his face.
"Cheers to that my son." Cold said as he held out his wine glass.
"Not yet father" said Freeza as his vile grin transitioned into a frown. "Not until I've successfully exacted my revenge." he added with a tone of seriousness.
"I presume you plan on blowing up the planet?" Cold asked curiously.
"No.. I plan on showing up personally and torturing every one of his filthy allies and subjecting him to the misery of finding their corpses lying around." Freeza said with a sinister look in his eyes as he angled his glass of wine towards his face.
"Foolish as ever... I see this whole ordeal has taught you nothing." said Cold as he squinted his eyes in disappointment. "Without a day of training under your belt, you think you've suddenly amassed the power to defeat the same foe who put you in that miserable condition?"
"And with a Saiyan I might add.."
"Do you honestly believe that those pathetic pieces of metal granted you the kind of power necessitated to exact your revenge against a creature who practically gains power with each battle?" he added.
"I refuse to invest my blood sweat and tears into fighting an ape!" Freeza yelled in anger as he downed the last bit of wine left in his glass. "Why the hell should I, Freeza, have to go above and beyond to do something as simple as taking out the trash?!"
"I see your point, then do the smart thing and blow the planet up from space." Cold suggested as he watched one of the wolves refilling his son's empty glass with a generous amount of wine.
"And deny myself the opportunity to entertain myself?" Freeza asked as he reached for his newly filled glass. "No... this monkey deserves special treatment" he said as he swirled his wine. "I want to see that fear of death in his eyes." he concluded with a spine-chilling voice.
"I understand.. after all, you are my son, and our bloodline demands that we conquer, rule, and yes torture." said Cold. "But there's really no benefit in giving into your pride and risking everything you've spent your entire existence acquiring."

"I applaud your ability to speedily find a needle in a hay stack, but do not bore me with the details." said Freeza as he promptly impaled him with a small beam of energy from his index finger. "But alas, this just further reinforces my decision to save myself the trouble and blow him away into space."
"It's time." he said with a look of delight sparkling in his face. "Father, please meet me out on the rooftop with some of that delicious wine. Heheheh"
With that, he flew out through the roof hatch in the control room and glared at his adversary's home. "My my.. what a resourceful looking little world. it could have been put to such good use had it not harbored so many filthy insects." said Freeza as he began to form a grin. "In any case, the decor around this sector of the universe is about to undergo a major makeover." he cackled as he began creating an orange lava-looking orb of energy at the tip of his index finger. "I'll put you away the same way I did your other home world Saiyan." he said as the flaming sphere expanded in size exponentially.
"A feeble creature such as yourself should never have challenged my might! Now you and your precious world will pay the ultimate price!!!!" he screamed as he chucked the massive fire ball straight at Earth. "Hahahaha!"
Watching the ball of death fall closer and closer to its destination and realizing that he was only seconds away from exacting his revenge was truly an awe-inspiring combination.
As the planet's core began to crack with streaks of bright orange, his father approached him from behind and handed him a glass of wine.
"To my vengeance." said Freeza with a sinister expression of malevolence as he lifted up his glass.
Right when the two glasses clanked, a massive explosion consumed Planet Earth along with its greatest hero. Vengeance was at last served.
"Your excellency, we're just about finished." a soft raspy voice called from behind.
"Hm? Already doctor?" the large figure responded as he turned around and looked down at the small green anthropomorphic lizard that had come to deliver the message.
"W-why yes sire.." replied the lizard with a hint of fear in his voice. "But his injuries were quite grave.. and he was practically at death's door. But thanks to our medical advancements we were able to fully restore him."
"I must say, I'm quite impressed." said the colossal being. "But that kind of credit goes to my son.." he added with an evil tone of annoyance. "My son Freeza, the great son of King Cold.. I wouldn't have expected less!" he eagerly concluded as his voice echoed with pride and his face lit up with a malicious grin.
"Why of course.. but even so, we're quite fortunate that we were able to bring him back after the mutilation he was forced to endure." said the lizard.
King Cold stared straight ahead with a blank but fearsome look in his eyes upon hearing this.
"Oh really? Well I guess that means you can retire early doctor." he said as sparks of red light glimmered in his eyes.
Within a second, the poor lizard was turned into a pile of ashes.
"Spare me the elaboration on the gory details.. It's bad enough that he got himself in such a mess in the first place." King Cold remarked as he angrily clenched his fist.
After he caught wind of his son's defeat, he had searched endlessly through the depths of space seeking an answer until he finally found him helplessly floating around the debris of an exploded planet with nothing but his upper body left. There were less than a handful of individuals in the whole universe who could actually put his son in the condition that he was in, and he knew full well that the two that came to mind were not the ones responsible for committing this heinous crime.

A moment later, he used his left index finger to press one of the many buttons located just a few inches below the armrest to activate an intercom. A few minutes later, a minion came frantically rushing into Cold's quarters. "Your majesty!" a he called as the door opened. "We've located a huge power.. It's quite immense. It's gotta be him!.."
"Freeza, to the control room!" yelled Cold as he left his quarters.
After reaching the control room, both Freeza and his father stared at the screen in bewilderment. It was an image of Goku training on top of the mountains in his Super Saiyan form.
"M-monkey..." Freeza mumbled in disgust as he tried hard to mask his fear.
"So this is a Super Saiyan.." said Cold with a feigned tone of amusement.
"Truly an incredible force.. Why he's even more powerful than Lord Freeza.." muttered the minion. Before he could get another word out, he saw Freeza looking straight at him
"I applaud your ability to speedily find a needle in a hay stack, but do not bore me with the details." said Freeza as he promptly impaled him with a small beam of energy from his index finger. "But alas, this just further reinforces my decision to save myself the trouble and blow him away into space."
"It's time." he said with a look of delight sparkling in his face. "Father, please meet me out on the rooftop with some of that delicious wine. Heheheh"
With that, he flew out through the roof hatch in the control room and glared at his adversary's home. "My my.. what a resourceful looking little world. it could have been put to such good use had it not harbored so many filthy insects." said Freeza as he began to form a grin. "In any case, the decor around this sector of the universe is about to undergo a major makeover." he cackled as he began creating an orange lava-looking orb of energy at the tip of his index finger. "I'll put you away the same way I did your other home world Saiyan." he said as the flaming sphere expanded in size exponentially.
"A feeble creature such as yourself should never have challenged my might! Now you and your precious world will pay the ultimate price!!!!" he screamed as he chucked the massive fire ball straight at Earth. "Hahahaha!"
Watching the ball of death fall closer and closer to its destination and realizing that he was only seconds away from exacting his revenge was truly an awe-inspiring combination.
As the planet's core began to crack with streaks of bright orange, his father approached him from behind and handed him a glass of wine.
"To my vengeance." said Freeza with a sinister expression of malevolence as he lifted up his glass.
Right when the two glasses clanked, a massive explosion consumed Planet Earth along with its greatest hero. Vengeance was at last served.
