Dragon Ball Z airs in Croatia

Post by MCDaveG » Sat Aug 20, 2011 2:12 pm

Just found on the net that DBZ is now airing in Croatia on RTL televizija.
Opening uses German instrumental with croatian vocals :)) I was pretty surprised, because dub isn't anything awesome (on par with German and French).

You can catch it each morning from Monday to Sunday on Croatian RTL.

This has already been dicussed here.

I hate the Croatian dub. It's really retarded. Well, everything Croatia dubs is retarded. I can never go to the cinema to watch an animated feature because everything must be dubbed for the stupid kids... :D

Do you mean it is censored heavily?

I think it's exactly the German-French version. Because aquiring the original rights from TOEI and making own scripts would be probably more expensive then translate it from one european language to another.
This version is known for unexplained cuts and video editing. This was the first version I saw, but I don't remember anything like what we saw with friend, when we turned on Cartoon Network and full of anticipation thought: Cool, let's see that, we know english better then German..................................................................... errrr.
But I think that when Krillin is exploding, it's not visible and is somewhat cut out or toned down.

I think the whole Europe have the French version of the series, but I think the Spanish release with all of the different Spanish languages are Japanese one?

The Croatian dub is based on the German version, but oddly enough, they imported episode 94 and 95 from Japan. Only these two episodes have the DBOX footage and it's played at correct NTSC speed. They're also uncensored.

In addition, few episodes look like some old crappy VHS rip:

I don't really know about that cause I watched only a couple of minutes of a few episodes, but the voices are horrible, the intro music is awful, I just don't understand why they had to dub it. I remember that a TV programme (years ago) showed the original Japanese version...

... i dont want to create another thread,
but its related - as kei17 stated that the croatian version is based on the german one.

After 7 years Dragonball Z airs again in Germany on RTLII ...
The last DBZ airing was between 2005 and 2006 on TELE5 ...

From October 2 on, RLTII will air two episodes every sunday in their anime morning program ...

... i dont watch tv anymore,
but its a good thing i think that they air dbz and other anime in their morning program so that younger generations
can get in contact with dbz :D
