Shisami Questions

Post by Lord Frieza » Mon Aug 10, 2015 2:58 pm

Ok although he's a minor character he's become my favorite member of Freeza's army so I had a few questions to see what people think.

1) How tall is he? He looks to be roughly the same high as second form Freeza maybe taller. (Not an important question I was just curious)

2) Why do you think he doesn't wear a scouter when every other member of the Galactic Army dose?

3) Why is is so much stronger then ever other member of the army both passed and present? Is he a mutant who had lots of untapped potential or could his race possibly have a zenkai like ability?

4) Do you want to see more of him in Super?

5) Who's voicing him in the Funimation dub? (Another not so important question)

1: You can get a general idea of his height here
Image
2: In the original script, it seems like he was supposed to be some mercenary Freeza recruited after being revived, so maybe he declined to have a scouter.
3: He could be a mutant like the Ginyus, I guess.
4: Nah, I'm good.
5: I don't know, but it should be on the movie's Wikipedia page.

This actually would have made more sense. I hope Super does this.

1. A little bit taller than Piccolo, who is officially 7'5. So 7'7? If you don't count the horns.

2. He probably figures he doesn't need one, because he's that strong. It's possible he can actually sense ki, but I highly doubt it, since that always seemed to be reserved for the gods. That's where the Earthlings learned it, after all.

3. He's not that much stronger. He's stated to be equal to Zarbon or Dodoria, so both them would be in his league, plus Cui and Tagoma. The Ginyus would be stronger than him. As would Cooler's goon squad, and Abo and Kado.

4. He's a non-entity, so idc.

5. Brad Venable

It was actually Beerus disguised as Zarbon #StayWoke

Its a shame people dont want to see more of him, after all he, Sorbet and Tagoma have the potential to be just as interesting if not more so then Freeza's other solders. These guys aren't lazy over-privileged bullies that lurk in Freeza's shadow like Zarbon and Dedoria. With out them, The Ginyu Force, The Armored Squadron, Abo and Kado or any of the Cold Family its been down to Shisami and Tagoma to be the power behind Sorbet's intellectual thrown as all three of them desperate try to keep the army afloat. Which is why I think the comparison to Zarbon and Dedoria just down plays how hard these guys must have been working and fighting all these years.

As for Shisami's power while he might not have been that strong at the start of the movie there's no way in hell he's that weak during his fight Piccolo who isent even breathing hard after wiping out all those goons. I would say they are on an equal footing but Piccolo has wasted a little energy fighting so he's not in the best starting position to go toe-to-toe with someone his equal. Plus Gohan thought it was necessary to go super saiyan to one shot him. The only member of Frieza's army that he could be compared against would be Aka but its hard to do since Aka's fight wasn't serious except for the end .

It's never suggested at any point that he got any stronger, and SS Gohan, Piccolo, and the others were all cowering in fear at the thought of facing a power level of (much) less than 1.3 million. He doesn't need to be any stronger than Zarbon, because the Z-gang is extremely weak in this movie. Hence why they have trouble with goons who are weaker than Cymbal.

Its a shame they didn't use this idea, I suppose it got scrapped for the same reason any scenes of Freeza training did as well. I hope this idea gets used in some way during Super.

People really need to stop capping Freeza at 1.3m. His actual comment:
Is that so surprising? In my estimation, if I train hard for 4 months then…I should acquire a battle power of 1.3 million…
You'll have to excuse Freeza's naivete. He had never trained a day in his life, so he had no clue what type of gains he could actually achieve from training. 1.3m was just his inexperienced(and grossly inaccurate) guess. I am confident of this because even Gohan and Piccolo(whose BPs were in the hundredS of millionS) outright stated that even 1st form Freeza was in a completely different class than them. Heck, even after Gohan ate a senzu, he still wanted no part of a battle with Freeza. Judging by their reactions to his power, it's logical to assume that he was already in the upper-echelon of ki that they had ever sensed.

You really think so? I just think that most of these error are their purely because they crammed so much fighting and comedy moments into the movie that minor but necessary plot points that would have explained these issues where cut or dropped. As for the 1.3 million power level thing DB's been haveing trouble with numbers since Goku's age was changed in the 21st Tenkaichi Budōkai I just ignored it right of the bat.

P.S. I dont mean Goku cant count, I'm refering to the fact that if you look at the dates the series provides Goku's birthday doesn't happen until some time after the Tenkaichi Budōkai so he cant be 12.

Yes, he's in a completely different league than them because they're both really weak. Piccolo gets up beaten up by a Zarbon-tier guy, Gohan needs to go SS to beat that guy, and they all have trouble against mooks that are weaker than Cymbal. Not only is it never at any point suggested that Freeza wildly exceeded his own estimations, but even if he did, the fact of the matter is that his estimation for this enormous power-up that would put him above Buu is... about 1% of Manga!Freeza's power.

I'd write it off as an inconsistency if it wasn't actually consistent with everything else in the movie. The 1.3 million number, Freeza thinking 1.3 million is stronger than Buu, SS Gohan and the others being trash to 1st form Freeza, an explicitly Zarbon-level guy beating up Piccolo, the gang having trouble with mooks (Krillin nearly died, and he was at least stronger than the Ginyu Force in the manga), those same mooks dying to a giant fish, Jaco being relevant in battle, more mooks dying when a big rock falls on them... it all fits together fine on its own. The Z-gang is just really weak in this movie.

Yeah, Freeza estimates his BP increase, but nothing confirms that is in fact where he ends up. To the contrary, Freeza actually seem to be horribly with estimating anything, whether it be his potential in numerical format or how long it will take a planet to explode. Likewise, the Japanese version doesn't explicitly state anything about Shisami and Tagoma's power being on par with Zarbon and Dodoria. It's not clarified what Sorbet means, so they could be talking about their power...or you know: position, loyalty, ability to get shit done, whatever.

There's a reason I try to stay away from this section of the fandom anymore. People seem to just be latching on to whatever it is they don't like (almost exclusively strength stuff though) and treating it as if that's literally the only interpretation to validate their dislike of said thing. It's tiring.
Direct translations of the Korean DB Online timeline and guidebook.

Depends on its strength, just because its an animal dosent mean its weak. Look at Yakon, he's little more then semi-sentient monster who cant control ki yet he has a battle power that rivaled Freeza's.

People blow the fish scene out of proportion. It's a fucking children's T.V. show. It's meant to be silly, not serious for christ sake.

The reaching has reached new levels. Do you have any evidence that the giant fish was anything other than a giant fish? Or that the big rock was anything other than a big rock?

He estimates that to surpass Buu he'll need a BP of 1.3 million. He's never contradicted. It's pretty black and white. The speculation about Shisami is really reaching, since Tagoma is also said to be equal in ability to Zarbon or Dodoria and he's effortlessly killed by 1st form Freeza.

Even if I were to go with this non-logic, it's irrelevant. He still said that 1.3 million would be a massive improvement over his power at the time.

He's probably referring to the Bardock special. Zarbon was the one who first recommended destroying Planet Vegeta because the saiyans were rapidly growing in strength.
It was actually Beerus disguised as Zarbon #StayWoke

Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

...Because it would have been. The PL of his first form was only 530k, after all--1.3m is more than double that. :)

This certainly doesn't mean 1.3m ended up being his peak PL, however. That was just his "estimation", based on no personal experience whatsoever. Again: Freeza had never trained a day in his life, so there was NO way for him to know what type of gains he would actually see. Ultimately, he ended up being far more of a prodigy than he gave himself credit for.

Also, non-logic, you say? Well, to each his own. Personally, I think clinging to a single throwaway line in lieu of the evidence to the contrary is much more illogical. After all, Piccolo(who can very accurately sense ki) explicitly stated that 1st form Freeza was VASTLY more powerful than all of them... And this was AFTER they'd all eaten senzu beans.

So unless you believe that Piccolo and SSJ Gohan, at full-power, are sub-1.3m, then that line should be disregarded as the inaccurate trash it is.
