Thought Illusions Theories

Post by ShadowBardock89 » Sun Feb 12, 2017 7:52 pm

Throughout the series (at least the anime), pseudo-versions of the heroes, villains, and other characters have appeared. Whether it is the Illusion Saiyans, Princess Snake & her attendants, the Ghost Warriors, the fake Super Buu clones, or most recently, the illusions from the forest of fear, they all have a few things in common: they are made by another entity to be an obstacle or obscure something, they have physical traits and can interact with actual people, and have some obscure way of dispelling them. While the Illusion Saiyans' actual existence is ambiguous (filler, I know) and how the Ghost Warriors actually work are a mystery, Princess Snake and Buu seem to use either a higher concentration of thought to make their thought forms come to life or use some sort of magic (or both).
Now, I'm looking for an in-universe explanation for these things. Some are based on memories or experiences, like Buu's thought clones are based on the people he just absorbed and the Ghost Warriors seemed to be formed from the strength of the ethereal grudges from deceased enemies. The Fear illusions were explained and dealt with in the two episodes they were introduced in. My personal theory on Princess Snake and her attendants is that she originally looked like that but is now cursed to be a giant snake, much like Arachne or the Gorgons in Greek mythology, and her illusions are based on her formerly life and brought to life either through a higher concentration of mind power or magic (much like Super Buu). Buu, on the other hand, had to cease any physical movement to to control a version of himself inside his own head. So, is it the same case with Princess Snake?
What are everyone else's thoughts?
