Super Saiyan Eyes
I did a search for this and the only topic that came up was one about SSJ4 eyes. So my friend and I are having a dispute about the color of SSJ eyes. A Google search produced various answers, so I figured I would ask the DB community. What exactly are the color or the intended color of a SSJ's eyes? I say they are more of a green, while my friend says they are more of a blue. If anybody has any good info, screenshots, or especially some cels with a good shot of the eyes, I would appreciate it. It would be especially nice if someone got the color (I don't know if they code their colors coded or whatever) from Toei and could place it on the color spectrum. I'm assuming it's going to be between green and blue, but closer to green.
Re: Super Saiyan Eyes
In the anime they're obviously colored light blue, I have no idea why people say they're green.
Re: Super Saiyan Eyes
Yeah, the colors can vary from medium to medium, but the standard is green. Heck, in some early illustrations of Super Saiyan Goku, Toriyama colored his eyes red. I kinda wish that stuck...

Since there are a fair number of people who say this, I can't tell whether or not you're being sarcastic.hleV wrote:In the anime they're obviously colored light blue, I have no idea why people say they're green.

Oh wow, thanks! This pretty much settles it! Is there a way to use the color code given and graph it on a color scale? I tried to Google the color and I couldn't find anything!
Re: Super Saiyan Eyes
You could just copy the image and use the color picker that's on most image editing programs if that's what you're trying to do. Alternatively, if you just want the color code, just use the color picker and open up the color editor on the computer.DanielGClapp wrote:Oh wow, thanks! This pretty much settles it! The color comes off a sort of teal to me... almost aqua.
Re: Super Saiyan Eyes
I've always thought they were more green than blue in the anime, and pictures like the one below always just convince me further. I used to call it turquoise, but these days I do think teal is closer.hleV wrote:In the anime they're obviously colored light blue, I have no idea why people say they're green.

Re: Super Saiyan Eyes
Alright, so I got an attachment color picker for firefox. I used it on the box to get the color. Since, according to the color picker, the color was a gradient, I picked the color that was most abundant, which happened to be in the middle. The color is #19AC83 and looks like this. Here is where it ranks on the color scale.
So, I compared this color to teal on the color scale. Teal is exactly #008080 and looks like this. Here it is on the color scale.
Now, obviously there is not a name for every shade of color, and there is probably not a name for this particular color, other than #19AC83. I guess we'll call it green teal.

Re: Super Saiyan Eyes
People actually tend to see colors slightly differently. So, with colors that are somewhere between two main colors, some people will say it most like one of the colors and others will say its most like the other.DarkGokuZ wrote:This is going in my sig.digireign wrote:I vote to call it "Super Cyan."DanielGClapp wrote:I guess we'll call it green teal.

Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

YES!digireign wrote:I vote to call it "Super Cyan."DanielGClapp wrote:I guess we'll call it green teal.
But yeah It is obviously Green in the anime. I mean I GUESS if you wanted to you could call it green-blue with it going more to the green part of the spectrum. But then again, we all see color a little different in my opinion.
Wow. I like this post. I was actually thinking just that, as seen in what I wrote above, before I saw what you wrote.rereboy wrote:People actually tend to see colors slightly differently. Anyway. Did Mr. Toriyama ever say what color he thought they where? Or did he do a colored in page of a Super Sayia-jin with green eyes?
