Ultimate Gohan

Post by Kamiccolo9 » Mon Jan 14, 2013 12:30 pm

First Post! Hey everyone, I don't know if this has been discussed before, but is it possible that Gohan lost the ability to access his full power after he died? I feel that this could explain why he became a Super Saiyan in GT, and could also explain why Goku and Vegeta didn't consider transporting him to fight Kid Buu. What do you guys think?

Since at the moment having an opinion is all we can do, I don't believe in that. Losing something like that over dying doesn't make much sense to me -- nobody lost their power by dying in DB before. And even after being revived, Gohan still had the "Ultimate"-exclusive, SSJ-ish eyes in his "base" form. I really really hope that maybe the BOG movie or the Chozenshuu guidebooks will elaborate on that.

Yeah, you're probably right. I'm just trying to get GT to make sense (may be a lost cause  ). The Kid Buu example can probably be explained due to Vegta coming up with the wishes and him not knowing about Gohan's strength.
Second question: Could Gohan and the others have retained their injuries from their fights with Buu after being revived? That could explain why Gohan's ki wasn't enough to power up the Genki Dama enough to kill Buu, and I don't believe that Vegeta's injuries were restored when he was brought back to life either.

The Genki Dama takes genki, which is only a part of ki. Since we don't know how exactly genki correlates with ki (maybe everyone has the same amount of genki, but other parts of ki differ?), we can't really tell how much has Gohan helped the Genki Dama in comparison to other people.

Also Vegeta and Gohan's revival cases are kinda different. Vegeta had a body and was already on Earth. Shenlong just removed his "death status", without which he lost the halo and didn't need to return to the afterlife after his time was up. Gohan, on the other hand, had his body restored along with Earth and everyone in it. Shenlong might as well just restored his strength as an "extra service".

It's possible.

I would like it if he did, or if he lost it over time. Never was a fan of Ultimate/mystic or fusion dance. Just seems to easy.

Isn't he supposed to be a Super Saiyan in the new movie to?

He's a Super Saiyan in the advertisements I've seen. Maybe the new movie will explain why he uses it in GT

Until we get any new info on this subject in the new movie (if we get any), he lost it for me.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Genki is ki. And what I mean by that is that regardless of it only being a certain portion of your ki, it's the majority of it. Goku showed us that the other 2 aspects of ki has never changed for him ever since dragonball (bravery and character). This is why genki and ki are interchangeable when quoting the characters when powering up the Genki dama against Vegeta, Freeza, and Pure boo, and that is because they are pretty much the same thing.
Vegeta said they are taking "ki" up to their limits.
Dende : We already used our ki, what now".
Kaioshin was out of ki after lending his and said he couldn't teleport to heal Goku.
People were shown exhausted.
Goku: “Sh-shit…! It-it’s already over 1 minute, but…N-not yet! I still can’t wipe out Boo with this much…! [ ] …Da...Damn it……..!! …I haven’t gathered all the "ki"!! What’s going on? He…he’ll be killed…..!!!”

All of these are key points ultimately proving that Genki = majority of your ki and that it's virtually the same thing. The one with Freeza only took a little bit of genki (ki), but the one against Kid boo took ki up to their limit as stated by Vegeta. It can be argued however that the little ki remaining from the individual after lending it, is their bravery and character.

So from all this, we can safely conclude that Gohan did contribute most of his ki, therefore concluding that he wouldn't have been able to defeat Pure boo.

He could have because he's stronger than Goku. So there's definitely a flaw in your theory. I'm not gonna try and figure it out because we really don't know much details about how ki works in DB.
