These 4 are tied for best fight :

Ssj Goku vs Freeza.

Ssj Goku vs Cell.

Ssj2 Goku vs Majin Vegeta.

Ssj3 Goku vs Kid Buu

The majority of the other fights in the franchise are mostly one sided so these stand out due to both fighters being evenly matched which makes for more interesting fights.

My personal favorite fight in all of the series is Goku and Vegeta's first fight; and by extension Goku, Gohan, Kuririn, and Yajirobe vs. Vegeta. There's a sense of desperation from both sides that I feel isn't captured quite as well as any other fight in the series, not even in the Freeza arc. Goku and his friends/son trying to do in Vegeta at any cost to keep him from killing anybody else, and to avenge their fallen friends. Vegeta in his struggle to finally kill everyone so that he can recuperate and exterminate Earth's population, as well as wanting to head to Namek to gain immortality using their Dragon Balls. Every single person being pushed to their limits in fights seems to enhance this sense, and just makes the fight a better one to me.

Especially from the Cave scene to the end. It's nice to see a fight that just plays out without being interrupted over and over.

In all seriousness, Majin Vegeta vs. Goku comes to mind. It was pretty well choreographed, if I remember correctly.

Goku vs Vegeta 1, hands down. It had a little of everything. It even had some humor, thanks to Yajirobe. Unlike the Mr. Satan bullshit in the Cell games, however, it didn't distract from the tone, mood, or intensity of the battle.

Most overrated = Majin Vegeta vs SSJ2 Goku, imo. I found it boring. It had nothing special, besides the novelty of the rematch itself and some emotional dialogue from Vegeta.

Z-Fighters vs Vegeta. Great fight choreography, interesting new techniques, awesome use of teamwork and an ending that left more room for an even greater story to be told.

In all of Dragon Ball, I'd probably have to go with SSJ2 Goku vs Majin Vegeta. It's overrated as fuck but the quality is there.
