Unless i'm reading this wrong, it also says in the scan that "training mode" is also available for download(for the JPN version for now, atleast)

so online+training mode. Good news overall

An additional training mode as well as the option to do fights online sounds great to me, here's hoping we get that update in the near future as well.

So, I'm playing through the story modes at the moment (on Goku's 'what if' one, yet to run into anything 'what if'-y on it though...), and I've got to say, there's something kind of funny about seeing the accurate 'over 8,000' line immediately followed by a 'Kaio what?!' moment that I can only assume is a tip of the hat to TFS.

Do you guys think we could see a competitive scene develop for this game? I play Smash competitively and I'd love to play a DBZ game competitively as well. The inclusion of Online mode and Training mode would probably help a lot as well.

While fiddling with the Title Screen, I managed to unlock SSJ4 Gogeta in my copy. The code is Up, Left, Down, Right, B, A, X, Y, Up, Left, Down, Right, Up, B, A, X, Y, Left, Down, Right, B, A, X, Y. This is for EU/AUS versions by the way. I also unlocked Mighty Mask, but I can't remember the exact input. I'll keep testing(as the title screen still brings up the audio cue when you get an old code right) till I find it again.

Edit: Kay, Mighty Mask seems to be Y, B, A, Y, B, X, A, Y, B, A, Y, B, X, A, B, A, B, A.

Followed that same code for my US copy and it unlocked SSJ4 Gogeta. But it did it before I even finished the code. Not exactly sure which input, but following that code got it for me midway through.

Though the S ranks are very picky to get, developing a team/strategy that can get S-rank is super satisfying. I've got a team and its not a strategy I pulled from YouTube. I'd recommend trying things before resorting to that x)
And overall this game is really fantastic to play :p

A Supersonic Warriors 2 remix?
Any other remixes found in this game? Seems a bit odd to just have one remix. Not that I'm complaining, SSW2 has one of the lesser appreciated soundtracks of the series.
Kishi really has come into his own with this game. He's had some good tracks previously, but this entire soundtrack is a clear step-up for him.
EDIT: Should have linked to what it's actually a remix of. D'oh!
EDIT 2: Holy smokes, I also found Karin's stage theme from SSW2.Sorry if this has been discussed already, but hot damn, I'm genuinely rather excited to be finding consistent themes in Dragon Ball games again!

Man I wish SSW2's Ost saw an Re-arranged CD release ala the Super Butouden games, I really want some clean (read: not using the DS soundchip) versions of these songs. I also think EB's soundtrack is pure awesome, Toshiyuki Kishi just went ham on it, the ArcSys style rock ballad tracks, the more eletronic stuff akin to some of his Raging Blast 1 work and these remixes from SSW2, I could listen to it everyday.

So, are the codes on a few pictures on Dragon Ball Z - Games not for the US version? Cuz I've been trying all of them, and they don't seem to work.

So... has everyone who ordered from Amazon US already gotten their copy?

I've still got "preparing for shipment," although they did send me my DLC and Super Butōden 2 codes yesterday. Kind of irksome, honestly. This is why I never pre-order things. If it weren't for Super Butōden 2, I'd have just walked into a store on release day like I always do and bought it then (without having to pay shipping).

Sure would be nice to have a copy of my own...

Just so this post isn't 100% complaining, I am very thankful to those of you who have been keeping us updated on codes. Much appreciated!

So my boy* Shotgunryu on miiverse posted codes to characters in the US version.

Here they are. I tested them, they work.

Great Ape: Up/X/Down/Y/L/R/L/R/L/R/Up/X/Down/Y/Down/X/Up
Naturon Shenron: R/Y/X/A/B (multiple times
Yamu: Y/Y/X/Right/R/Y/X/A/Down/Up/B/Left/Y/Right/X
Spopovich: Down/Y/X/Right/R/Y/X/Up/Y/X/A/Right/B/A/Left/X/B/Y/X
Gine: Right/A/X/Y/B (multiple times)
Pan: Left/A/Right/Right/A/Left/Down/A/A/Down/X/X/Up/B/B
Yakon: Right, Down, Left, A, B, Y, Right, Down, Left, A ,B, Y, Right, Down, Left, B, A
SSJ4 Goku: Down, Up, Right, Left, Down, Up, X, B, Y, A, Up, Down, Left, Right, Down, Up, Right, Left, A, X. Repeat code again and he gets unlocked.

Sorry for the slashes. I was copying them from the post. I started to replace the slashes with commas, but I only got to Yakons. Didn't feel like doing it.

*Shotgunryu is not actually my boy.

So while trying to enter this code and it not working, I unlocked Might Mask. So, I guess that's cool.

That's so weird. That code is supposed to be the Japanese code for Mighty Mask, but when I punched it in I got Eis. Maybe it was extending off of some prior buttons that I hit without my knowing?

Hmm. I'll leave it up for a bit longer and if it doesn't work for others, I'll delete that post.

I entered it a billion times. I think if you press Y a few extra times after A that gets Might Mask? Not sure.

Yes. There was not save data on the Super Famicom cartridge. It's a simple code to remember, so you'll be fine :).

So I finally finished all of the Story Mode stuff - argh, what a slow burn. For a collection of 'what if' storylines, it was pretty half-assed - pretty much just take whatever character they're wanting to use at that moment, have them fight the next character in line that kind of makes sense for them to fight moving forward, and rinse/repeat. The worst part is though that they don't even really take things that differently. For example, in Kuririn's story, you still have the moment where you attack Cell after he absorbs Android 18. You win the fight...Cell just is stunned that you were able to hurt him somewhat, but chalks it up to him being freshly transformed, then tells you about the Cell Games. Cue a text box telling the events of Gohan and Goku's combined efforts to defeat Cell, and Goku's death. ...Kay? That's exactly what really happened in the series. If you're gonna do a what if based on a particular character, let that particular character be the star, power levels be damned, it's a video game! Argh!

Even the villain story mode, though definitely a step up from the others, was a bit lackluster since it's more or less the same thing we've had before in...Budokai Tenkaichi 2, I think it was? At any rate, it's a little more interesting, but definitely still not extremely memorable.

I've now moved on to Adventure mode though, which is definitely a lot better so far. That said though...how in the HFIL do you get an S rank in these missions to unlock stuff? I've been doing the stuff it says to do in the mission info (like 'Win after using three Blast Combos'), I've been finishing with Ultimates, I've been finishing fast, I've even finished a few times with no damage...A rank at best. It's driving me nuts.

Oh, and for what it's worth, I wasn't able to get Eis Shenron to unlock with your code either, Gozar. I think that may have been how I got Mighty Mask, though.

Apart from the mission requirements that you have to complete, you'll need to have earned a score of over 400 points as well.

This can usually be accomplished by pulling off all of those feats you've mentioned at the same time, as well as some additional things like having a high Rush count, and using supers and assists a lot. At first, you won't have a whole lot of stuff in your bag of tricks, so you'll have to try a bit harder and really mix things up during those early matches. Later on, you'll be able to buy some equipment in the Item Shop that can be very helpful and ensure more Perfects and higher scores, such as the Regeneration and Energy Sponge accessories.

Once you have more useful items and support characters, you'll probably be able to formulate your own strategy to get through most of these very quickly, such as the method I mentioned before where you can open with an Assist that acts as a good wall(such as Meta Cooler, Android 8, or Tao), charge up your energy, and unleash a powerful ultimate early on. Obviously, one of the high DP characters is preferable, such as SSGSS Goku.

Certain fights later down the line have more tricky missions to accomplish, so you'll have to change things up every now and then for some of them.

Thanks for posting Captain Sora, that way I don't have to double post for these. Ohh, so it's completely tied to the score you get. Guess I'll have to spend some zeni on items and start using assists and see what I can get to work.

I was finding enough codes that seemed to work for me that I'm not sure were posted here and/or worked for me where posted ones didn't (most of them have though, so by all means, keep it up guys!), that I felt like it merited them being their own post rather than being at the end of my previous one.

Some codes entries will look a little different as I'm lifting them from various sources, and I'm just copying/pasting rather than re-typing, to hopefully avoid making a mistake. So yeah, none of these did I find myself. I just Googled. :P

Eis Shenron
Left, L, R, Right, Up, X, B, Down, Y, A, Y, A

Haze Shenron
Up, A, Right, B, Down, Y, Left ,X, R, L, R, L

Golden Frieza
Up, Down, Left, Right, Down, Up, Right, Left, A, B, A, B, L

Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Vegeta
XAB↓→↑ YAR↓→↑ →AR

Oceanus Shenron
Up, A, Up, B, Up, Y, Up, X, L, R, L, R, L, R, Up, A, Up, B, Up, Y, Up, X, L, R, L, R, L, R

Super Saiyan Gogeta
L, R, Up, Down, Y, X, Left, Right, A, Up, A, Right, B, Down, Y, Left, X, Up, A, Right, B

Flying Nimbus
Left, Down, Right, Y, B, A, Up, X, Up, A, Up, B, Up Y, L, R, Up, X

If I end up finding any more that work, I'll be sure to post them up.

Edit: Finally got an S rank on the first mission! I had to use Raditz to finally achieve it though. It was a tough fight, I almost lost, but as a result the match actually lasted long enough for me to use my assists a lot more, I got in two of my Ultimates (the ones that require 200%), and well more than 3 Blast Combos.

I think, much as I don't want to, it might be more effective if I work my way all the way through this mode, and then backtrack to the missions I need to S Rank to get stuff. By then I'll hopefully have enough zeni to get better items as well.
