So, do you guys think this means we will be seeing a Dragon Ball SD release? Personally, I think we will, but there just aren't enough chapters do do so. Last I remember, SD has 5, and Rock Lee has a good 8.Hujio wrote:In addition, the latest issue of Saikyo Jump notes that the magazine's featured manga will begin receiving tankoubon releases on 3 February 2012. So far only releases for "Chopperman" (One Piece spin-off) and "Rock Lee" (Naruto spin-off) have been announced, which are set at ¥400 (~$5.20) a piece. Oddly enough, there has been no mention of DragonBall SD or any other main series being released. This is presumably due to the fact that SD is drawn entirely in color, as opposed to the others which are simply drawn in black and white.

I'm surprised nobody has posted this yet. While on Kanzentai, I found on the front page that there will soon be tankoubons for the manga in Saikyou Jump. Directly from the front of Kanzentai:

Well, SD is in full color, not typical for tankobans. Plus, I'm not sure they'd know exactly what to do. The series jumps around a lot, so how do they order the chapters? Do they put the first quarterly DB chapter with the eventual other monthly versions in order to have some sort of chronological...well, logic, to the story? Do they do it in the order they were released and bounce around? It has been a pretty odd series.funrush wrote:So, do you guys think this means we will be seeing a Dragon Ball SD release? Re: Saikyou Jump Tankoubons
They should wait a good while until there's enough to release a Tankoubon. I think now that Ooshi is taking the "pace" down a notch, that there will be enough material to release at least one volume. 1-4 should just be extras.

Re: Saikyou Jump Tankoubons
There have only been 6 issues of Saikyou Jump released so far (four 2011 seasonal issues, and two 2012 monthly issues). I don't know how other series would have more than 6 chapters (do they have more pages? also appear in other magazines?). But they could do an all color collected release, like with anime/movie comics. Or maybe they're waiting to do something kanzenban sized, like Neko Majin eventually had.
If Shueisha wants my money, they need to do a collected release, because I got tired of importing magazines for something as crappy as SD.

I'm sure the first volume of DBSD will be released anytime soon. They just don't want to release all the series at the same time, or else people would have to choose what to buy.
Look at Weekly Shonen Jump, for example. Kagami no Kuni no Harisugawa #1 was released this month, but Kurogane #1 was released last month, even though the series debuted almost at the same time.

Sorry, I can't speak English very well, but I'm trying my best.

I only read the first 2 or 3, but the others don't sound very promising. I'll probably read more if/when it gets a collected release.sangofe wrote:Did you think chapter 5 was crappy?

Well, I don't know. I've been pondering this myself. When compared to previous chapters it's better, but does that make it good? I honestly don't know.sangofe wrote:It is much better... so I think you will get a pleasant surprise

They've been doing 2 chapters of the Rock Lee one. I think they might've dropped Vongola Grand Prix, since I haven't heard anything on that, so they just filled it with more Rock Lee. (Ironically, both seemed as forced as SD in their humor. Rock Lee comes out slightly on top)TripleRach wrote:There have only been 6 issues of Saikyou Jump released so far (four 2011 seasonal issues, and two 2012 monthly issues). But if what made it funnier this time was how it reference both earlier and later parts of the series...doesn't it just make it "Dragon Ball...only not as good as the original"?sangofe wrote:I honestly smiled and laughed a couple of times and found it like a fun part of Dragonball to read...AgitoZ wrote:Well, I don't know. The ending make me smile as well, oh well, I'm gonna stop defending what I like. Each to their own.
