If Harmony Gold was more, names still around?

That's because it's used quite frequently (always?) in video games, or at least it used to be. Otherwise, yes, it would be a TV-only thing.

You're missing my point. The question is, would fans of the show in America stick with the inaccurate character names that HG promoted if they continued with their dub? The answer is yes, because American fans do stick with the inaccurate names from the dub that we did get. The question implies that FUNi never dubs the show because HG does.
