Broly Getting Stronger

Post by Super Vegito » Sun Nov 07, 2010 8:58 pm

This has probably been asked before..

I was watching the Funimation dub of Broly The Legendary Super Saiyan, and I noticed Broly started to breathe, as if he was tired, and says I quote, "Getting stronger. Yes, much stronger". Then he goes up and releases large bursts of Ki, as if to relieve himself.

In every VS thread I have read about Broly, they always mention him getting stronger over time. So is this true, or is it just a dub error/fanwanking? If so, what did Broly really say?

Thanks.

His chi was just continuously rising (up to that point at least) and his body can only hold so much, so he had to release the excess chi. His actual power doesn't continuously grow, unlike what some Broli wankers like to claim.

The scene's purpose was to showcase Broly's power cap.

I doubt Broly gets stronger just because the ki is overflowing but it's pretty useful for broly to launch a big ki attack like Omega Buster.

Broly didn't use "Omega Buster" in Movie 8.

I was only pointing "Omega Buster" out as example since I don't know any other techniques broly has.

Broly doesn't really have any "techniques." All he does is smash people and throw green Ki balls of various sizes. Any names given to his attacks are merely for the sake of convenience in games and such.

That said, to answer the original question, I agree with Cola. Broly's Ki is, in one fashion or another, constantly surging and replenishing itself, almost as if he had an Infinite Energy Core like the Androids. So long as he's not being challenged and injured, his Ki won't run out once he's powered up. However, his body can only hold and channel so much at once, so he had to simply expel the excess.

I wonder if his comment (and subsequent "ki farting") was more akin to Goku's SSJ3 against Boo; it grows and grows and grows until the body can't hold onto it anymore and then it starts to literally escape him. Cue Goku's punch right as he's dropped to a BP beneath the total strength of the punch.

If I hear it from you guys, then it must be true. Broly's Ki goes up, but it doesn't make him stronger, and he can only hold so much. Makes sense.

I don't see why Broli wouldn't be able to handle the power he gains thanks to his unique powers of the legendary form. Sorry, but I don't find any sense in that.
Super Saiyan 3 is completely different, as the form is hard to maintain and consumes a lot of user's energy.

I always thought Broly's ki rose in his LSSJ form but he did have a limit and that was why that scene was there.

But he obviously got significantly stronger between movie 8 and 10. He had to have gotten a huge zenkai from recovering from Goku's Toei Punch.

I guess you could say Broli's kinda like a cup being filled with water; once it gets too full, it starts to overflow and spill everywhere.

Good analogy. The Super Saiyan heroes know how to train themselves to be bigger, better cups that can hold more water. Broly, however, is just all, "WATER, WATER EVERYWHERE, RAAAARGH."

And the overflowing water just floods everyone else's cups of water and ruins the tea party.

You can't simply attribute whatever abilities you want to the Legendary form just because the form is unique. All the evidence points to the cup analogy being the way things work.

Like what evidence? Some sort of effect Broli tends to release out of him?

The way the event played out, I took it more as Broli being a water balloon and his ki being water. There's only a safe amount of water that the balloon can hold in it before it starts to become dangerously stressed to the point of bursting. Him releasing those ki blasts would be like just letting out a large amount of the water so that the balloon wasn't under as much stress.

I don't really like the cup analogy only because a cup overflowing with water isn't going to necessarily damage the cup itself. Sure overflowing it would cause the water to spill out, but it's not stressing the durability of the cup to fill it to the top and overflow it.

What if it's a paper cup and only the inside is waxed?

Yeah, pretty much what can be gathered from that.

The cup and ballon analogies work as well.
