Which region is this release date for?

Japan I think. Korea's release date was set at 2008. As far as I know there's no release date for the rest of the world yet.

I thought I heard ramblings of Atari being interested in bringing it over here? Nothing official, but ramblings nonetheless...

According to Wikipedia, NTL expressed interest in releasing it to a world wide audience, but I don't think there's been anything more official than that unfortunately.

As long as it gets a console release, I'll be getting it (aleast on the PS3 or 360). I like that my consoles are region free.

Well Phil Harrison said how the company was going to start looking at Massively Multiplayer Online games. Heck, the supposedly broke Atari bought some MMO developer. But considering DragonBall Z is 50% of their profits, you'd think their upcomming approach + DBZ = Instant Success.

I think the only thing stopping them is seeing if they can keep the DBZ license past 2010. There is no need for them to release an MMO for their rights to expire months later, and thus the servers would be shut down.

this game looks amazing!
I cant wait to get my hands on it, I hope its free though I dont have the funds to support my own MMO addictions. However this is dragonball and I will do whatever it takes to get my hands on this game :twisted:
