Super Sonic wrote:It's not so much of a "proper cast", and I like the Funi cast, but I think this would be interesting:
Goku- LeVar Burton
Gohan- Wil Wheaton
Bulma- Marina Sirtis
Piccolo- Michael Dorn
Chi-Chi- Denise Crosby
Krillin/Dr. Gero- Brent Spiner
Cell- Jonathan Frakes
Baba- Gates McFadden
King Kai/Narrator- Patrick Stewart
All are good actors, though some might laugh at this a little when they realize something in common.
Dorn would be a great voice for Piccolo. Wheaton could fit Gohan, but Sirtis would probably fit someone like Princess Snake more.
Spiner could work as Dr. Wheelo.

Not sure if it's already been discussed already in this thread, but are there any ideas for what an English Goku with a hick/hillbilly accent would sound like? I imagine it would go over like a lead balloon with most fans but I'd be on board with it if done right.

I honestly just can't picture it. I've tried, but it's just impossible to even imagine for me. I'd be willing to have it happen though and give it a good chance

I think they would sound awkward with their accents.

I for one, wouldn't mind if Richard Ian Cox's Goku had the hick accent.

In the Japanese cast, I think only Ryō Horikawa knows English.
I prefer Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, DB/Z/GT Movies, Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball GT in Japanese.
For DBZ Kai and two new Movies I like both Dub and Sub. I Prefer Shunsuke Kikuchi Soundtracks over All other Composers.

So when we say "hick accent" can you give an example? Are we talking like Larry the Cable Guy, or...? Because I feel like Japanese hick sounds way different than an English hick and wouldn't necessarily fit

I don't really think he should have an accent in English per say, but using simple speech, avoiding big words when you could use smaller words, as well as using aint, watcha, gonna and fightin would be the best way to get the "hickness' part of the character across.

If I recall, Nakao can also speak English. Or maybe I'm mistaken, I don't know.

I saw a video of her at a panel with Schemmel from not too long ago and she didn't speak any English the whole time. She had a translator

We've seen it with Peter Kelemis' Goku.

No. He uses a translator too.

It's interesting to know he voiced Yakko Warner. Makes "Nations of The World" song even funnier because if you listen the song with your eyes shut, you will think Freeza is naming the countries he'll destroy

Eh maybe...he sounds more like a Canadian surfer to me.

Oh, oh I know! A bunch of them were voices in the 90's cartoon Gargoyles!
It would be interesting to hear some of them in DB roles.
