What is "Godly" about Goku/Vegeta?
Honestly, besides their ki what exactly is Godly about the two?
Vegeta died from a planet explosion.
Vegeta couldn't lift 1000+ tons.
Goku and that damn laser.
Goku getting hurt by a bullet.
Goku using his "God" for almost everyone for no real reason.
They can't breath in space
They can still die from earthly things such as poison, viruses, diseases.
They can die from extremely cold and hot tempatures.

Other than being able to fight strong beings and Goku able to do some damage to Beerus (whereas SSJ3 was defeated in one hit), nothing.
The main problem is when they're fighting their powers don't seem any different than a regular Super Saiyan. Their bodies should be exploding and the whole universe and worlds around them should be shaking but they don't.

Re: What is "Godly" about Goku/Vegeta?
To be perfectly frank there isn't really that much godly about anyone with that title outside of the title itself and the duties associated with it. Kami, the first God in the series that we see, pretty much does nothing but stand at the edge of his lookout stressing himself to death, and guys like Kaio and Kaioshin seem pretty helpless against the foes the heroes face. For example, while Namek isn't in his jurisdiction, Kaio seemed woefully unable to do anything about Frieza. How are they supposed to enforce peace in the universe if they can't even do anything??
With that in mind, saying that Goku and Vegeta are godly can be interpreted to imply that they are reaching the top of the "power rankings" among the denizens of their universe and could be seen as if as gods, particularly with what's been going on in the last two Z movies and Super.

The ki that they possess when their hair turns blue.
We actually got a scenario in the Battle Of Gods with SSJG Goku and Beerus fist clashing and creating shock wave which would have reduced the universe to a null void if Beerus didn't cancel out Goku's energy.precita wrote:The main problem is when they're fighting their powers don't seem any different than a regular Super Saiyan. They both keep breaking limits and challenging the limits of possibility.
This is balanced though by their very human vices of laziness (Goku) and pride (Vegeta).

It's almost as if being a god is about more than just power levels.

Laziness? Kid Goku used to wake up at 6 am to break some stones and go hunting. Goku was never lazy. DBS' Goku is just a jerk.DragonBallFoodie wrote:They both keep breaking limits and challenging the limits of possibility.

Sorry for bad english. I'm not fluent in your language, so, if you want to correct some mistake of mine, please do it. I'll be grateful

How is Goku lazy? Are you talking about how he's not interested in earning money to buy things he doesn't want?DragonBallFoodie wrote:They both keep breaking limits and challenging the limits of possibility.

I see what you're going for, but I think there is a better word to describe Goku's flaws than laziness. And Vegeta has gotten over his pride.DragonBallFoodie wrote:They both keep breaking limits and challenging the limits of possibility.

inconsistent and awful writing
Re: What is "Godly" about Goku/Vegeta?
Gokuh and Vegeta are gods in their god forms. Whis says during the God of Destruction Beerus Arc that Gokuh in his Super Saiyan God form is a god, but not the same as Kaiohshin and Beerus.

Re: What is "Godly" about Goku/Vegeta?
Most religious texts are inconsistent and awfully written. Which implies that, should that deity exist, they have little to no understanding of proper writing, story structure or cannon. So Goku and Vegeta not being masters of the literary arts is actually solid proof they are divine.jplaya2023 wrote:inconsistent and awful writing
