Buu Hierarchy

Post by Nikkolas » Sat Apr 28, 2012 6:50 am

So to start off with, I just want to see if I understand the power rankings.

Super Buu w/Gohan (and the others)
Super Buu w/Gotenks (and Piccolo)
"Buff" Buu (I dunno if this is anime only but this is the brief form we see where Vegeta - or maybe it was Goku - comments that Super Buu's power was continuing to rise. We see it only for a bit before he finally reverts to Kid Buu)
Super Buu w/Piccolo (and the brats)
Super Buu
Fat Buu
Evil Buu
Kid Buu
Good/Mr. Buu

Is that right?

More interestingly though, I've always wondered why Super Buu is apparently so much stronger than Fat Buu when they draw upon the exact same sources of power. Is it something to do with him being more in touch with his evil nature do you think?

Speaking of which, I was curious about that too.

Obviously Kid Buu would be 100% Evil. Mr. Buu would be 100% Good.

So...what does that make Evil Buu and Super Buu? Shouldn't Evil Buu at least be -as- dangerous as Kid Buu?
Super Buu is like 95% Evil I guess but not completely since he still retained the effects of the Kai's goodness and his affection for Mr. Satan.

I agree with those power rankings you have, seem spot on.

As for Super Boo and Fat Boo, Fat Boo has his power suppressed by the Dai Kaioshin's influence. Super Boo lacks that influence, so his power isn't suppressed.

Evil Boo and Kid Boo are different entities. Evil Boo is the physical manifestation of Majin Boo's evil side, while Kid Boo is the original Boo. Evil Boo's power comes from the weaker Fat Boo, so that's why he isn't as strong.

It should actually be;

Gohan-Boo
Gotenks-Boo
Piccolo-Boo
Evil Boo
Pure Boo
Fat Boo
Pure Evil Boo
Mr Boo

Pure Boo>Pure Evil Boo & Fat Boo due to these quotes;

Vegeta: “This’ll be fun…Will you turn back into this fatso? Or will you become that scrawny guy? …Either way, it seems that your power will doubtlessly fall below what it is now.”

Vegeta: “The truth is you were right [that I’d be killed by Boo]. That Boo is stronger than I imagined…”

So he was expecting someone as strong as Fat(or Mr) or Pure Evil Boo but he got someone who was stronger than them. That at least means Pure Boo>the above imo.
Voltaire: "I have never made but one prayer to God, a very short one: 'O Lord, make my enemies ridiculous.' And God granted it."

Yeah, Pure Boo (the small one)'s stronger than Evil Boo (the grey one) because the former fought evenly with SS3 Gokuu, who could've defeated Fat Boo, of which Evil Boo is part of and, therefore, a good deal weaker.

Woops, I totally missed Kid Boo being ranked that low. Yeah, I'd say he's above both Pure Evil and Mr Boo, but I wouldn't be so quick to put him above Fat Boo (he probably is though).

I don't think there's much questionable about it. SS3 Gokuu, even holding back, was able to dominate Fat Boo in their fight, later admitting that he could've in fact defeated him if he didn't want Goten and Trunks to do so. Then he fights Pure Boo on even ground, but has a difficult time due to his regeneration. Notice that the energy strain is only even mentioned once Gokuu actually tries to power up for a final attack, so it's safe to say that there was little to no difference between alive and dead SS3 Gokuu when they're fighting and not powering up for one last attack.

I mean, you could argue that there's more of a difference than presented, but I think it's a pretty clear implication that Kid Boo, who was stronger than both Gokuu and Vegeta imagined, is stronger than Fat Boo, whom Gokuu was pretty sure he could defeat if he wasn't holding back for the kids' sake.

IMO, the Majin Boo hierarchy is:

1. Super Boo (Gohan, Goten & Trunks absorbed)
2. Super Boo (Gotenks & Piccolo absorbed)
3. Pure Boo (South Kaioushin absorbed)
4. Super Boo (Piccolo, Goten & Trunks absorbed)
5. Super Boo
6. Pure Boo
7. Fat Boo
8. Evil Boo
9. Mister Boo

Note: "Pure Boo" refers to the small and final Boo fought, "Evil Boo" refers to the skinny grey Boo expelled from Fat Boo, and Mister Boo refers to Fat Boo after expelling his evil.

Wasn't stated that Boo got weaker than his original self (Pure Boo) when he absorbed Dai Kaioshin?

I don't think SS3 Goku could have beaten Majin Boo. He seemed to think so later, but I believe he was wrong just like he was wrong about being able to beat Pure Boo.

Because he was in really terrible condition after the fight with Fat Boo, I think if he was fucked either way.

When he was back at the lookout after the battle, Goku was all exhausted and everything.

This was because his time on Earth was about to end. And we didn't really see an all out long battle. And don't forget that Goku thought he could beat Boo while he was exhausted.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Indeed, it is Pure Boo (South Kaioushin absorbed).

Nothing contradicts it, though, so why not take it at face value and accept the obvious implication? Both Piccolo (touted as most intelligent character in the series, to the point that Boo actually bothered to absorb him just for that) and Gokuu agreed that Gokuu would be able to defeat Boo, but held back to give Gotenks a chance. Even when holding back, Gokuu still maintained the upper hand in their fight.

He was wrong about being able to beat Pure Boo because he only had knowledge of SS3, its power and limitations when he was dead. He'd never tested it alive, so it's a plausible fallacy. Gokuu would've been able to beat Pure Boo, as is implied by the story itself, if he was alive and could actually conjure up the necessary ki to override his regeneration with one final attack. I know the Boo arc was a mess writing-wise due to Toriyama's fatigue, but I don't think he would've included those clear implications there if he didn't want us to believe in it.

His time on Earth was about to end because of SS3. And he thought he could beat Pure Boo as well, until he actually tried gathering the energy.

Disregarding his dead/alive body shits, if he was under normal conditions, he could beat both Innocent & Pure Boo in his SSJ3.

I think he (and others, including me) means that he was exhausted because he was gradually coming closer to his time limit about to end. As time went on, presumably, he'd start losing more and more energy in the living realm.

That doesn't change the fact that SS3 Gokuu held back against Fat Boo, yet was still dominating, albeit in their brief bout. Who's to say that, if he didn't use his full power, he could've blown away the pink fatty once and for all?

He didn't seem to be dominating the fight. Boo wasn't angry at all, which makes him power up considerably. If he tried to power up and end Boo with one blast, he might have failed like with Kid Boo. If the fight continued and got serious, Boo would probably become enraged and pummel Goku.
