::sigh:: I had hoped it wouldn't come to this... Guess I should get it over with. Please read this carefully, and you'll understand my points.
Other than to have some fun revising what was overall a suckily handled concept and story, one of my goals in this FanFiction is to exercise and show some of my own ideas/conclusions regarding DragonBall, rather than turn them into heated debates on here. And possibly the most prominent among them is thus:
--- For warriors or any other character, from the moment they're born, to the moment they die,
there is always room for improvement, no matter
what level you've acheived, or
what powerup you've received, or
who you're a reincarnation of.
---
One'
s "full potential" is
infinite, and time is the only true barrier to how much of it one ends up with access to. I don't believe in unbreakable ceilings, no matter what the circumstances. I've never seen any definite limit be reached, in which a character, other than those
designed with a set power (
i.e. Androids, and possibly the Buus), has acheived an
absolute maximum of power, and never been able to improve beyond it.
So, that considered, within the world of my story...

Uub is Kid Buu. Kid Buu plus Mr. Buu equals Super Gotenks Buu?
Uub =
A human, with Kid Buu's power.
Note the "human" aspect. Uub is definitely
not "the same" as Kid Buu, in that he'
s human, and he'
s kind-hearted. As a reincarnation, he was born with Kid Buu'
s power(
s) available to him, but that'
s about the only similarity I ever saw, besides the name. The Buus probably can't improve themselves by training, but
humans definitely can. I don't see why Uub wouldn't be able to become stronger just like any other human. It'
s not that hard to believe that Uub would improve beyond what he had by default, especially with a teacher like Goku. So in my fanfiction, Uub, by training with Goku for
10 years, has not only brought out the strength of Kid Buu that was dormant within him, but
surpassed it. Because of being Kid Buu'
s reincarnation, he has much more power to begin with, and grows at a faster rate than a normal human. He ends up, at the start of my fanfiction, much stronger than Kid Buu was. Probably around Super Buu'
s power, maybe more. (
If you've read the first chapter I put up, then he and Goku obviously held back and/or evened themselves out either way for their tournament match, and Goku won because of his superior skill and experience) After merging with Buu, he'
s extremely powerful. The only heroes more powerful than him after that are Goku, Vegeta, and Gogeta at Super Saiyan 4, only because I've upped the "special-ness" of that stage, too.
Speaking of being special...
- Gohan'
s mystic powerup brought out his hidden power, yes. But as far as I can tell, it wasn't this gynourmous thing everyone makes it out to be. Again, I return to the "Unbreakable Ceiling" concept. "Bringing out one'
s hidden potential" doesn't have to mean "unlock all the power one will ever be capable of having if he trained (
Super Saiyan stages and all aside, I think training creates strength and capabilities, rather than "accesses" them) nonstop for years thereafter." It doesn't make any sense to me. If that'
s what it meant, then if Mystic Gohan'
s power level is his "potential" realized, then on Namek, Gohan should have been able to squash Freeza like an ant after having his "potential" brought out by Saichoro. But he didn't. Recoome beat him up easily not long after. Same thing with Buu. He got his "potential" released by Old Kaio, and it was one hell of a powerup, sure, allowing him to smack Super Buu around, but it obviously wasn't this omnipotent "
universal pwnage factor" it'
s constantly made out to be. Hence his eventual defeat by Super Gotenks Buu. In fact, in my interpretation within this fiction, Old Kaio'
s powerup was more similiar to Saichoro'
s than anything else, bringing out his
"immediate potential" then and there, but also organizing it into one, big, stage-less mass, hence the missing SSj/SSj2, and allowing him to channel his power more efficiently and effectively.
All that considered, it comes down to what I said happened. Gohan'
s power has degraded a bit in the 20 years since Buu, since he hasn't trained much at all. Uub has trained himself
beyond the power he had to begin with, by default, but still not quite to what Gohan had and still has. However, Uub'
s already massive power is
nearly doubled when he merges with Buu, making him more than a match for Gohan, but ultimately not enough to beat Babi.
::Phew::
That'
s kinda out of character for me... I don't usually make "debate rants" like that.
Anyway... there'
s my stance on that, and I hope I made some sense. If you want to discuss it, then please do... but somewhere else. PM me about it if you wish. But this isn't what this thread is about.
So please, let'
s just mark my FanFic and anything I say about it as "artistic license," and get back to the FanWorks, okay?
I'll put up more FanArt soon, promise.
EDIT: Re-worded and added a thing or two. I was in a rush earlier. Spent about a alf hour on the edit, so sorry if I missed any replies...
