Whoops. Didn't really think about how my post could be considered "mini-modding".

Anyway, I haven't bought Part 1 on Blu-ray yet, but I've heard that the logo on the slipcover is foil/shiny, like on a rare trading card. Can anyone who owns the set confirm or deny this?

Don't own it but I've seen it on shelves on FYE; the entire slipcover is metallic, not unlike the Kai slipcovers

Yeah that is correct, they also have actual proper disc art which is a rarity for a FUNimation release in and of itself! They really did it give it a "super" treatment... Also incentive to get the parts and not wait for the inevitable season collection. Kai 1.0 had some pretty cool slipcover action too.

Damn! I wasn't in any rush to grab these first two parts, although I knew I'd get them eventually, but that certainly sounds like a nice set. I might have to grab these sooner than I planned.

Same, I think I will grab both when Part 2 comes out. The only negative is the reverse cover is the same, would have liked Beerus (since he is on the disc art).

Hey guys! Remember 3 months ago when I talked about who should voice Caulifla, and I said my ideal voice would be Jamie Marchi? Yeah, I changed my mind. When I did change my mind, I couldn't really think of who should voice her in the English dub. But then, it popped me. The one true woman that should (in my opinion) voice Caulifla. And I don't know if she voices anime characters or not, but, still. My new ideal voice for Caulifla is... Tara Strong. You guys know her. I feel that she would be a great choice for Caulifla. All she has to do is use some tough chick that sounds a little bit like her Ben 10 voice, but not too much, it would need to sound more girl like. If that actually happens, I'd be really down for that. So what do you guys think, would you like that as well, or do you have someone else in mind?

I'm not a dub guy, but if you ask me, Elizabeth Daily would be the perfect Caulifla. Her Buttercup voice with a bit of an accent and you got the perfect Saiyan girl.

Tara would be great but I doubt that it would actually happen. Luci's voice is very close to the Japanese VA's voice so I think that she would work well

There's one line from both the Battle of Gods movie & arc in the English dub I just don't get. When Whis talks to Beerus at one point early on, he mentions a "Pop star." What the hell is he referring to? Is it an actual translation of the Japanese line, or are they actually referring to something else?

If I remember correctly it's just a joke referring to the fact the Whis's Japanese voice actor is a pop star. Not really a joke that translates well over here in the west since I don't think Ian Sinclair is a pop star.

That could be it as well. But Whis's voice actor is a singer. (Which I think is also the joke for Whis being a bad singer, but don't quote me on that.)

Though I can't seem to find the source that says that the "pop idol thing" was a reference to the voice actor. So sorry I can't give any concrete proof.
