Ok that makes more sense but I still don't like how everything is so screwy between versions. Depending on what you read/watched you have a completely different interpretation of things.
EH not really. The main plot details would be the same
"Vegeta fights Black. He's seemingly winning. Black unveils a new form. Starts stomping with Zamasu's help. Heroes use a technique to gain some hope. OH NO WE MUST FUSE. OK WE WILL FUSE TOO. NO SCREW YOU GUYS, THIS IS MY ARC AND I'LL FINISH THIS

How is that a bad thing?
The differences are what makes having Toyotaro's interpretation be worth it.
Okay leaving the power level debate to one side now..
Anyone else intrigued by the back and forth between the fight in Trunks' timeline and the Zamasu confrontation in the main timeline?
Kaioshin of U7 is shown with a time ring for some reason.. perhaps he went into Trunks' future to confirm it was Zamasu??
It really seems like there is something fishy going on that directly relates to Zamasu showing up and healing Black(Kaioshin still talks worriedly about something after Beerus kills Zamasu).
Perhaps this is what was meant with Beerus killing Zamasu and creating another timeline, where he didn't die and this Zamasu is the one who healed Black???
Damn this is why I wish I just knew Japanese!

I don't think much stock should be put on that statement, he completely changed BoG, Toriyama made a big deal about ending the fight in regular SS. To him what maybe deemed important could be different to someone else. Ie Goku dropping out of SSG.

Never thought about that. Good theory. But Black looked he was intending to kill Vegeta from the get-go. I mean, if he wasn't, wouldn't have transformed in the first place. He looked visibly pissed at how much SSJ2 Vegeta was kicking his ass, so he was obviously trying hard.

Meh Goku is just that weak SSJ2 Vegeta>SSJ Black>Base Black>Trunks SSJ2=Goku SSJ3, Trunks was lucky it was Goku that tested him out, if it was Vegeta freaking base Vegeta would have 1H.K.O.
How can that make any kind of sense?

SS2 Vegeta beating SS2 Black seems too much, mostly because base Black beated a high level SS2 Trunks. It would have made more sense if Vegeta went to the blue form from the begining. Obviously, SSB Vegeta crushes Black, that is fine.
We still have to wait to see if he is going to use the SSR or the fusion next. I'm not very fan of the rose, even if it comes from Toriyama, so I'd prefer if they fuse.
Hope we get a translation soon, many things need further explanations.
looking at some of the scans and forthe 1sttime toto messed up ssj2 hair. Black's ssj2 hair looks like ssj1, and also vegeta's ssj2 hair is wrong, it's supposed to split on his widows peak and the hair is a tad bit shorter for his ssj2 as well
buutenks wrote:Quite an odd inconsistency, especially since it would have easily been avoided had Vegeta beat Black as a ssj blue from the get go.
That's the most frustrating thing about all of this. This could have been so easily avoided. Just don't have SSJ2 Vegeta fight Black at all and power scaling remains fine and workable. But, no. Toyataro just had to have to Vegeta retain the image of "Wrecker Of Your Shit". This chapter has single-handedly fucked up everything.

I like the direction Toriyama has the anime and manga going.
Also, people are getting ahead of themselves again. Just cause Black went SSJ here does not automatically mean he still can't go Rose.
Wow, how many people always jump the gun and incorrectly say things like kai and gods of destruction being a set is "lulz anime only" or vice versa.
Wait.

Toriyama giving Toyataro carte blanche in regards to the plot of the manga certainly didn't help either.
Did you see the outline. If you have, can I see your copy?
Mate, let's stop pretending Toriyama is kinda of God immune to criticism. He's the author and we'll be always grateful for his work in the past, but it's not that hard to think that maybe the problems with manga/anime are his fault.

He's surprised because its been a long time since he saw Black go SSJ, he fought him in SSJ before but eventually gotten stronger to the point of not needing it against him anymore, which is hell a weird because Trunks SSJ2=Goku SSJ3.
What is more weird is that Vegeta was impressed with SSJ2 Trunks being greater than SSJ3 Goku, thus indicating that he probably couldn't do the same, but yet he does.

Yes, Toyotaro is a jackass, he doesn't fit for this job, I wish he could be replaced for someone more skilled.
Are we too old to enjoy new Dragon Ball movies/series?

Guys, I'm going to be straight with you. If you feel the show has gotten 'silly' ... it hasn't. You're just 'too old for this shit'. Seriously, 95% of the people in those boards do not fit the target demographic of the show, so don't expect the show to be 'everything you hoped for'. I'm referring to the people here who expect Super to be rich with dark moments, serious storytelling, meaningful characters etc etc. It won't. It's a show for kids. A show for kids being kids. Everyone in those boards has a manchild in him/her, clamoring to get out, and that's fine. But having unrealistic expectations (such as believing the show grew up alongside you) is naïve at best. Honestly, do you take seriously a story where the supposed God of Destruction halts his urges to blow up stuff in order to eat ice cream sundae? That's the show's silliness at full force, take it for what it is. The show hasn't matured one bit, so don't expect it too. Again, I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I'm saying *that* is DB and always will be.

Your words fall on deaf ears, the original creator is always right/the best, unless it's inconvenient like every superhero ever or Star Wars.

Toyotaro would make a good editor I think but he's not a good writer, his work on this arc so far has really shown that he cannot engage the audience on any level whatsoever.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.
How the Black Arc Should End (by Lightbing!):
Spoiler:
Absolute Zamasu(my name for their fusion) wins. He fulfils his utopia and dwells in his loneliness(x amount of time for this to happen). He starts to doubt of his achievements, Goku's body influences him to seek out challenges but there's nothing. Perfection becomes a curse. Absolute Zamasu starts to dread his existence and presents himself to the Omni-King, detailing on his actions.
Using his powers the Omni-King restores everything to the moment before Goku and Vegeta perish, humanity's last barrier. Zamasu concedes. He ask for forgiveness(mainly to Goku, Gowasu and Trunks) and understands that his justice isn't justice at all. He asks for judgement and the Omni-King delivers.
Trunks is forced never to travel in time ever again, all the time-machines are destroyed.

Toriyama chose Toyotaro who he believes mimics his art style the best.
So why is he incompetent? When he follows what Toriyama gives him.

I was referring to Toyotaro: his work is completely hollow, there's nothing there to grab your attention and keep you reading. Even the art isn't that great when you see what some other guys are doing in the doujinshi circles Toyotaro started out from.

You would think we would be past this considering Toriyama was responsible for the abomination known as ROF.
