Any copyright-free music in the style of Shunsuke Kikuchi?

Post by ssj5 » Mon Nov 21, 2016 9:46 pm

I have a youtube channel which I monetize, after a long time and effort, I'm actually moving enough traffic to make around 100 bucks a month, not much but better than nothing.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows copyright-free music in the style of Shunsuke Kikuchi (original japanese BGM from DBZ). I'm sure I could be able to get away with using it in my projects and nothing would happen, I don't think they claim copyright for those, but I don't want to risk it. I already risk a bit by using the classic punch/ki attacks/explosions sfx since without then it's just impossible to get a legit Dragon Ball vibe (see Super), even tho I'm sure that's 100% safe since at this point those sounds have become like all those old drum breaks that everyone samples, but music is another story.

I have searched a lot in the Youtube library for some music that could match the vibe of the original BGM but nothing works. I wish I could use them but again, I don't wanna risk it.

If it was associated with Dragon Ball, it's protected by copyright. If you have any skills in remixing audio, using your version would qualify under fair use as long as it's genuinely redone.

Are you sure? as far as I know, they can still claim copyright on remixes for shared revenue (you get 50% and they get 50% or something like that), even tho I guess it's even more unlikely that they do claim copyright, if they already don't on the original BGM.

I noticed MaStar media throws the original BGM sometimes in his videos and his videos get millions of views...

I just don't know any case of Toei claiming copyright on those old songs. But anyway, I don't want to risk it that's why I asked for copyright free music in that style.

So no one has any suggestions? the copyright-free music from the youtube library is so dull. I am so tempted to sneak in some tracks from the DBZ japanese BGM...
