I went on reddit and I barely saw any negative comment on toppo design.
Also again as you mentioned YouTube is not best place to judge opinions on.

I don't see why YouTube wouldn't be a good place to judge opinions on in this situation though, as compared to something like the /r/dbz subreddit. Most people in the /r/dbz subreddit aren't casual fans who just want power levels and Disturbed music playing in the background, and neither are the people watching Geekdom's videos, so why should comments from one website be more valid than another if we're talking about people who have (somewhat) of an informed grasp on the fandom on each website?

Also, how hard did you look? I've been seeing these opinions trickle in for the past 2 weeks, or however many weeks it's been since Toppo's design was spoiled, in random threads here and there. I don't think you'd really be able to get a full grasp on the opinion of his character design just by looking for reddit topics for a few minutes made today.

Am I the minority here in saying that I really like everything about Toppo's character? He's a big ass muscular burly dude with a giant beard. Literally what is not to love? I think he's awesome and can't wait to see how he fights with such an unusually proportioned body in the next episode.

Well there is a problem with some fans in the fanbase to where if you don't have a "badass" design then you're going to get hate. I personally have no problem with Toppo's design but I do prefer Jiren's. Toppo's big arms though are a great selling point for the character.

To, Ki Breaker. Do you really agree? It seems like your main problem is that he's too much of family man now rather than caring about whether or not his character is progressing.

Like I said, that is the only attribute of him which is visible and sticks out now, I can't say for others but he is incredibly mellowed out and almost like an old man who has life experiences to talk about, just he is a little grumpy..

What made Vegeta interesting to watch in the first place was his reckless nature, his one liners, his monologues were pretty funny as well..
Take that away and you get a boring to watch character..

It might be very good thing in universe but at the end of the day, this is a show, I cannot care less what happens to a painted figure in the pages and his painted family.. if the character dosen't entertain..
This might be because Vegeta was never my favourites, he was just entertainment

Manga Vegeta seems better in those aspects, his emotions his dialogues all fit the bill for an entertaining character

Yeah i saw it too, toppo is being called a fatass and hated upon for some reason.. the reason which i mainly encountered is jiren, people want him not toppo..

But Toppo's Design is really good, it's been long since I encountered something with that kind of design

I cant speak for everyone but within the anime forums that I've been in, yes, the main rival should look badass take Toguro/Meruem/Madara/majority of Bleach enemies/10 commandments/Acnologia/Utsuro etc. I can go on, they look badass in their own regard (tho it still depends on the individual's perspective on what a badass looking enemy looks like) while Toppo and Jiren doesnt exactly fit that category, Jiren maybe for some, but Toppo is just nope, he looks like a mid boss enemy or a mob even, then again the only badass antagonist that DB ever had (at least for me) in terms of designs was Cell.

Boo's a weird ass pink blob, either it was fat boo or kid boo, his design wasnt badass for me, he was actually lovable despite being destructive, I never got the sense of kid boo being an evil character, not like Freeza was anyways.

Imperfect Cell was the only badass design of Cell imo. After that not only his character, but his design becomes more boring to me.

I liked Perfect Cell's design a lot, he looked badass, one of the reasons why Togashi's chimera ant arc main antagonist Meruem looked almost identical to him.

Makes sense with the the Pride Troopers being in his Universe. Also U11 angel probably acts nothing like Harley Quinn because pigtails are a commin hairstyle in anime.

So I guess Universe 11 is this really great place where Justice prevails. That or a really strict place where people are ruled by it. Either way I think this is the Universe I'm most interested in.

If universe 11 is all about justice i guess this confirms that the mortal level has nothing to do with morality. Maybe this is why they are lower down the ranks in mortal level, It's because they kill civilisation they find evil even if they are an advanced civilisation.
Mortal level may have nothing to do with how advanced civilisations are either though because universe 3 is all about smart people and technology, It maybe has to be a balance between everything, who knows.

Universe 1 looks really good as well, I am fine with 12th but 8th looks very odd
