While Gohan going to Roahi and Korin makes sense I wonder why no one suggested Popo who didn't suggest the time chamber.

Goku was the one who originally suggested it in the first place and he died before hand.miguelnuva1 wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 3:23 pm While Gohan going to Roahi and Korin makes sense I wonder why no one suggested Popo who didn't suggest the time chamber.

Goku thought about it yesterday but Popo also knew about the room. Gohan had to meet Korin because he has sensu beans so it was just a small nag since Multiverse says Gohan sought out Goku's old teachers.Hellspawn28 wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2024 12:24 pmGoku was the one who originally suggested it in the first place and he died before hand.miguelnuva1 wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 3:23 pm While Gohan going to Roahi and Korin makes sense I wonder why no one suggested Popo who didn't suggest the time chamber.
The Android future is hard to write for anyone because Toriyama had to scale the heroes a certain way but it doesn't line up with what we see main Gohan do so I won't nitpick it but Gohan's potential should have kicked in.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
So the Android Saga seems to me to be inspired by the first Terminator movie. Future destroyed by powerful robots, a few survivors attempting to fight them off, then sending someone back in time. Trunks is Kyle Reese, which should mean that Gohan is John Conner. But wait. Trunks seems to think that Goku will save them, so he's their John Conner? Toriyama didn't just rip off Terminator's story completely, of course. There are parallels, but he didn't copy/paste. The problem is if Gohan is the savior because of his hidden potential...why didn't his future counterpart find the same power to defeat the androids? It's not completely unexplainable, but it's a bit of a plot hole.miguelnuva1 wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2024 3:30 pmGoku thought about it yesterday but Popo also knew about the room. It becomes even more silly with the context of future stories. Goten, present timeline Trunks, Cabba, even freaking Bardock, and others all achieving the power of Super Saiyan and beyond with little to no effort. It's like...what's Future Gohan's excuse? His hidden potential was supposed to be what allowed him to go Super Saiyan 2 in the first place, but that hidden potential ain't all it's cracked up to be.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Training solo isn't as effective as training with a partner. Goku wanted Gohan to be a Super Saiyan in the first place so he could be a good sparring partner.
Even if Gohan knew about the Room, in a timeline where Goku is dead he lacks the best teacher and sparring partner he could have hoped for. It's unclear how far a solo Gohan would have made it, especially if the age at which he would have tried is unspecified. We also don't know if the temple is even still around.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
One thing about some of the specials that is really a missed opportunity, is to actually show a different outcome rather than trying to maintain an established storyline that we already know the end result to. We already know that the Gohan from the future is going to inevitably be beaten to death alongside a pile of rubble, no matter what training methods or narrative they can squeeze out of this. As a result, it's kinda pointless to pad out Future Gohan's story when we already get the gist of what's going to happen. If DBM actually took full advantage of the multiverse concept, they could actually show us different stories with different outcomes than what we're used to seeing, and that would actually be a lot more interesting than spending months retelling the same stories essentially
Alas, it's something we can learn from, I suppose.

This is the single greatest idea for DBM and I'm surprised it hasn't been said more and makes perfect sense. Yes their are only 20 universes in the Budokai but why limit specials to that.theherodjl wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2024 4:11 am One thing about some of the specials that is really a missed opportunity, is to actually show a different outcome rather than trying to maintain an established storyline that we already know the end result to. What about a universe where Gohan reveals he beat Cell instead of Hercule for example would be nice to see. Specials would be less of a chore if more freedom was allowed.
