Wow, both DBZ Abridged and DB Dissection at same day? Last time it happened at Vegeta vs 19 episode, if i remmeber correctly?

The first part was pretty boring and unfunny compared to usual. There were some highlights though : the yes daddy turning out to actually be his name and the "that's what you thought it was" made for a pretty good combo, Broly was done well, and it's not insaiyan was pretty clever too. When Goku was asking if new vegeta was strong I was hoping he'd add a "God, i hope so" and when he learnt that new vegeta was a planet I was hoping he'd say "so I'm stuck with the old Vegeta?" and everyone else would have said "unfortunately" or something like that. Upon further thinking, I guess it was solely Goku was being more boring than usual during this part.

Well, that was good. Liked that King Kai mentioned Beerus, that animated piece of Yajirobe and Korin as well done. I think Paragus should get another voice, I know General Ivan is a great voice actor, but his Paragus is not much different from Coola and Dr. Gero.

Loved Cell appearance on this! Most of edits were well done, but that one with Tao was not much. Don't know if I appreciate the usage of Super soundtrack in the parody, as "Beerus Madness" shouldn't be used for Broly IMO

Man this was a lot of fun. Can't wait for part 2!

Overall, after finishing watching the long-awaited Broly episode...I can't say I particularly enjoyed the humor? To be fair, I always felt that the more recent TFS episodes really excelled in making those quick quip moments funny and this episode was no different.....But whenever it came to the moments with the actual punchlines, man, I could never get behind those. The worst offender was the alien race getting whipped and clearly getting a kick out of it, I didn't hate it because it was "too creepy" or "too taboo", but it was such an easy joke to make in that situation. Haha, whips, that's a form of sexual enjoyment---Alright, that's neat, but it's nothing I haven't seen before and nothing that I found particularly funny before. But that's no fault of the TFS team, there's a taste everyone has and clearly the Broly video wasn't a dish I enjoyed. Maybe Part 2 will be my cup of tea, who knows?

As for story, I really felt that in making the direction of the video, the team decided to cut out all the ridiculous writing and story choices the original had. The issue with that is now everything felt incomplete and almost incomprehensible. Not that I couldn't follow it, but moreso that things were moving at an exaggerated pace and there were stretches made. I guess that's just a by-product of being used to the original, but I can't help but wonder why not leave the stupidity and the bad character writing in if only to make fun of it? A lot of narrative jumping as well, we bounced around from the wedding to Gohan's admission area to Kaio's planet many times over so nothing ever felt concrete. I guess I'm being overly-pessimistic, but that's a bother since I don't tend to be. I'm not saying I hated it, the quick character writing tends to be entertaining, but like I said this just wasn't my cup of tea. Not dissing the work of Kaiser or anyone else, they work amazingly hard but I don't like to follow blindly and I'll openly admit when I have moments I don't enjoy the show as much as I should.

I am so glad Markiplier was not Broly. I would have hated to have to hear that. So I'm glad that didn't happen and we have Weekly Tube Show voice him. WTS is a good choice.

Me too! That was probably the joke that got the most out of me. And also love the sequence "Vegeta? Me, my son or the planet?"/"Yes." so much. It never get's old. The 1st part was very nice and I particulary liked the detail about "kakarot" being the trigger word for Broly.

I thought it was pretty funny...though Broly just has a funny voice and that's about it. Disappointing. I did like the power level joke though. Hopefully part 2 does more with him.

Making Broly a representation of his fanbase was pure brilliance! I wanna know who came up with that idea. He constantly cares about power levels and whines that his power level is pretty big. Can't wait to see triggered Broly.

I think this is my favourite Goku I've seen you guys do. Even line or scene of his was great, Cell and Taopaipai especially. Kaiser seemed great as Trunks too, as did Lani as Vegeta. And thank Kami for skipping the boring SSj Broly fight. It ruins the films pace that after that they still don't figure out Broly is the villain.

This'll be an interesting one for me.

My feelings on the first Broly movie are actually opposite to what the guys said about it last DBCember. To me, the plot - the backstory of Paragus and King Vegeta, the father's struggle to control his son's mind and power, the efforts to take revenge on Vegeta, the whole idea of there being a legendary Super Saiyan beyond the standard transformation, and even the source of Broly's rage toward Goku - that's the best part of the movie, and where any real value to Broly as a character rather than a plot device lies. Silly as it is in execution, the basic idea behind Broly's animosity - that for all his power even at that age, a much weaker saiyan could hurt him through a simple act - is a solid concept IMO. It's the big fight that drags on too long and fails to hold interest for me. (Honestly, my feelings on the other two Broly films aren't that dissimilar; the stuff pre-Broly is fun and interesting, and it all goes downhill the second he shows up to fight.)

Part 1 was fun. Good stuff with the Kais, great casting for Paragus, I liked Goku's efforts at investigating, and nice cliffhanger. But unless they make more use of the flashbacks in Part 2 and avoid having everything be gags thrown over that long, long fight, I am worried this'll be a bit of an unbalanced effort. Reserving final opinion 'til we get the whole thing though.
