Did the dub of One Piece Episode 590 ever get released physically?
I know it's on Hulu, but I'm a physical media guy and would love to own this because it could always get taken off streaming. And considering it is also a DBZ crossover, it'd be a shame if it just stayed streaming-only.

Hey, man! Good to see you again too (or read from you again). Always nice to see Dragon Ball still have a presence on TV, as discussed on your Toonami Rewind thread. Hopefully, episode 590 gets released physically, but if not, it just proves your point about the importance and relevance of TV since episode 590 was exclusive to a TV airing (besides Hulu having it too now).Cure Dragon 255 wrote: ↑Wed May 15, 2024 11:51 pm OMG IT'S MECHA 3000! I think it got a standalone DVD in Japan, which would probably be in raw Japanese without even subs.
I know Toonami aired it last year but that was the first time it saw any sort of release in English-speaking territories as I recall it being something of a novelty at the time.

Do you have any info about international non-English broadcasts about the Dragon Ball anime or manga translations/editions? Please message me. Researching for a future book with Dragon Ball scholar Derek Padula

I'm not sure that it did. I can't find any mention of it on Avex's One Piece website nor One-Piece.com, even though the previous two Toriko x One Piece specials are listed as having DVD releases within the same time-frame as regular episodes.
I think there were issues with this particular crossover that didn't affect the previous two. IIRC at one stage Amazon Video had One Piece 492 and 542 listed as if they were normal episodes while episode 590 was missing. That's since been resolved, and all three now appear on Japanese Amazon and Netflix.

The issue, I believe, is that Amazon doesn't have Toriko.LostTimeLord wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 8:10 pmI'm not sure that it did. One Piece 492 and 542 also feature Toriko, but weren't affected. Ditto for the DVDs. Even Crunchyroll's had the first two crossovers, in full with both the Torkio and One Piece sections in their respective series pages, for years.
Re: Did the dub of One Piece Episode 590 ever get released physically?
But does Amazon have the Toriko half of those specials first two crossover specials? Because the reason why Toriko Episode #99 (the first half of the Dragon Ball Z crossover) isn't included on Amazon is that Toriko just...isn't on Amazon.LostTimeLord wrote: ↑Mon May 20, 2024 3:59 pmOne Piece 492 and 542 also feature Toriko, but weren't affected. Re: Did the dub of One Piece Episode 590 ever get released physically?
Toriko isn't on Amazon or Netflix now, and it wasn't on Amazon when I first saw One Piece 492/542. The lack of the corresponding Toriko episodes doesn't seem to be a factor at all, just as it wasn't for Adult Swim. Even the initial Japanese DVDs didn't bundle Toriko 1 and One Piece 492 on the same release.
Re: Did the dub of One Piece Episode 590 ever get released physically?
One Piece 590 and Toriko 99 have been released on AMAZON japan to a point and were illegaly shared in the web even if people don't seem to have noticed it (no logo eac3 audios) so they were legaly availlable only on streaming
i don't think i'm wrong to say but there's no legal physical release of them anywhere, i've seen a chinese bootleg dvd that you can see here
https://www.sanctuary.fr/objet/230718/
it's only a tvrip on dvd and not japanese like written in the site (cover is written in chinese)
it's probably a licence matter but it seems that every country "jump" this crossover in their physical release
