Freeza's Plan
At the end of the Granolah arc, Freeza comes in with his newfound power to put Goku and Vegeta in their place. He makes a statement that he was tired of losing to Saiyans and wanted to make sure that would never happen to him again. Considering the Saiyans he would have to keep in mind, here is what Freeza would have prepared for if we assume he was careful.
Saiyans:
The question is however, just how prepared is Freeza for the Saiyans? Does he have something up his sleeve? Here are a few possible paths:
Those were a few ideas I was having fun thinking about. What do you think could be the outcome of Freeza's planning? Does he have something up his sleeve? How far will it go?

Re: Freeza's Plan
I also thought about the Cooler idea. Considering what Iyoku is doing with the franchise, introducing beloved characters from non canon material into the main storyline, this seems like the next logical step.
But whatever plan frieza has, no doubt he's going to look dumber than ever for inevitably losing to the saiyans again.

Re: Freeza's Plan
I think Freeza's plan was to get stronger than them.

That's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see how it works out for him!
Re: Freeza's Plan
If I had to guess, it's that Frieza's plan is to be so ungodly powerful that he's unbeatable by himself (not roping his brother into it, in other words). It would be his next, last, and permanently fatal lesson: Nobody has his back. Assuming the Power Rangers-esque color squad of Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, and Broly are really being prepped for this confrontation, Frieza's going to find that dealing with all five of them simultaneously is NOT going to be a repeat of his fun time from the early Namek fight.
The only question is how long it will take for those five to realize that they don't have to fight him one-on-one. In true DB fashion, that's gonna be what takes up 90% of the fight.

To a strong man, the end justifies the means. To a stronger man, the means justify the end.

Re: Freeza's Plan
I think that Frieza is aware of the next arc's Big Bad and purposefully spared Goku and Vegeta because he knows he needs their help to tag team the Big Bad and beat.
While in the past such tactics would seem inconceivable for Frieza, the Tournament of Power more than proved that he's willing to use his enemies in order to take down stronger foes.
Also, bonus theory / tinfoil hatting time: Frieza training and earning his power instead of just being born with it makes him appreciate and respect other people who are able to reach equal levels of power. I think he may become Street Fighter IV's Sagat, in the way that that he begins to appreciate the thrill of experiencing the mettle and character of other people through combat and starts seeing them not as maggots to be squashed, but as rivals to respect and exchange blows with. We see this in the Broly movie by him not wanting to become immortal any more because 'the game would not be fun that way'. He clearly sees immortality as 'cheating' right now, which basically means he is starting to have a moral code of sorts. And if you think about it, every improvement in Frieza's personality is achieved through toil. Frieza didn't earn his first resurrection, which is why he seems to have learned almost nothing about respect and fair play. His second resurrection, however, was a humongous trial which probably made him appreciate his third chance a lot more than his second one.
There is definitely some play with the writers since the ToP to make him and the heroes not be completely hostile towards one another. Gogeta is not hostile towards him after Broly is defeated, Frieza takes the L with grace, Black Frieza spares Goku and Vegeta ... you can see that the animosity between Goku and Frieza is definitely lessened after the ToP. Whether that is because they are saving Frieza for his final death in a future arc, or because these are the first steps of him pulling a Negan remains to be seen.

Re: Freeza's Plan
This is narratively organic and a good thing. It'd be boring if we had characters being unfazed by literally the most extreme experiences they could possibly go through.Nickolaidas wrote: Sat May 31, 2025 8:00 am There is definitely some play with the writers since the ToP to make him and the heroes not be completely hostile towards one another. Freeza becoming good is a no-go, of course, but changing his dynamics with the saiyans is interesting.
